"great" service Cry May 31, 2013

My partner and I ordered a one quarter grilled chicken each with two sides respectively and a bottomless soft drink to go with it. We waited quite long for dinner to be served but it was ok since the restaurant was packed but to our dismay, the patrons who came in later than us was served food first while we still had to wait. As for the food quality, it was nothing compared to the other Nando's branch I have ever visited. The chicken was slightly burned and overcooked while the side dishes were appalling. The corn on the cob that I ordered was burnt as well and it was not juicy. It felt like the corn was left out too long since it was dry and cold when I bite into it. The coleslaw which my partner ordered was not fresh and it had a sourish taste which was very different from what we had in the other branches.

walnut cream OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Chinese | Café | Desserts

Recently tried their walnut cream as my partner told me that peanut cream is a fairly common Chinese dessert and we should try out something unique so we decided to go for their walnut cream. The walnut cream is much thicker than the peanut cream dessert and it has a bitter aftertaste that sticks to your throat when you swallow it. Although not so smooth, you should finish the dessert before it gets cold as it would curdle up when cool.

mango ice shaved OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

Apart from traditional hot desserts, Tong Pak Fu is also famous for their ice shaved dessert and whenever I go to their café I would order their bestseller which is the mango ice shaved. The mango ice shaved is surprisingly sweet and has a hint of milkiness aftertaste. The dessert also comes with aloe jelly balls and tapioca balls which complement the ice shaved.

chinese dessert OK May 31, 2013

One of my favourite hot Chinese desserts is the black glutinous rice cream with coconut milk. There are not a lot of restaurants or cafes selling it and one of them selling it is Tong Pak Fu. I do not really like the dessert sold by Tong Pak Fu as I feel that they used too much coconut milk in the dessert thus making it too thick and creamy and you can’t taste any of the black glutinous rice in the dessert.

wafers OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

Wafer and ice-cream goes well together and this is a fine testament from one of the longest serving places of this delightful dessert. Each wafer served comes with a scoop or two of vanilla ice-cream and drenched with strawberry syrup. The wafer is still pipping hot when served and this helps in melting the ice-cream. One of my must orders whenever I dined at A & W.
