Yucky Curry Noddle! Cry Jun 17, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

I have stop dining at Esquire Kitchen, reason being the service is very bad. This happen many years ago till I unable to recall why, I guest is more one decade. I have no intention go visit this restaurant again until today as my colleague wanted to dine here badly. In order not to disappoint her then I follow suit.
They offer special lunch set during weekday lunch and I had myself Curry Noodle and Fried Rice for my colleague. We waited for 15mins for our food to arrive. Nonetheless, I was shock when I receive my Curry Noodle. The soup was rather thick like gravy or even thicker. Oh my god! You imagine it was served with Mee Hoon. Moreover, only curry chicken was the side. Suppose to have beancurd, cockles or long bean or pork skin or char siew in Curry Noodle. Why only curry chicken?!

I have checked back the menu make sure I have ordered the correct food. Yes, it was clearly stated that Curry Noodle but not Dry Curry Noodle. But the soup was not acceptable. I have called the waitress and was told that their Curry soup is like that. Sigh…without any choices I requested a glass of hot water to be added into the curry. However, it does not help any because it was remained thick. Just imagine you are eating curry paste with mee hoon. I have lost my appetite and just leave it a side.

My colleague was very lucky to have Fried Rice for her lunch. She commented the rice was okay.

I will know this is the last visit to Esquire Kitchen, I can guaranteed my next visit will be another decade again or even more. Too bad! The service was as bad as before, no improvement for so many years!

No good! Cry Mar 11, 2016

Categories : Western variety | Café

I was just finished my movie at cinema, now I am looking for café to have a cup of coffee before heading home. In fact, nothing much in this shopping mall. The only café crossed my mind was L’ Esprezzo.

The café was quite then I can a quick order at the counter. For your information, this is self service café thus all order must place at the counter. I have ordered tea set for myself- Sandwich and coffee at RM19.90nett only. Meantime, I have picked 2 buns from the bakery counter and get the server to heat it up for me. Sounds greedy right?!

Tuna Croissant comes with salad in balsamic dressing and potato chips, the croissants was soggy even though it was barely warm. It seems they are using leftover croissant yesterday. I even dislike the tuna mayo which tasteless and watery like plain yogurt. I hardly can find a piece of tuna in it. You will feel like eating the yogurt with croissant. To me, it was awful.

Black Coffee which comes in set with sandwich, this is an ordinary Black Coffee.

As for the other 2 buns, croissant was soggy too. Luckily the Sausage Bun RM3.90 was good. Otherwise, I would need to discard these 2 as well.

Ice Lemon Tea RM11.90 which ordered by my friend, the server took quite a long time to prepare this beverage. Not much of tea aroma but just left only sour taste. Quite a disappointed!

Oily food Cry Feb 29, 2016

This is my first visit to Landon Coffee as I’m looking for café for lunch with air-conditioned in a hot afternoon. The café is rather quite around this hour, they are limited tables here and you will see a bread section having promotion at RM1 per bun. What’s a good deal!

To my surprise, their lunch menu is really limited, I can even say Spaghetti, Fried rice and Chicken Chop full stop of course the beverage menu. I wonder how can they survive with this kind of menu. Without much choice, I have order Chicken Chop which claimed this is their signature dish. Moreover, I have ordered their signature Coffee as well.

After waited for 10mins, my coffee is served. Before I have my first sip, from the colour itself I can tell the coffee is very diluted. Bingo, yes, it was very diluted. No coffee strength at all, just taste like one cup plain hot water with 2 tablespoon of coffee added. Can you image that? Anyway, I had few sip then the rest just leave it as is.

Next, Chicken Chop, deep fried in golden brown colour. Well marinated however it was too oily as you will see excessive oil on the body. You will see there is a piece of cracker place below the Chicken Chop. I have no idea what is that, non crispy and chewy yet a bit burn at the edge. I dare not eat it. For the condiment, Charcoal bun was dried and hard, salad was just normal. Lastly is the sauce, brown sauce I guess.

I ate only 20% of the Chicken Chop, you can image how good is the food was. Completed disappointed.

Awful noodle Cry Feb 29, 2016

I believe Moonlight is not new to you. It has been so hot for past month. Lots of people have been sharing their food in Facebook especially the Durian Cake. I do not want to queue up for table therefore I have the patient to wait till the heat subsided.

Saturday morning, wondering where to have breakfast today, suddenly Moonlight has crossed my mind. Let’s go! Moonlight occupied 2 floors of the corner lot, Ground floor is the bakery and first floor is the dining area.I proceed to first floor and have a quick order. Perhaps it is early in the morning, the café was a bit quite.

I have a cup of Café Latte RM10.50 to kick start my day. I prefer to go without sugar thus the Latte was tasted a bit bitter with strong strength of coffee. What’s a good cup of good coffee!

Next, here comes my main course Honey BBQ Grilled Chicken Noodle RM11.20. The presentation of the noodle does not appeal to me upon serving. When I first taste the noodle it was tasteless and it was barely warm. Moving on to BBQ Grilled Chicken, the chicken was dry and hard, taste of the sauce is quite weird to me. It was neither here nor there, honey or BBQ or oyster sauce. I unable to tell what was sauce like? In short, it was awful.

To wrap up the above experience, I would suggest you can come here for coffee only otherwise opt for other food. I even have take-away some buns, however the buns did not meet my expectation as well in term of taste and texture. Good luck!

No Good! Cry Feb 15, 2016

I like to hang out in Desa Park City, quite and ample of parking bay. I purposely drop by for lunch today. I have chosen Onde Onde this time as it is less crowded today which usually pack and need to wait for the table.
I was served to table for 4 upon my arrival, browsing the menu wonder what to eat today. Finally, I decided to order Siam Mee Hoon whereby my friend would like to have Big Breakfast to pair with Teh O Ais Limau and Limau Ais respectively.

Siam Mee Hoon (RM10.90) was served after 5 mins, it seems like the Mee Hoon was cooked before hand and heated using the Microwave. In short, is not cook upon ordering. I felt regretted as I expect made to order. The taste of Siam Mee Hoon was average, not spicy but a bit dry for me. Fried chicken chunk was served cold with onion topped with Thai Chilli Sauce. The 2 big prawns on top were cold either.

Big Breakfast (RM16.90) comprises of Toast, Scramble Egg, Bake Bean, Ham, Sausages, Harshbrown and salad. Upon serving, this dish was not appeal to me at all. Let’s go through one by one. Toast, salad, sausages and bake bean were considered normal. However, the Scramble egg was overcooked, it was taste like fried egg instead. Harshbrown was overcooked as well as its turned dark brown colour with excessive oil on it. Ham (pix shown below)which is close to pink colour, to me this is consider low grade product and my friend did not bother to touch it.

As for the beverages, Teh O Ais Limau (RM5.90) and Limau Ais (RM3.50) which were normal. Nothing much to comment about.
