overrated briyani place... Cry Aug 08, 2014

This place is highly overrated. Their briyani is just so so and it doesn't come cheap. There are so many better briyani joints out there. The outlet itself is clean and service is good but sadly food is of poor quality and taste. Not saying they are bad but average at best.

Great place for any time of the day. Usually am here for breakfast as I love their idli, tosai, puri, capati or roti canai. Especially with the accompanying chicken curry. Heard their lunch time mix rice is good but have yet to try it.
Food is always of consistent taste and quality. Service is prompt and friendly. Location is clean, airy and you have a choice of AC or non AC seating. Value wise they are reasonably priced. Highly recommended for those craving for Indian cuisine.

This is the home of the famous Robert's char kway teow (ckt). Majority of the customers are for him and during lunch or dinner except a long wait. However its well worth it. He remembers his customers and always makes as ordered. Unlike most places he won't make a fuss if you have any preferences. Quality and taste has not changed in the last 10 years I have been frequenting his stall.
Besides ckt the economy mix rice stall is also famous during lunch time especially with the students who live nearby. Then we have the fried rice stall which is open for lunch and dinner. You can also find popiah, laksa, curry mee, prawn mee and kway teow soup here. Lots of varieties and all of good quality and taste.
In terms of environment this is a typical Chinese kopitiam. It can get noisy and stuffy. It is clean but not spotless. Expect greasy floors. Definitely will recommend this place for a meal.

average at best... OK Aug 08, 2014

This place seems to have lost its touch. It used to be the defacto nasi lemak joint but sadly no more. Now the nasi lemak is average at best. Great selection of sides but the rice lacks coconut flavour and the sambal just so so. Price wise reasonable being in KL however they need to find their flavours again or soon will just be forgotten.

Wong Ah Wah is located along Jalan Alor which has tonnes of restaurants and stalls. However this is the best of them all. Their number 1 seller has to be the BBQ chicken wings. It is so freaking addictive that you will just keep eating until you burst. Its packed full of flavour, juicy & tender. They also make good Hokkien mee with good wok hey which is very important. Do not forget to also try out their grilled seafood like cockles, sting ray, clams and crab. All fresh and very yummy. They do them in various styles so ask for recommendations.
This place is mostly for dinner and open up until wee hours of the morning. It is almost always packed but service is fast so turnaround is quick. Not to be missed!
