It is located below the Sri Pelangi Apartment, which is exactly behind the Federal Theater (formerly). Seafood Porridge stall is relatively new as there is one stall serving delicious chicken mushroom hor fun for quite a long time.

They have choices of clear soup and tomyam soup. So, you can pick your favourite ingredients such as fresh fish meats, fried fish, prawns, etc and your preferred carbohydrates (porridge, maggie mee, bee hoon).

We opted the basic ones, the fried fish porridge and bee hoon soup without any addition of other ingredients. The overall for both fried fish bee hoon soup and fried fish porridge were just okay but I was expecting a more flavorful soup. The fried fish meats were quite small in size but they maintened the crispy texture when served.

HK Triplemilk at Golden Triangle OK Aug 17, 2015

Categories : Asian Variety | Café | Noodles | Desserts

Eggette (HK Egg Puff) is the egg based waffle. It was made on the spot and served fresh and hot on our table. It had crispy crust but fluffy inside. If you want to fix your crave for eggette, HK triplemilk can serve you a good one.

Another specialty is the frozen yoghurt. We opted original flavour frozen yoghurt and combined red beans and pop balls as the toppings, drizzled with chocolate sauce. Taste-wise, I think it was quite similar to what we have in other frozen yoghurt shops. It was okay but nothing special.

Spending per head: Approximately RM6

DIY RM1.50 Asam Laksa Smile Aug 17, 2015

Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Noodles

Balik Pulau has been well known for some local foods such as asam laksa, pau, and pasembur that can be found in the. But, there is only one stall serving DIY asam laksa, established by a Malay family.

This is the DIY laksa. It was just RM1 previouly but it has risen in price to RM1.50 due to the inflation of price for everything.

You can mix and match for all you want.  The soup is nice and there is no extra charge if you want to refill the laksa soup.

Spending per head: Approximately RM1.50

Top Spot Seafood, Kuching Smile Aug 17, 2015

Categories : Chinese | Food court

We are always haunting for delicious seafoods whenever we are in east Malaysia. So when we went to Kuching, Top spot seafood centre was one of the must-eat in our food lists.
Top spot seafood centre is a favorite seafood eating place in Kuching and as the name implies, it is located at the top of multilevel carpark in the centre of Kuching. Almost all the stalls there are selling the same foods, seafood!

So we decided to go for ABC seafood centre as my friend recommended that this stall serves delicious seafoods. The service was quite fast and it only took around 15minutes to serve the first dish.

Midin is kind of special local vegetables found in east Malaysia. In west Malaysia , it is known as paku (fern family). It has crunchy texture and yes, this is one of the must try vegetables when you are in east Malaysia.

The texture is really different from the fried oyster we have in Penang. It tastes like fried crackers rather than the wet-style fried oyster with egg in Penang. Nothing to shout loud about this but you could give it a try.

The sauce is so good to my liking. The sauce is neither too spicy nor too sweet. It is just perfect and I have added on more rice because of this sauce. Haha. Sweet and sour crab is recommended!

We were disappointed when the dish was served. We expected the dish was cooked in dry egg yolk powder but the crabs was just only stir fried with the salted egg yolk. It was very salty and we couldn't finish the dish.

We also ordered curry bamboo clams, deep fried squid and fried prawns in butter and garlic. The overall rating for these three dishes were good and they would make you to add on more rice.

Frank Laurent Coffee Roasters Smile Aug 17, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Café

I believe that more people are getting to know more about this small cozy cafe as Udini Square has launched its grand opening on 8 August 2015. They have limited seats and the place with simple setting is getting more popular as their limited seats are always occupied whenever I passed by. Having a big glass window facing Lebuh Tunku Kudin which allows the natural sunlight to flood in and the ambience was just so relaxing and comfortable, it is definitely one of the good place to spend an afternoon with friends for a relaxing chat or visiting alone to have some personal quiet time over there.

They offer a wide range of freshly roasted coffee, teas, chocolates, cakes and waffles. We only had their coffee when we visited to this small cozy cafe. Their coffee are well priced but the desserts such as cakes and waffles are slightly higher. But, i think the cakes and waffles are seemingly worth to give them a try. They are definitely in my list for my next visit.

Not being a coffee lover, i still find their coffee were enjoyable. They were worth for trying. And if you are a coffee lover, you should visit the cafe and find out your favourite.

Spending per head: Approximately RM8(下午茶)
