Simple and delicious meal Smile Feb 25, 2016

You are right, I am the regular customer here. Proud to say, I almost tried half of the menu. I trying to order to different foods in every visit therefore I would not get bored eating the same food.

I would like to have western food today therefore I get myself Chicken meal named Escalope de Poulet (RM22.90), a French word. Basically, this is deep fried breaded chicken breast with tomato sauce spread lastly baked with cheese slice. Side dishes are blanch French Bean and fried wedges. It was very crispy when I first cut, chicken meat was very juicy and well marinated. I love the wedges, it seems like it was made of fresh potato rather than frozen wedges. The portion is consider huge for me as it’s very meaty, sharing would be good.

Fried Kuay Teow (RM10.90), this Char Kuey Teow was full of “Wok Hee”. Simple yet tasty, it was not oily at all.

I spotted next table has ordered Onion Ring which looks very appetizing. Hence, I want to have mine as well, sounds greedy. Onion Ring (RM5.90), it was made of fresh Bombay onion, well breaded deep fried in golden brown colour. It was nicely made using the fresh ingredient, as most of the restaurant using frozen onion ring rather than making the fresh one. Crispy outside yet preserve the original freshness of the onion.

What’s a satisfying meal I have! Enjoy!

I always enjoy dining at Alexis Bistro, their foods are never fail to impress me. Good food quality, good ambience and good service. But with all this good things happen of course associated with good price. Do you agree?

Coming back, spaghetti and pizza are in my top list when dining here.
Let’s start off with my appetizer, Soup of the day- Pumpkin soup, it was creamy, smooth with all the nutrient goodness in it. Best pair with Garlic Bread.

Fried wanton, consist 5 pieces in a plate with chili dip provided. Wanton is in Chicken mince meat filling, deep fried to golden brown colour, it was crispy of course the best snack ever.

Pesto Spaghetti , spaghetti was cooked all-dente, well tossed in Pesto sauce top with grated cheese and pine nuts. Simple main course yet very tasty.

Pollo Pizza (RM36.00), thin crust pizza base topping with shredded chicken, red and green capsicum baked with mozzarella cheese.

Hainanese Chicken Rice, aromatic rice with steamed chicken breast. I always have an impression that Alexis only excel in western food however, this Chicken Rice is really good.

They even serve a separate bowl of soup for Chicken Rice. The soup was tasty. I even request for second bowl with no extra charge.

I have Ginger Cake for my sweet ending, I did not have high expectation on this cake but the server has very high recommendation on this cake. Why not have a try then?! It was good, light gingery taste and Gula Melaka was very aromatic. Yes, indeed yummy!

Verdict, is worth a visit as the foods are good.

Penang Food Smile Feb 23, 2016

Lorong Seratus is famous for their authentic Penang foods. I have tried this restaurant before but it was some time back. I unable to recall what I had before. Anyhow, I have decided to try the Mamak as I saw the food picture on the bunting displayed at the entrance which is appealing to me.

The restaurant is rather quite during lunch time therefore our foods were served fast. We have Prawn Noodle and Lemon Chicken Chop Rice for our lunch today. This is the set lunch which comes with drinks, I have picked Ice Cincau and Soya for my friend.

Prawn Noodle was smells good upon serving, decent portion with standard condiment such as hard boiled egg, sliced fish cakes, Kangkung, shrimp and fried shallot. I opt for Mee Hoon as I dislike yellow mee. The soup was good, sweetness is there, mild spicy and strong prawn aroma. This is satisfying though.

Ice Cincau was served cold and lightly sweeten. Cincau was thinly sliced and it was chewy as well.

Lemon Chicken Chop Rice, consist of Deep fried Chicken Chop, Sunny side up, piece of tomato & cucumber. Lemon sauce is served in separate bowl to preserve the crispiness of the chicken chop. They are using chicken thigh to prepare the chop therefore the meat was very tender. Lemon sauce was tasted a bit sour and sweet. My friend choose to eat the chicken chop without dipping the sauce as she said the chicken chop was taste good to eat as is.

Tea time Smile Feb 19, 2016

Coffee Bean has opened new outlet in Leisure Mall recently, I was very happy because I enjoy their coffee very much. I wanted to watch movie at GSC hence I purposely to reach one hour early just to have a cup of coffee here prior to movie screening.
I have ordered my favourite drink- Chai Latte (RM12.70) and Americano (RM8.55) for my friend. For your information, you can enjoy 15% discount on F&B if you are Ciitbank Cardholder.

Well, I’m glad that Coffee Bean still serving Chai Latte as Starbucks has discontinued this drink many years ago, oh such as waste. However, you still can get it from some of the Café in town.

I have no intension to order any food, however, I saw the muffin was so appetizing. Ok, let’s order one Blueberry Muffin (RM6.80). Also, I get the Order Taker to reheat the muffin for me.

Aside, I enjoy drinking Chai Latte because I like the smell of spices and cinnamon. This gives me a kick of it.

Oh, just a little comment about Coffee Bean Muffin is in smaller size as compare to Starbucks muffin. Anyhow, this Blueberry Muffin is very soft and fluffy. You will see bites size of blueberry in the muffins. It was very tasty especially while it still warm.

Americano aka Black Coffee, aromatic and best to drink with milk and sugar. Enjoy!

Extraordinary Japanese Food Smile Feb 19, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba

They are plenty of eateries in Publika, from Chinese to Korea, from Fusion to Western. I want to have dinner with my friend and she has chosen Tsubohachi Japanese Restaurant which located at second floor of Publika facing the main road. In fact, I have not heard of this restaurant before and I just follow suit. I did not aware that this restaurant was very famous in Japan until I saw it from the menu which they have achieved over 100 outlets in Japan. Cool…

The restaurant was quite upon my arrival, I notice that most of their customers are Japanese. Without any delay, we have ordered from appetizer, main course and dessert.

For appetizer, we have Chicken Skin Skewer, Chicken Karaage and Negima. Chicken Skin Skewers (RM7.80) were very crispy and light salted. Not so healthy appetizer but it is tasty.

Chicken Karaage (RM13.90), also known as Japanese Fried Chicken. Deep fried Batter coating was very crispy and chicken meat was tender and juicy.

Negima part of Yakitori series, skewer sandwiched between boneless chicken chunk and leek. Chicken was good with charcoal grill aroma however the leek was slightly burn therefore I have put aside.

As for main course, we have Buta Hakusai Nabe (RM29.90) and Ramen Sarada (RM16.90). Buta Hakusai Nab, Pork belly and Chinese Cabbage Claypot, forming like rose petal one after another. Soup was clear and sweet.

Ramen Sarada is a cold noodle with generous of fresh vegetable such as lettuce, onion, shredded carrot etc tossed in Japanese sesame dressing. Refreshing cold appetizer cum main course as the portion is big for one person.

Lastly, is dessert time, Matcha De Roru (RM14.90), Green tea crepe roll with vanilla ice cream and Azuki Bean paste. My favourite green tea flavour, sweet and satisfying.
