Malaysia Version of High Tea  Cry Aug 17, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Noodles | Halal | Mixed rice

If you have guest from oversea, bringing them to the iconic KLCC is a must so I will suggest you to also bring them to enjoy a Malaysia style afternoon tea. It time to show off some of Malaysia delicacy.

I was already at KLCC hence La Cucur will be an ideal place for me to bring my guests for afternoon tea. As we approaching the outlet we are truly amaze with the variety of kuih-muih they have and these kuihs are display at store front making the store looks so colour and delicious. There was a long que in front of the store but I dont mind queing as I really want to take a bite at these delicious colour kuih.

I got us a varierty of kuih ranging from kuih kochi, kuih lapis, angku, karipuff and slightly heavier food such as mee rebus and roti boom. The portion of the food is slightly small for the high price we paid. As for the taste, is just average I can also taste the sweet taste and there are no santan taste. Honestly I still prefer the roadside kuih.

Affordable Set Lunch Smile Aug 16, 2015
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

Looking for a healthy and budget lunch? I have to recommend Shinchon BBQ Restaurant located at Manjalara. They are now offering 10 selection of Korean food at the price of RM10nett with 4 free side dishes daily from 12pm to 3pm.

I ordered a Dolsat Bibimbap (Bibimbap in Earthware Pot) for lunch. It a simple veggie, egg and rice meal but there is the special sauce that come along with it and this special sauce make the bibimbap stand out among the other Korean food around the corner. Kimchi lover you will love Shinchon BBQ’s kimchi as it so tastefully done. There is another side dishes I love very much is the potato coated with honey. The sweetness of the honey is just right but the potato taste a little hard.

The potion is small however with the unlimited refill of 4 side dishes and free soup trust me is enough for the lady. However I don’t recommend any man for this offer unless you are a vegetarian. Beside that do not expect good services here as the waiter and waitress do very well at ignoring you when you request for refill or they will just tell you they run out of side dishes.

With Creativity, Innovative and Healthy Eating mindset, The Japanese Fusion Sandwich Bar Sumo Sandwich is created at Berjaya Time Square.

In this Sandwich bar you can expect a minimal yet creative Japanese theme sandwich selection ranging from Soft Shell Crab to Tuna Tamago and Chicken Katsu, Chicken Teriyaki or Beef Teppanyaki and Mushroom Kakiage.

Once you have decided the sandwich that you prefer, you are given the option to pick your favourite bread. There are several flavour such as pumpkin, bamboo, tamato chili, seaweed and Multigrain.

I have picked Mushroom Kakiage pair with Pumpkin Bread. The portion of the sandwich is huge and they are generous with the filling. I love the way they torch cheddar cheese on the sandwich as I will be able to taste the melted cheesy sensation on my every bite. I fancy mushroom a lot however I do not taste much of mushroom in the sandwich. It could be because the deep fried vegetable covered the mushroom taste.

As for the pumpkin bread, much improvement is need. The colour is nice but it lacking on the flavour. The bread is also not soft and fluffy as I like it. Just a little improvement needed in this area and I believe this colour sandwich bar is going to make a big hit among the local players.

Tucked away in the corner of Level 2 East Wing, you will  be able to spot this cute sandwich bar as it restaurant is designed with colourful furniture and a large sumo brand icon located right outside of the store.

Herbal Pan Mee Smile Aug 13, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam | Noodles

Who said good food are only served at fancy restaurant? Your neighbourhood coffee shop could be serving some really good food for ages.

I had my share of good lunch today with my sister at my neighbourhood coffeeshop Double One located at Bandar Manjalara (near TESCO KEPONG HQ). I believe people staying at kepong most probably have heard or seen this coffeeshop before and I grow up eating at this coffeeshop. There are a nice variety of food available here and my favourite will be Pan Mee stall by an elderly couple.  This Pan Mee shop offered a few different Pan Mee soup based cater to people with different taste preference. My favourite will be Herbal Pan Mee.

The Pan Mee in this store give you the right thickest that able to give you a nice mouthful and the herbal soup is sweet with mild herbal taste just the way I like it. A nice Pan Mee must have some good chilli and I must said aunty do have some nice spicy chilli. However I feel this Herbal Soup Pan Mee should have more mushroom and anchovies to enhance the overal taste. However with the current economy situation this is acceptable with the price I paid.

So if you anyone staying or working or drove by Manjalara during lunch time, please do not hesitate to park you car and try the Pan Mee at Double One Coffeeshop. Do request for more chilli if you love spicy food as they are a little stingy with their chilli

Super Jimat Rice Wrap Box Cry Aug 12, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches | Halal

It 9.30pm and all restaurant is closing so I decide to go for KFC since I haven't tasted KFC for long time. I ordered the Super Jimat Rice Wrap Box since it something new to me. The box consist of a Nasi Masak Merah with Zinger Chicken Strip Rice Wrap, 1pc chicken (Originl or Hot & Spicy), the all time fizzy soft drink Pepsi and small french fries.

The highligh of the box ofcause is the wrap. I personally find this idea of having our all time favourite nasi masak merah in a wrap is creative cross-over of eastern and western. I had my first bite with full of excitement but it truly dissapointed. The taste of the wrap is nothing close to Nasi Masak Merah. This could be because the rice in the wrap is very little and KFC is using Zinger Chicken Strip.

I personally do not think this box is anything to shout as the taste is noting close to Nasi Masak Merah and the price of this box is not 'Super Jimat' as it claims.
