Ikea food Smile Mar 29, 2016

Ikea Restaurant is always packed regardless weekday or weekend, do you agree? I believe because of their foods price are very reasonable, free flow of coffee / soft drinks and foods are tasty too.

Is a weekday today, after buying some stuff from Ikea, I wanted to rest my leg and have some light snack. I was just trying my luck to get a table around this time and proceed to the counter for my order.

As usual, I will definitely order my favourite Fried Chicken Wing (RM12) as well as Chicken Nugget set (RM4.50). In fact, the Chicken Nugget set is supposed to be Kid Meal. Without any delay, I would like to start eating my Fried Chicken Wing. It was good that it was served hot, crispy outside and juicy inside. Moreover, it was well-marinated. Indeed delicious! Frankly speaking this is one of my top 5 Fried Chicken list.

As for the Chicken Nugget, quite a standard snack plate. Best thing is mayonnaise is provided you can dip with your French fries.

They came out with new foods as well recently. I will definitely come back for more.

Shi Fu Wanton Mee Smile Mar 29, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

This restaurant is always caught my attention when passing by, reason being this restaurant is very “Red”. Occupied three storey of the shop lot with lots of red lanterns decorated outside of the shop. I always think that the restaurant named 龙门客栈. In fact is not, I am wrong, the ground floor was named Shi Fu Wanton Mee whereby second and third floor are龙门客栈 which serving spicy steamboat. But all belongs to the same boss. I only realized this when I saw the receipt upon payment.

I do not want to eat steamboat today because I want to get some snack from Night Market along Jalan Manis which right front of the restaurant. It could be this reason, the restaurant seems quite around this dinner time. Sometime customer is spoilt for choices.

In order to have something light, I opt for Dry version of Wanton Mee (RM7.00) with Char Siew topping. Without needed to wait much longer, my food was served. The Wanton mee is springy, sauce is rich and sweet. Char Siew was using lean meat which I prefer to have fat in between.

As usual, wanton was served in separate bowl. Soup was clear and the Wantons were tasty yet generous amount of filling. This is good!

Curry Mee 金牌咖喱面 (RM9.50), was remarked as signature noodles. I have tried the curry soup was just a bit too normal for me. Perhaps I have high expectation on it. But overall is still acceptable.

Iced Lemon Tea (RM3.50), just to quench my thirst in this hot weather season.

Delicious Chinese Cuisine Smile Mar 24, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Yes, it was my friend Birthday dinner, we wanted to organize a Birthday bash for her in the café. However, she preferred to have it in the Chinese Restaurant instead. To be exact, she likes to eat Chinese food.

I have booked room and set dinner for 12 pax specially for her Birthday. The Chinese set menu is similar to Chinese New Year set or Wedding set. We were served 2 plates of peanut upon arrival. Luckily all of us are punctual therefore we can start our dinner on time.
Braised Shark Fin Soup with Crab Meat, I love this soup very much. The soup was sweet with generous amount of crab meat. Indeed tasty.

Roasted Crispy Suckling Pig in Hong Kong style, one of my favourite dish. The skin was very crispy, it has good aroma of five spices powder.

Steamed Estuary Fish Fillet with Beancurd stick and black fungus, the fish sauce was very sweet as it has all the fish essence in it. The fish fillet is a bit thick for me anyway.

Pan Fried Tiger Prawns with Butter Floss, one of my favourite too. This is because I like the way they cook. The prawn size was big, it has very good aroma of buttery flavour and the skin was very crispy too.

Stir fried Seasonable Vegetable, simple and full of wok hei vegetable.

Glutinous Rice with waxed meat, this is also my favourite. The taste is just on my liking.

The set menu comes with 2 types of desserts- Mochi in Red bean paste filling & Steamed Lotus Bao and Chilled Pamelo Tea with Aloe Vera. I forgot to take picture as I am too busy eating.

Apart from the above set menu, I have ordered from ala carte menu the Double Boiled Soup (RM28). I can’t recall what is the name of the soup, in fact I have booked this soup 3 days in advance. Just in case it was sold out. The soup was sweet and tasty too.

My additional order- Signature Pork Ribs (RM64), well marinated, flavourful and crispy too. To those who like to eat pork ribs, please order this.

Stir Fried baby French Bean (RM38)

Verdict, I was very happy with the food and service provided. I definitely will be back again especially the soup. Some additional information, the set menu was charged only RM898++. This is consider very reasonable this is because to those set comes with Roasted pig will be easily priced RM1k & above. This is worth a visit!

Michelin Rated Restaurant Smile Mar 24, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

Pang’s Kitchen is a Michelin Rated Restaurant. I have high expectation on their food. I have even google their review prior to my visit and EatdrinkKL is one of it. Therefore, we follow exactly what he has ordered during his visit. Of course, I will browse through the menu see what do they serve. In fact, they were quite a wide array of selection.

Without any delay, let’s review their food. The first dish they served was Scramble Milk with Scallop (RM38), I always hear this dish in those Hong Kong TVB series but I never get the chance to try this until today. The dish was made by milk thus the texture was smooth, creamy and sweet because of the scallop. This is worth a try.

Sweet & Sour Pork with Strawberry (RM28), this is very flavourful as the sauce was thick, sweet and sour. I enjoy eating this dish very much. Also, as it was named Strawberry, you will find few pieces of slices Strawberry in it.

Crispy Chicken with Garlic (RM35), we have ordered half portion as we might afraid that we are unable to finish all. This is also one of their Best Seller, the chicken skin was crispy which I believe it was deep fried where chicken meat was tender and juicy.

Braised Bean Curd with Fresh mushroom (RM22), I love to eat the Tou Fu as it was very soft and silky smooth even though it was being deep fried before hand. The sauce is tasty too which from the aroma of mushroom.

Lastly, is the Stir Fried Kai Lan with Shrimp Paste (RM25). This vegetable dish was served in the claypot. You will smell and taste the strong smell of Xiao Xing Wine. Simple and tasty dish.

When I looked around, almost every table have ordered the same dish like us. Overall food experience was good, I will be back again for other dishes.

Barbaque! Smile Mar 23, 2016

Categories : Thai | Japanese | Restaurant | Buffet | BBQ

BBQ Town restaurant concept is similar to Barbeque Plaza. I like to eat Barbaque Plaza very much. However, the nearest outlet to me is Sg Wang and Berjaya Times Square which the mall that I dislike to go. In order to enjoy barbeque moment, I have paid a visit to BBQ Town at Mid Valley. Eat All you can at RM32.80++ inclusive of beverage. Is almost the same price like Barbaque Plaza. The different is one is halal and non-halal.

It is a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was very packed. I was waited for 10mins to get a table. Have a quick order from the server, I want lamb, beef and chicken slices please. Then, proceed to the counter to pick the ingredients. They have most of the “balls” such as Chicken Ball, Lobster ball, Fish Ball, Vegetables ball, Tou fu etc. I can wait to start cooking immediately. Let’s start grilling now!

Apart from the ingredient, they served Sushi as well. I have picked few of my favourite sushi such as Kapamaki, Tuna Mayo, Tamago, Inari Sushi etc.

Also, the best part of the barbeque is All you can eat Soft Serve. They come in 2 variants- Green Tea and Chocolate with topping available such as Chocolate rice, Peanuts, nata de coco etc.
