Sauteed Spicy Herbs Pork Smile Sep 30, 2013

The location of this restaurant is not really strategic because it cannot be seen on the main road and located above of another cafe. I wouldn't know the existence of it if it's not recommended by my friend even though I'm living at this area too. They also provide board games and card for customers. The place is quite comfortable and suitable for hangout with friends or even reading at here.
Sauteed Spicy Herbs Pork RM13.90 nett

Sauteed Spicy Herbs Pork RM13.90 nett

This is the first time I visited here and the staff recommended me Sauteed Spicy Herbs Pork RM13.90 nett. The pork is grilled and then topped with generous portion of cheese and oven baked. The pork is quite tender and they claim that they never use tenderizer which is not easy to find at other place, I would really give a thumb for this. The pork is drenched with tomato paste consists of celery, capsicum, onion which just like Chicken Parmigiana sauce, I wonder why it's called Sauteed Spicy Herbs Pork while it's not spicy at all. It comes along with 3 big scoops and mashed potatoes and fresh salad. The price is really very reasonable for the taste and the portion. I would definitely visit here again.

Marco's Pizza does serve many other food like pasta, and some main courses even though named Marco's Pizza. This gives consumer more choice to choose when dine in there.

I am a spaghetti lover, so I usually will try out every restaurant's spaghetti. This time I ordered a Spaghetti Carbonara w/ Chicken RM21.80++. The sauce is quite different with what I eat at many other places which is creamy, instead this is thicker because they use beaten egg to make the sauce. But, the saltiness of the sauce is a little bit over my acceptance level. sad
And the chicken they use is also disappointing me, the tenderness of the chicken breast is too rough.

Marco's Pizza - Pizza OK Sep 30, 2013

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta

This pizza restaurant is not a franchise restaurant like Pizza Hut, Domino's and etc those. It has only one branch, so it isn't that famous and I wouldn't know this restaurant without the offer on Groupon.

I and another 2 friends visit here around 1pm and it's very hard to find a car parking slots here. We have to parked our car at the housing area nearby.

Like other pizza restaurants, they also serve classic pizza and thin crust pizza. We decided to ordered one thin crust and one classic toast. However, they don't really have much difference, the classic toast pizza dough isn't like Domino's which is fluffy inside instead it's biscuit-like crust.
BBQ Chicken Supreme - Large RM31.80++

BBQ Chicken Supreme - Large RM31.80++

We ordered a BBQ Chicken Supreme - Large RM31.80++. The taste is very different from ordinary pizza, because the BBQ taste is very overwhelming. I personally quite like the taste. The toppings are marinated chicken, hams, onions, pineapples and mozzarella cheese.
Marinara - Large RM28.80

Marinara - Large RM28.80

We ordered another Marinara - Large RM28.80++. This pizza is quite disappointing me, the ingredients are very less and aren't very fresh. There are some small shrimps, mussels, fish, black olive etc. The taste isn't really nice and the portion of the cheese is very less compared to other pizza restaurants.

Besides those traditional steamed dim sum, many restaurants are now also selling fried dim sum due to many demands from consumers. Same does this restaurant, but not so many varieties.

Fried Bean Curd Skin Prawn Roll 炸鲜虾腐皮卷 RM4.30 is also the must order food here, it's fried to crispy and served hot with some mayonnaise sauce.

Fried Stuffed Eggplants 炸酿茄子 RM3.80 is also my favorite here. It's served with some bean paste sauce.
Fried Taro Dumpling 炸芋角 RM4.30

Fried Taro Dumpling 炸芋角 RM4.30

Fried Taro Dumpling 炸芋角 RM4.30 is not so nice, because it's over fried or maybe they re-fry the pre-fried taro dumplings.

Dim Sum @ Setapak Smile Sep 30, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam | Dim sum

Whenever I am craving for Dim Sum at Setapak, I will surely go for this restaurant, for a few reasons. First, the dimsum is very fresh and delicious. Secondly, the price is very reasonable (Range from RM3 to RM8.50), especially at KL area. Thirdly, it's convenience for the residents here because it's just in walking distance from my living place and it opens from 7am until midnight 3am. So it's my favorite place for supper in the midnight.
烧卖 Siew Mai RM3.30

The 烧卖 Siew Mai RM3.30 here is very famous and it's a must order food for me. The meat is very fresh and chewy with lean meat but not lots of fat.
黄金流沙包 Custard Bun RM4.30

黄金流沙包 Custard Bun RM4.30

黄金流沙包 Custard Bun RM4.30 is also a recommended food here by others people, but I did try other better buns at other place, so it's just normal for me. I will order it sometimes if I am hungry and going for more than dim sum.

Recommended Dish(es):  Siew Mai
