Noodles Smile Jun 28, 2016

I happen to be around at Kuchai Lama area and am looking for restaurant for lunch. I wanted to eat noodle today, spotted this restaurant offering dumpling which is my favourite. I stepped in without any hesitation.
I love to eat dumpling very much, thus Dumpling noodle will be my order today. There are choices of dry or soup, I opt for dry version. According to the lady boss, all ingredients are housemade. Housemade noodle, slightly thicker than Ramen, has very good texture. Came in 4 pieces of dumpling, right amount of filling and it is juicy too. You must try the housemade chilli sauce, just like Pan Mee chilli. Spicy and pungent which goes well with the noodle. This is delicious.

My friend whom ordered the Curry Noodle, commented the noodle was okay only.

I almost pass-by Old Klang Road everyday, I have glanced on this restaurant before but I do not know what’s the restaurant name until my friend asked me for lunch one day. Chong Heng Restaurant is located at ground floor of Wisma Newcom. Parking is available in front of the restaurant which is convenient to the patron. The restaurant is quite on Sunday lunch, only table is occupied upon arrival. My friend has placed the order before my arrival. I just need to sit back and relax.

Steamed Fish was the first dish was served. Fish was very fresh with housemade soy sauce, sweet and fragrant.

Fried Sea Prawn & Glass noodle (RM35), this is a special dish to me. You will find a layer of glass noodle below the sea prawn which was beautifully arranged. The glass noodle was very flavourful as its absorbed the prawn essence. Yes, it is delicious.

We had Golden Seafood Fried Rice instead of white rice, the word Golden refers to Salted egg yolk. Fried rice was full of “Wok Hei” and well coated with salted egg yolk. I like this very much.

I have tried Coffee Box but it was sometime back at Cheras branch. I happen to be around this area therefore I decided to have my lunch here. The café even offer set lunch even though on weekend which inclusive of one drink- Ice Lemon Tea. What’s a good bargain! There were about 10 choices of main course and I opt for Buttermilk Chicken Rice as my final choice. After waited for 10mins, my foods were served. The portion is decent, I first tried was the Fried Chicken, deboned, crispy batter and good aroma of buttermilk. I never expect it was so tasty. Thumb up!

Meanwhile, I have Sardine sandwich to be shared with my friend. Toast was very crispy with light fragrant of butter. Right amount of Sardine filling without any fishy smell which is a plus point.

I am happy with the overall foods and service here. Moreover, the price is reasonable too.

Dinner Smile Jun 27, 2016

The Prince formerly known as Steam Room, they have changed their brand name recently. However, I did not notice there are any changes in terms of their food menu. Anyway, that is not important, most important is the food quality.
This time I want to try their soup noodle therefore I opt for Pork Bone soup noodle with Dumpling. There are using Shanghai noodle which is soft and not much of mouth-feel. Soup is in milky colour, light and clear. Dumpling was huge to me, generous amount of filling. This is satisfying.

Kai Lan, cook in 2 different style- Deep Fried and Fried. Deep fried is only the leafy vegetable, crispy and lightly salted.

Siew Mai, 3 pieces medium size dim sum in one basket. Taste good!

Fish ball, 2 pieces in one basket. This is good too.

Overall foods were good and service was good too.

Yucky Curry Noddle! Cry Jun 17, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

I have stop dining at Esquire Kitchen, reason being the service is very bad. This happen many years ago till I unable to recall why, I guest is more one decade. I have no intention go visit this restaurant again until today as my colleague wanted to dine here badly. In order not to disappoint her then I follow suit.
They offer special lunch set during weekday lunch and I had myself Curry Noodle and Fried Rice for my colleague. We waited for 15mins for our food to arrive. Nonetheless, I was shock when I receive my Curry Noodle. The soup was rather thick like gravy or even thicker. Oh my god! You imagine it was served with Mee Hoon. Moreover, only curry chicken was the side. Suppose to have beancurd, cockles or long bean or pork skin or char siew in Curry Noodle. Why only curry chicken?!

I have checked back the menu make sure I have ordered the correct food. Yes, it was clearly stated that Curry Noodle but not Dry Curry Noodle. But the soup was not acceptable. I have called the waitress and was told that their Curry soup is like that. Sigh…without any choices I requested a glass of hot water to be added into the curry. However, it does not help any because it was remained thick. Just imagine you are eating curry paste with mee hoon. I have lost my appetite and just leave it a side.

My colleague was very lucky to have Fried Rice for her lunch. She commented the rice was okay.

I will know this is the last visit to Esquire Kitchen, I can guaranteed my next visit will be another decade again or even more. Too bad! The service was as bad as before, no improvement for so many years!
