Yummy Teochew Cruisine Smile Jan 06, 2012

While waiting for our dishes, the Appetizer and kungfu tea are served. I really like the very concentrate tea, cleaning our pellets for good food.

The fried oyster omelet 蚝煎 here is a must try. The eggs are fried till very crisp, and there's generous amount of oysters. Served with fish sauce (different from other places that usually serve with chilli sauce), the overall flavour of the dish is greatly enhanced!

BBQ is another favourite of mine. But do bear in mind that this dish needs 30min of preparation time. The meat might not be as tender as you wish, but the crispy skin is definitely A plus!

Gorgeous meal Smile Jan 06, 2012

Originated from Singapore, IL Lido is such a gorgeous restaurant that would give you a great fine dining experience.

The Pan Roasted Scallops is so fresh, served with Roast Garlic Cream and Crispy Prosciutto, I really like this starter.

If you are a fans of Foie Gras, then you should try the Pan Fried Goose Liver with Saba Wine Must and Sweet Potato Galette. Very well-done, and one won't have the oily sicky feeling after having the dish.

Another favourite of mine is the Squid Ink Tonnarelli with Spicy Crab and Tarragon Foam. Natural seafood flavour really matches very well with the salty squid ink. Thumbs up!

Main dish is a surprise. The Pan Roasted Atlantic Cod fish is very fresh, and it is served with the preserved Cabbage sort of .. and the Pumpkin Sauce definitely add a twist to the dish.

The Roasted Sukling Pig with Plum Sauce is quite a disappointment though. The pork skin is not as crispy as I've expected, but the meat itself is very well-seasoned.

As for dessert, you would never gone wrong with Molten Lava Chocolate Cake that served with Vanilla Ice Cream. The warm melted chocolate from the cake is rich, and definitely is a perfect finish to a gorgeous meal.

Authentic Hainanese meal Smile Jan 05, 2012

If you are craving for authentic hainanese dishes, you should go to Yut Kee I would say. One of the signature dish is Roti Babi. The bread filled with pork slices that were stir-fried with some onions, the whole thing was then coated with egg, and pan-fried. Very yummy, thumbs up!

Roti Bakar with home-made kaya is a simple snack, yet the kaya is flavourful, though not as smooth as those you find in other places.

Another signature dish is the BBQ Pork. The meat is tender and the skin is very crispy, along with the apple sauce, this dish is simply irresistible.

We also try the all-time favourite Hainanese Chicken Chop and Pork Chop. Served with gravy, the chicken chop is quite nice and tender. However, the pork chop is a disappointment as the meat is rubbery hard.

Tarts for tea break Smile Jan 05, 2012

I am a tart lover at all time. I was so excited to discover this little tart stall - John King. The name itself is cool I reckon.

There are quite a number of different flavours and fillings for you to choose. The tarts are of delicate appearance, and look really yummy.

I bought 3 - Portugenese egg tart; Black sesame tart; milk tart. I personally like the sesame tart the most. The filling is so rich in sesame paste, not so sweet too. The milk tart has a very smooth filling, good try! Portugese egg tart is quite ordinary though.

Great chill out place Smile Jan 05, 2012

Located at the Garden shopping mall, next to Midvalley, Alexis is always packed with happy eaters. The quality of the food here is superb I would say.

Hubby and I ordered a Clam Chowder to share. When the soup is served, we realized that the chef is kind enough to divide the soup into two portions. Very sweet of them!

For mains, we ordered Pappardelle. The pasta is very rich in flavour, creamy and cheesy, sinfully tasty!!

Frutti di Mare, the seafood pizza is delicious too! The pizza base is crisp, and the topping is generously filled with lots of fresh seafood! It's absolutely gorgeous!

Dessert wise, we tried the Tiramisu. It's so different from the traditional tiramisu, as this one is topped with lots of crunchy caramelized nuts, thumbs up!
