You wouldn't have missed this newly opened burger shop if you have been staying or passing by SS15, Subang recently. It is a corner shop located at the row next to the row where Maybank and Public Bank are located in SS15. You could easily locate the Pink Monster when you make a turning after Public Bank, whereby it is the old premise of Burgertory.

The shop location is much easier to locate than finding a parking there. This is a 2-storey restaurant and the ordering counter is located just right at the entrance. The interior of the shop is very simple and colourful. You will feel cheerful and young once you enter the restaurant. I believe this will be a new hangout place for students studying nearby. This cute little "pink monster" is the mascot of the restaurant. I hope I can bring one back home...haha

This restaurant is No Pork, No Lard and No Alcohol.
Thai Style Pineapple Fried Rice is one of the signature dish here. I would say this fried rice is up to standard. The chicken is fried with spices and it is still tender, not to dry.

Johan Nasi Lemak. For this Nasi Lemak, I think the rice is slightly too dry and the sambal is on the sweet side than the being spicy, which may not be my cup of tea.

Clam Vongole. They are definately generous in serving of the dish. The clam is big and juicy, and it goes well with the pasta.

Lamb Kofta Pasta. I would say you would like this if you are a lamb lover. The lamb is tender and juicy.

Spaghetti Seafood Caborana. I love this dish very much. The sauce is creamy and just nice the taste. My favourite pasta at the moment.

You may add a Non-alcohol Mocktail to go with your pasta for another RM5.

For pizzas, there are various flavours, but mainly based on chicken, lamb and seafood. It is thin-crust base, so you won't feel too heavy finishing up one serving.

Various burgers, you find beef, chicken and lamb burger here. For me, I like the Teriyaki Chicken Burger and Lamb Burger. Here you may also some sweet patato fries (Not French Fries!) and soft drink for RM5 to go with your burgers.

Besides ordering the main dish or ala carte, there are some side dishes that you can order to share with your friends, such as chicken honey, Calamari Rings, Crispy Onion Rings, Jacket Potatoes and etc. Chicken honey that was served on that day is slight hard and dry. Calamari rings is actually Fried Sotong and it taste nice.
Very very hot

Very very hot

Chicken Fire, a dish specially introduced to us by the manager. This is a super duper spicy chicken. If you love eating hot and spicy food, do try it, but cautious to those can't take spicy food. Do have your drinks ready if you ever want to try it.

Maracaju Pineapple tea, one of the signature mocktail here. It tastes sour but very appertizing and refreshing indeed. The one behind it is Maracaju Milkshake, tastes sour also. But a slight flaw here will be the serving time. My drink took about 30 minutes before it gets to my table. This is something that need to be improved.

Overall, the food here is quite nice. Many options for you to choose, therefore you may need to pay a few more visits to have them all tried out. Definitely not a bad place to hang around, especially for teenagers and students to gather with your friend during break times.

Saturday Brunch Smile Sep 08, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Café | Burgers / Sandwiches

It was a pleasant morning to go out and enjoy a decent brunch in a cozy cafe. Crave cafe is located in Oasis square, Ara Damansara. Oasis square has a concept like a boulevard which consists of all kinds of cafea and restaurants as well as some other commercial activities. It is quite easy accessible and the traffic was ok on a Saturday morning. Parking fees is require here and they are charging RM1 per entry on weekends and public holidays which I found to be quite decent and you can just relax and enjoy your coffee whole day here.

Here you may find a fountain type scenery and it would nice to walk around here to enjoy a breezy weekend morning.

Chai Latte or Dirty Chai Latte is a special drink that you may find in Crave. Chai drink is something that you may not find in most of the cafes and this is my first time tasting it. As it don't really take coffee, I opted for Ice Chai Latte instead. The taste was special and I think it's still within my acceptance level.

This is the Chicken Pesto

Good Morning Australia! - served with two poached eggs with beef bacon, avocado puree and feta cheese with wholemeal Artisan bread. The whole combination is just nice and filling.

Honey Glazed Roast Chicken - baked quarter chicken served with homemademash potato abd grilled garden vegetables. This dish did amaze me as the chicken was roasted just nice, not too dry the meat and the skin was crispy. With the sauce, it was just perfect. Just that the chicken was a bit skinny.

Crave's BIg Breakfast - 2 sunny side up eggs, bratwurst sausage, beef bacon, baked beans, roasted cherry tomatoes and mushroom served with wholemeal artisan bread. It would be much better if the mushroom and cherry tomatos could be served in bigger portion.

Crave's Aussie Burger - homemade beef patty, topped with beef bacon, cheese, egg, tomato, pineapple, and beetroot served with fries. It was indeed a very filling burger..Haha.

It's dessert time and we are served 2 types of cakes, which is Hazelnut Macaron Torte and Nutella Mille Crepe. Both are ok. Hazelnut Macaron Torte has more texture while Nutella Mille Crepe really has a Nutella taste. Not a bad dessert. Selling at RM10 per slice, each.

Last but not least, it's ice cream time. According to the shop, it was their homemade ice cream. They have green tea flavour, apple crumble flavor, rocky road flavor and salted caramel flavor. I personally would prefer rocky road where you can find nuts and marshmallow inside the ice-cream. The green tea flavor is abit lacking of the green tea taste.

Crave would be a place that you could spend your Sunday morning, relaxing your mind and enjoying your coffee there.

Thai Food Experience Smile Sep 01, 2015

Categories : Thai | Hotel Dining | Seafood

Chang Thai Restaurant, a newly opened Thai restaurant located in Valenza Hotel along Old Klang road, just 5 minutes drive from Mid Valley.

The hotel has ample free parking for the customers and the restaurant is 9just located on the left hand side after you enter the lobby. The restaurant is quite spacious and cozy, would be a quite romantic restaurant to dine in for dinner.

Pandan Cooler is a specialty drink here. It is rich with pandan smell and flavour. Not too sweet and yet refreshing.

Miaeng Kum is an appertizer. It was served with traditional betel leaves, roll with 7 condiments consisting roasted peanut, coconut flakes, crispy dried shrimps, diced lime, ginger, onion and chili padi. The last but not least is the plum sauce. You may adjust the condiments quality and the plum sauce is the must - have condiment. Then you need to chew it slowly before you swallow. It was a new experience for me and the taste was not bad indeed.

This is the combo Platter which consists of fish cake, fresh popiah, spring roll and shrimp toast served with Mango salad.

Minced chicken. Nice but cautious for those who can't take too spicy.

Stirred fried Paku with belacan chili. Fresh!

Thai Green Curry. Not very spicy. Chicken is soft. Great to go with rice.

Plah Ka Pong Neung Manau, a dish with steamed sea bass with signature lime and chili padi dressing. The fish was steamed jus nice and very appertizing.

Tempura squid served with sweer Thai chili sauce

Tom yum soup with shrimps- a must-have dish when you dine in a Thai restaurant. The spiciness was something I can take and the shrimps were big and fresh.

Plah Pao- Snow fish, salted baked sea bass to retain its original taste, complimented with 2 signature sauces, pickles, lettuce for wrapping. It would be nice if I could eat the skin of the fish as well.
I hardly go to Thai restaurant or having Thai food because I can't really take too spicy food. But I found that the spicy level of the food in this restaurant is just nice to me and I also get to experience different kinds of Thai food here. So overall, it could be a nice place to have some nice Thai dishes. And it is having promotion of  20% off the food here. T&C please refer to the restaurant.

It was a great experience to dine in Rocku Yakiniku.

The restaurant is very cozy with a stage for live band performance and magic show.
Stage

Stage

They have live band every night, Jazz night every Wednesday and Magic show on every Friday. Here they serve BBQ Buffet style of free flow of meat including beef, pork, lamb, chicken and seafood. And they also have a buffet line for some cooked food and vegetables.

It is indeed a paradise for meat lovers. The meats served are fresh and readily coveres with some spicy miso sauce which made the meats taste much better after cooked.
The buffet is limited to 100 mins. They also served 3 different sauces for dipping with your meat which are spicy miso, ponzu and chili sauce.

The restaurant manager even advised us that we should start our BBQ with pork bacon because grilling the pork bacon will produce some fats and oil on the grill which make the grilling after that easier and won't stick on the grill.

I personally love the enoki and miso soup a lot. Should try.
They have green tea selling at RM3 per jug, non - refillable. And they also sell sake, juice and soft drinks as well.
To end the buffet, undoubtedly should be the ice cream served here. They have 3 flavours: Coconut, Mango and Deep Dark Chocolate. Mango and Deep Dark Chocolate ' s are stronge. I personally love Coconut flavour more because it was very aromatic and refreshing after 100 mins of meat feast.
The sake and ice cream are not included in the buffet price. The ice cream is RM3.90 per scoop.

One thing to compliment the buffet here is you won't be having the charcoal BBQ smell on your clothes and hair after your meal.
Supplementary Information:
Weekends is open till 12 midnight whereas weekdays till 11pm.

CNY meal OK Feb 16, 2015
Categories : Taiwanese | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Ramen/Udon/Soba

This is the CNY meal introduced by Taiwan Recipe this year. It consists of 9 courses of dishes including 2 desserts. The meal started with prosperity yee sang where they not using the normal raw fish but fried fish with vegetables and fruits sliced. It was really nice and healthy and suitable for those who can't take raw fish and the sauces made it just nice for me, not too sour. I personally like the fatt choi lion head and double blessing chicken wings a lot. The chicken wing is breaded with some honey outside of the skin. But the lion head dish and the four seasons waxed meat rice maybe too small in serving for 10 person. The dessert Osmanthus jelly was delicious, not too soft and not too hard, very refreshing dessert after a meal. Good one. But a minus point for the red dates dessert because there were seeds in the dates. It would be much more better if the seeds can be removed prior serving because it wouldbe more convenient as a one-bite dessert. The green apple and kiwi with vinegar juice was nice also. Very appetising.
