After spending eight days in Sydney, I was dying for some really good Chinese comfort food. Especially something very soupy and hot. Although I did not exactly know what I was strongly craving for.

So when mom and I went to Vivo home, she brought me to Kim Lian Kee where she's had their noodles several times before with other family members and they all enjoyed it. It should come as no surprise that I would too. For myself, I ordered the Lao Shu Fun with an added egg. This food reminds me of my childhood because my mom makes really good one and I've been struggling to find a restaurant that cooks something remotely similar. But the one I had that night was so good, although not same as the one my mother makes, it's still very delicious.

Plus the added egg makes the whole thing more creamy & indulgent. I finished this whole pot of noodles to myself just to satisfy my long craving. Then because this was also something I was dying to have and a favourite of my mom's, we ordered the Loh Mee. This too was also very good especially after adding some black vinegar to give it more sour-ness which I prefer rather than the simple taste. The one served here has just the right amount of thickness to the soup and also very good flavour. Would happily just finish the whole bowl of soup even after enjoy my claypot lao shu fun. 

Apparently they serve good hokkien noodles and also other kind but I've yet to try them. Which gives me a good reason to go back. 

After really liking the food from here, I dragged my friend back with me. Coincidentally it was another rainy evening which I thought was perfect for something nice & warm to enjoy. As always they served us Ban-Chan after we ordered. My favourite is always the Kimchi that is provided and also the ikan bilis. I don't know why but the ones made here is not crispy but instead crunchy - nicely salty and also sweet. I always ask for refill just for this side dish and they are always very accomodating without charging me extra for that.I ordered Beef Bulgolgi which is also a major favourite of mine to get. And for Rm20, including a bowl of rice, it was really worth it. It came in the claypot bubbling and boiling with lots of enoki mushrooms strewn on top of it. The stew tasted really good and the thinly sliced beef was really tender.

Eating this with a bowl of steaming hot korean rice made my night so much better. 

After doing my grocery shopping at Isetan, KLCC - I thought to just sit down and enjoy a good Japanese meal before heading home. Spotting Senya long ago, I was intrigued by the dining concept as it remained true to its Japanese homage and also was not to exorbent in pricing. 

Laid out at the counter are already boxed bento-like meal. You can either purchase those to be taken away or eat at their restaurant. They also have a menu which you can order off of with items such as teriyaki chicken, assorted types of ramen and different types of rice bowls.

A friend had told me how good their Chicken Kaarage rice bowl was and spotting it already prepared, I took that. Although I'd usually like my meal to be steaming hot, I opted to just eat my rice bowl without being re-heated with a nice glass of hot green tea to enjoy.The first thing that struck me was the aroma of the chicken and the sauce that it was doused in. Until today I am still unsure what kind of sauce it was but there's a hint of ginger, garlic and maybe some soy sauce. It was so good as it gave the meat extra flavourings.

I enjoyed my rice bowl a lot and ate everything down to the very last grain of rice. Although I can say that it took me quite a while because for Rm17, if I remember correctly, the portion was quite huge with a lot of adequately sized chicken pieces.

Now I can't wait to go back and try other things from their menu. 

I've recently learned that Spanish style dining revolves quote a lot around Tapas style dining. Just like how we chinese/asian have variety of dishes to be shared, so do they only in different kind of flavours. My first time trying Tapas style dinner was at La Bodega.The Deep Fried Goat's Cheese caught my attention. Honestly there's nothing more satisfying and indulgent other than fried cheese that's super melty & creamy on the inside while remaining super crisp outside. Although there was only three pieces, I find it just enough because anymore than would have just left me feeling sick.

While the cheese was nicely salty, there was some sort of citrusy honey drizzled over it. So this gives an added sweetness so the fried cheese isn't one dimensional in taste. To share, I got the Linguine Alfredo with beef bacon. This was oddly like carbonara except it is more cheesy in flavour rather than cream. I quite like it especially with the crispy bits on the top and the pasta was just nicely al-dente. 

However after two or three bites I was quite done with this because it was just too creamy. So I was quite jelak after that and full after the cheese then another creamy + cheesy dish.

There are so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, so I'll definitely be back for those. Plus I like the ambience at La Bodega, especially in the eveningwhen the weather isn't so very hot.

It's been quite some time since I last visited Publika but I do enjoy going there just for the food. Although there isn't much to shop there except for when there is some bazaar or some event going around there. However I do like that I am quite spoiled for choice when it comes to eating. 

That day, I was feeling like some burger and finally brought myself to try FatBoy's burger. Sometime back this place was all the hype & people would have to line up for a long time just to try their 'famous' burgers. Though the place was pretty empty when I visited for lunch that day which is kind of odd but also good for me cause no waiting time. I ordered the simple Fat Bastard that comes with a side of fries & also some lettuce and tomato. The fries was larger than regular fast food joint ones but it was more soggy than there were any crisp - also tasted like it's been fried an hour back then kept heated. Not salted enough so it was slightly bland but I made due with some dipping condiment.The burger, it's good. But then there really isn't nothing to shout about cause this tasted just like a regular cheese burger to me. I didn't like that the bun was not toasted enough so it was just soft & slightly soggy after a while. However the meat was pretty good because it's nicely marinated and the cheese slice was quite nice.

Though I don't think I'd go back again for another because it isn't exactly the cheapest. For the same price I can get an even better burger set elsewhere. But I'm glad that I tried though.
