mango + pomelo Smile Dec 13, 2012

Hui Lau Shan is pretty famous dessert shop in Hong Kong and is currently my favourite place to hang out for desserts. Over ninety percent of their dessert consist of mangoes or you can say this dessert shop specializes in selling mango desserts. The picture above is the mango and pomelo dessert. There were quite a number of mango cubes in the dessert and the mangoes were a little overripe so it had a sourish aftertaste which goes well with the bitter sweetness of the pomelo.

banana leaf rice OK Dec 13, 2012

Came here with a bunch of colleagues for lunch as we were told this is one of the affordable places for banana leaf rice. As usual, everything was served on a piece of fresh banana leaf and you can opt to eat your meal with your bare hands or use the cutlery provided. The banana leaf rice here is quite affordable as it cost under RM7 if you go vegetarian and an extra RM1 if you pick a meat dish. Some of my colleagues would go for double rounds as it was free refill for the rice, curry and vegetables. The papadam here is a hit and miss as some was still crispy while there were pieces that was too oily or soft.

Chocolate ice blended OK Dec 13, 2012

One of the newer treands currently being exploited by McDonald is the cafe concept called McCafe. There are more of these cafes as compared to a few months back. The price charged are slightly more expensive than their regular black coffee but still way below what coffee houses like Starbucks are charging. The picture above is my order of chocolate ice blended with whipped cream. There is a layer of chocolate dusting on top of the cream and if you mix it thoroughly with the drink, it becomes more creamy and less sweet.

chocolate milkshake OK Dec 13, 2012

If you plan to come here for breakfast, do come early as the queue is long and parking spots are limited too unless you choose to park in the mall nearby. I was quite lucky as me and my friends only waited for less than five minutes including a spot for parking. The breakfast here is quite heavy and lasted me till way past lunchtime. One of my favourite drink from this cafe is their chocolate milkshake. It was rich is cocoa content and the drink was blended till very smooth as the ice melts instantly in your mouth.

bacon with mushroom OK Dec 13, 2012

The only time I visit Viva Home is when I wanna catch up on movies as the cinema there is one of the cheapest in town. This place has several interesting eats especially the yakitori menu. Its definetaly a non halal place as the bacon here is real deal and was quite tasty too. The picture above is my mushroom wrapped with bacon yakitori. The mushroom was crunchy and juicy and it goes well with the saltiness of the bacon.
