Tong Pak Fu Smile May 30, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Café | Desserts

The desserts shops nowadays are opened everywhere in almost every shopping mall or even in row of shops. Yet, I so far I heard quite many people around me were recommending Tong Pak Fu. This was the first time I tried the desserts at Tong Pak Fu as I am not a sweet food lover.

When I flipped over their menu, I found out that actually the price here is always a little bit higher than other desserts shops. At first I was quite attracted by their durian desserts, but after looking at the price, I changed my mind again because it's quite expensive (I think around Rm15). At last I ordered a Watermelon Milk Snow Ice (RM7.80), as I think it would be healthier and I'm also more prefer to milky desserts. The ice is quite fluffy, I would give it a 4.5/5 marks as it's not too sweet, but the watermelon inside is not sweet enough. The sweetness of watermelon should be ok for me as it's natural sweet, so the sweeter the better it is. Overall, it's quite nice for me.

Again I am going to recommend another famous food at SS2 Murni. This restaurant is selling quite many special food which cannot be found at other restaurants. There is a food here which is quite famous. The Roti Beckham (RM6.50), wondering what is it? It's actually a roti canai base food, wrapping chunk tuna, onion, sausages inside with mayonnaise sauce. I always like to order it as supper. Besides this, there are still many other choices of ingredients to choose, such as Roti Hawaii, Roti Seafood and etc, but Roti Beckham is still my favorite all the time.

This restaurant is located at SS2, it's crowded with people everytime I visit there. It's a mamak, yet the concept of this restaurant is more to fusion food, the food here, ranging from roti canai, nasi lemak, chinese cuisine, western cuisine and some other food which cannot be found at other restaurant.

Big eater!! looking for cheap and big portion spaghetti? Here it's...Before I reveal the price of the spaghetti here, please look at the portion of spaghetti from the photo and guess how much is it...

It's only RM10, I could never find any other place which serves bigger portion than here and cheaper. The taste is quite nice too. I visit here quite often whenever I go to PJ. Besides that, the Mee Raja here is quite famous here too, for the taste and of course the portion.

Duck Noodle OK May 30, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

I was doing part time job during my semester break at Kota Kemuning. My colleague brought me to here and said it is quite famous here. When I reached there, almost every table are occupied. Before I got my seat, I tried to look around, see what other people order. I could see that almost every table also order their signature Duck Drumstick Noodle (Small-RM7.30, BIG-RM8.30). We can choose either dry or soup noodle. I ordered a soup one and my brother ordered a dry one. Actually there is not much difference, just that the soup for the dry set is more concentrated. The soup is quite nice cooked with various herbs likes DangGui, Wolfberry(枸杞) and some herbs which I don't know what it's called. I think the soup is cooked with duck for quite a long time and that's why the soup are so tasteful and the duck drumstick is quite tender yet tasteless because all the essence are in the soup already. The noodle is actually WanTon noodles but served with duck drumstick instead of CharSiew and Wanton (they do sell wanton noodle too).

Many people here also order green color drinks which is quite strange for me . After asking the staff, only I know that it's Pandan Barley and I ordered one of it (RM1.70). It didn't really surprise me. Actually it's not really special, just that it's more aromatic, yet the taste is just normal (for me it's quite tasteless even though I'm not a sweet food lover) and I think it's quite expensive for it.

Fullhouse Lifestyle Cafe OK May 27, 2013

It's located inside the shopping mall of Setia City Mall. The environment is very nice. When I visited there, there are a lot of customers. We went there to celebrate my brother's birthday.

We always like to share the food with each other. I ordered a Spicy Carbonara (RM15.90+). It's a Korean style spaghetti, there is turkey ham, mushroom, onion, a hard boiled- egg and a slice of cheese. The cheese is semi-melted. The sauce is creamy with very mild spicy taste, quite nice. Some people might feel sated eating creamy food, but the mild spice can It also comes along with 2 side dishes (spinach, spicy sausages).

Pan Seared Atlantic Seabass (RM33.90+). The fish is quite fresh, and seared until just right, maintaining the freshness and tenderness of fish.

Pan Seared Salmon Fillet (RM34.90+). This dish is not really nice. The fish is normal, the portion isn't very big. It's served with teriyaki sauce, but the sauce is so salty that I can't eat it with the sauce.

Herbal Thyme Emulsion Chicken Chop (RM16.90+). The taste is just normal, nothing special, its taste is almost like normal BBQ sauce chicken chop.

Seaweed Fish Fillet with Wedges (RM21.90+). It's just normal Fish n Chips with some seaweed powder at top. However they fried the fish until very hard. Maybe they fried it for too long, or maybe the fillet is too thin.

We also ordered some snacks to eat too. Crispy Fried Soft Shell Crab (RM8.90+). It's very crispy, yet we can still taste the flesh of the crab inside. It comes with some fresh salads. Oyster Mornay(RM6.90+) is quite suitable for snack too, especially for cheese lover like me. The cheese is very rich, that it fills up the whole oyster shell (there are some spinach at the bottom). The size of the oyster is quite small though. Mushroom Soup (RM8.90+) is just normal but the price is quite expensive for the small portion of it. It's served in a cup but not in a bowl.

All food are subject to 10% service charge.

Overall, the food here is quite not bad. The price also isn't very high, just above average.
