awesome food at good value... Smile Aug 08, 2014

Wong Ah Wah is located along Jalan Alor which has tonnes of restaurants and stalls. However this is the best of them all. Their number 1 seller has to be the BBQ chicken wings. It is so freaking addictive that you will just keep eating until you burst. Its packed full of flavour, juicy & tender. They also make good Hokkien mee with good wok hey which is very important. Do not forget to also try out their grilled seafood like cockles, sting ray, clams and crab. All fresh and very yummy. They do them in various styles so ask for recommendations.
This place is mostly for dinner and open up until wee hours of the morning. It is almost always packed but service is fast so turnaround is quick. Not to be missed!

best roti canai out there! Smile Aug 08, 2014

This place has the best roti canai in Malaysia. Nothing beats their original plain roti canai which is think, crispy, flaky & light. Goes great with the dhal & sambal on the side. If you prefer variety than their other rotis like cheese, egg, kaya, banana or valentine (sardine, diced onions & carrots) will not disappoint. Whatever the filling the roti remains light & crispy.
If roti isn't your thing they also make a mean maggi goreng & sup kambing. Heard they also have good nasi lemak but it seems to be sold out every time I'm there. To wash it all down don't forget to try their frothy & smooth teh tarik.
The restaurant is an unassuming stall by the road side but the quality is beyond that. Don't worry it is clean & comfortable. Service is friendly & attentive. Decently priced to boot. Not to be missed!

yummy food but crowded... Smile Aug 08, 2014

Have always been meaning to try this place and finally did last week. Its located in Bangsar where there are many cafes and competition is stiff. This place stands out and is always crowded which is the only downside but a good one for them I guess. Service was good and attentive which is different from what the others are stating below. Maybe I was just lucky.
The main draw obviously is the food. We had the 2 highly recommended items which were the Big Breakfast and Banana Pancakes. The breakfast was just so so but the pancakes were to die for. Especially the butterscotch sauce. Make sure to ask for double servings of those. The coffee is also top draw. Smooth and creamy. Will definitely return to try more of their dishes. They have some unique choices.
This is a very nice place for breakfast and brunch. The interior is cosy and great for couples or friends to just hang out and chat. Not that large a place though hence the crowd. Definitely recommended

awesome sports bar! Smile Aug 08, 2014

This is like my 2nd home. Being a hardcore football fan any sports bar becomes a favourite but this place takes the cake. If not mistaken they have 32 LCD screens showing every game possible. It is not closed up hence isn't smoky and has a nice ambiance to it. No loud music to annoy or dance floor to take up space. Just a typical hangout sports bar. If its intimate setting you are looking for their outdoor area would fit the bill.
They serve up a handful of draft options (guiness, tiger & kilkenny) and all the liquor you can imagine. They make good strong cocktails as well so the ladies have something. Not all about drinks though as they have really good food to boot. Their steak sandwich, shepherd's pie, chicken wings and fish n chips are awesome. Good quality and consistently yummy.
Service is attentive and prompt. Most folks I bring here will end up returning and making it their 2nd home too. There aren't many sports bars around especially one that really focuses on the theme. Must visit!

superb seafood! Smile Aug 08, 2014

Have heard of this place and finally visited it this week. It does get packed over the weekends so finding a seat might be an issue but once you do just order & before you know it the food arrives. Started the night with some grilled cockles which is awesome. It didn't come with sand or grime. Then the rest of the dishes arrived. We had curry baked stingray, kangkung belacan & butter prawns with their addictive fried rice. All were really yummy, fresh and of good quality. Ended the dinner with the you char kway with home made kaya. Simply divine and great way to cap the night with some drinks. Price wise I was surprised as was expecting more but turned out decent for seafood. Worth every penny.
Service can be a hit or miss. As they are busy and packed sometimes you may get overlooked. Just find the boss and shout for him. He'll definitely sort you out. Don't expect much in terms of atmosphere as this is a typical hawker type restaurant.
Definitely recommended for all. Am looking forward myself to try out their other dishes.
