BBQ All you can eat Smile Aug 30, 2015

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Buffet | BBQ | Group/Family dining

Rocku Yakiniku opened in Pavilion since last year. However, the crowd is still maintain from day one until now. You will see the queue outside the shop most of the time. I think this is the most popular restaurant at Level 6. Please bear in mind, they do not accept any reservation. Just join the queue if you really want to eat there.
Rocku is very famous for their all-you-can-eat BBQ. That's why I'm here today. The price is pretty straight forward 90mins at RM49.90, you can opt for 60mins extension at RM9.90. This is only the food price excluding drink and ice cream. I have ordered a bottle of Iced Green Tea at RM3.00 just enough for 2 pax.
The restaurant was fully occupied eventhough is on weekday.

Upon seated, the waiter will briefly tell you the ordering process and other information. The order chit is available at the table for you to order the BBQ raw meat. You can choose from Lamb, Pork and Beef wherelse seafoods are butterfish, salmon, mussel, scallop etc.

Shortly, the waitress came and place the burning charcoal on the stove. Yes,we are ready for grilling!

We have ordered various types of meat- Pork beacon, Lamb and Beef.

Meats are grilling is progress. We are very excited and cant wait to eat. The stove is hot please pay attention to the meat as it will get burn easily.

There are various types of sauce available at the buffet counter however I would prefer eat as it is so I can taste the sweetness of the meat. After the meaty session, here comes the seafood session.

The scallops were so sweet, same goes to the prawn. I have tried the salmon as well. It is yummy.

Apart from the BBQ, there are a buffet counter located next to the cashier. You will find ready cooked foods available such as Japanese Fried Rice, Spaghetti, Salad, Edamame, Fried wedges, Tomato meatball, Japanese Jelly Fish etc. Whereby on the opposite side, they are some vegetables for grilling for instance Brinjal, Onion, Mushroom etc.
I took some Korean Kimchi after.

On top of that, Miso soup and Chawanmushi are available upon ordering.

The waiter came and inform us is time-out therefore you do not need to worry about the extra charge for extension. To me, 90mins is more than enough as I already started to feel full after the BBQ session.
To summarize, I'm very happy with my dining experience here as I can grill my own foods and the buffet spread. Also, the variety they cover is good enough for my dinner. What's a satifying dinner I have!

Traditional egg tart Smile Aug 30, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Is Saturday morning, as usual Imbi wet market peak hour. I'm late today is already 9.30AM. I wanted to drop by to take away Sister Spring Roll. While queueing for spring roll, egg tart has cross my mind.
Then, I proceed to Bunn Choon stall. Wow...I can see the long queue from far. Struggling whether wait or leave. Ok, I convience myself good food is worth to wait. I have joined in the queue. Lots of customer has large order- 2
boxes, 3 boxes. The lady boss was busy serving customers others works are busy making egg tarts. Yes, all egg tarts are fresh from the oven.

Apart from their signature egg tart, they have other traditional pastry as well such as pineapple tarts, lotus paste pastry, salted egg pastry etc.
Tick tock, tick tock...... finally is my turn. 30mins past, Phew!!! I only want to eat egg tart nothing else, let's get one piece each of the flavours- Classic, Green tea and Black sesame plus Coconut tart for my mom.
Egg tart was freshly bake from the oven therefore it is still hot with vapour. It was properly packed in the paper box.

Tarts were still in good condition when I reach home. I just have a quick snap while it is looks perfect.
Black sesame egg tart RM1.80

Green egg egg tart RM1.80

Classic egg tart RM1.60

Lastly, Coconut tart RM2.00

I have tried the classic egg tart before therefore I was eagerly to try the other 2 new flavours while it is still lukewarm. The first bite of Green tea, the pastry was flakey and crispy, you will taste light fragrant of green tea flavour, light one. Something different.

Next, Black sesame- they are using black sesame powder to mix with the pastrt dough therefore you will taste the crunch of the toasted sesame. Oh... sounds healthy!

If you were to ask me which flavour do I prefer, I would still love the classic egg. 30mins waiting time is worth while!

Dim Sum vs Steamboat Smile Aug 30, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Dim sum

I feel strange when I came across this restaurant name as Dim Sum King Steamboat Queen. Meaning AM serves Dim Sum and PM serves Steamboat. This restaurant is located same stretch with Time Hotel ample of parking available here. Dim Sum is available from morning till 3.00PM and the selling price is RM4.60 per basket across the board. To me is consider cheap as compare to those coffee shop and I can enjoy my food in the air-con room at clean environment. Why not?!

Talking about Dim Sum, here are the must-order foods. Siew Mai- it comes in 4 pieces at reasonable size. I like the taste of the Siew Mai and it is serves hot from the steamer.

Prawn dumpling- Big size prawn filling. Fantastic!

Fish Ball- Giant size fish paste steamed together with vege at the bottom

Steam pork rib- I love it as it steam together with the braised peanut. Yummy!

Steam shark fin dumpling- The big prawn obviously can be seen.So tempting!

Steam Aparagus Prawn Dumpling- Something different than the ordinary as it is stuffed with bite size of Aparagus.

Salad prawn- Deep fried dumpling serves with mayonaise.

Pan Fried Shanghai Dumpling- This is similar to Japanese Gyoza which comes with ginger strips in vinegar. However, the stuffing is prawns.

Deep fried sesame ball- Lotus filling sweet and smooth.

Steam custard bao- Initially I thought this is the salted egg custard filling. No, it is made with pure custard. Thick and fragant.

Lastly, is the Pan Fried Carrot cake, I like this very much, little spicy not too over, and the taste is just nice for me.

Im happy with the dim sum that I have tried. I even more happy with the selling price merely RM4.60 per basket yet with such big portion and delicious. Dim Sum are made daily to ensure the freshness is there. I denitely will recommend to my friends as it is value for money!

Japanese concept burger Smile Aug 27, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches

Kissburger has been sitting in my bookmark since last year. Never get the chance to try due to location issue. In fact, I like to hang out in Desa Park City because it is a close area designed for the residence nearby and covers supermarket, Bank, Convenient stall as well as eateries.
Kissburger is one of shop strategically located at Ground Floor opoposite The Coffee Bean. It comes with indoor and outdoor seating area.

Clean and bright ambience with simple renovation and painting on the wall.

This is a fast food concept restaurant therefore customer has to proceed to the counter for ordering.

Im new to the brand and I have no idea what to do order. However, Im happy that the order taker has recommended me their signature burger- Chicken Egg and mushroom burger RM11.60nett. The burger is made to order hence  I have to wait for 10mins.
Well, the burger is ready within the quoted time. Good is so effecient and nicely packed into the paper bag instead of plastic bag.

The first bite of the burger is fantastic. The chicken patty is soft and juicy, seems it is using fresh chicken meat to prepare for the patty. The burger was sandwich with strands of enoki mushroom, this will have better mouth feel when you bite it. I can taste they are few types of sauce inside namely mayo and blackpepper. The sauce is the best combination of vegi, patty and egg. Cool, it is really delicious!

Verdict, it is really impressive to me. I did not know how good is the burger until I have tried it. Thumb up! Yummy yummy!

Ordinary chicken rice OK Aug 21, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

I have never came across this restaurant before, I think it has been opened for 2 years. The restaurant is located at the corner of first floor Pavilion KL. My colleague recommend me to come here for lunch.
I was there around 12.45pm and the restaurant was 70% occupied. There are ala carte and set lunch for you to choose from.

The set lunch is from RM10.80 & above. I'm hungry today therefore I have ordered Set C which consist of Roasted chicken, Rice, Bean sprout, soup and Herbal tea. Alternatively, you can opt for Steam chicken instead of Roasted chicken.

After waited for 15mins, the foods are served.

First, I want comment about the rice, soft and fluffy. Soup is rich and the bean sprout is little bit of salty immersed in soy sauce. As for the Roasted chicken, is too raw for me and you can see the bone is bloody. I do understand that shorten the cooking time will leave the chicken flesh smooth and soft. However, I dislike to see the bloody bone and I feel that the meat is not well cooked. Therefore, I will take half and leave another half portion behind.

Verdict, this is a plate of ordinary chicken rice. Nothing great to shout about. If you like something simple, perhaps you can try this.
