Appu Uncle Curry House is one of the main competitors of Kanna Curry House as both are located in the same area (Less than 5 minutes drive from each other). My friend told me their foods are priced reasonably compared to Kanna Curry House. Me, my boyfriend and sister went there to try their Banana Leaf Rice. Appu Uncle Curry House is located next to a Mechanic Shop, Section 19. They serve Banana Leaf Rice and other dishes as well. Moreover, they are also popular for their Nasi Lemak. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived at 4pm and it was filling up later on for an afternoon tea break. The ambiance of the restaurant was okay. We ordered 2 Banana Leaf Rice and Mooru Ais.

Mooru Ais @ Rm 1.70

Banana Leaf Rice was just Mediocre for us. The curries are so dilute and it has a taste of Rasam in all the curries. We just eat our Rice with Rasam, Yogurt, Pickle and Fried Chillies and curries and vegetables was left untouched.

Pity-full meal for us. Even for a price of RM 5.50 per Banana Leaf Rice, I really think it does not deserve a second visit in my opinion. They really failed to impress me on my first visit.

I first tried Antipodean Cafe at Bangsar and I have really fallen in love with their Big Breakfast. So when I know that they opened their new branch at Atria Mall, nobody can be that happy as I am. It was too crowded several times when I was shopping at Atria Mall so I have to drop my plan and have dinner somewhere else but this round when we went there around 8.30pm it was not crowded so we decided to have dinner there. Antipodean Cafe is located at Ground Floor, Atria Mall (Opposite Mango Shop). We were welcomed by the staff at the entrance and we are required to order our food before seating and that is little unpleasant for us as we have to order it really quick and we were left with little time to browse through the menu (Eventough the choices are limited, I guess we still need time to think what we wanted to have for dinner). The ambiance was nice with good lightings and comfortable as the seating area is located nearby fountain. We ordered Beef Burger and All Day Breakfast.

The Big Breakfast is another disappointment. 1 slice of bread with a little amount of butter spread, 2 poached eggs, tiny tomatoes with stingy seasonings and few slices of Bacon. It is one of the disappointing Big Breakfast I have eaten in a while. Just that Bacon and Poached eggs are good.

All Day Brekfast @ RM 23

I was really shocked when the Beef burger was served to us. Mini burger with stingy fries and salad for RM 24.On top of that, it was not delicious too. They really spread the fries so that it looks pretty much a lot. Totally not worth to pay Rm 24 for such a small burger.

Beef Burger @ RM 24

It was a disastrous dinner for us. I visited their branch with full of hope and excited but in return what I get was a disastrous meal experience. We have to find another place for supper in the heavy rain as we were feeling hungry and most of the cafe was closed (10pm). We have no choice but to have Texas Chicken for supper. Will I drop by again? It is a big "NO NO place for me". Seriously!! It is not a problem for us to pay RM 30 for a meal provided that the meal is worth the price in terms of food and quality.

This round we went Quartet to do our assignment as according to my boyfriend, he is more productive doing assignment in cafe rather than in the house. If he does in the house, he ends up playing game more than doing assignment. Quartet is located at Taman Tun DR. Ismail (In a neighbourhood area). It will be very easy to locate this cafe by using Waze. The cafe serves Beverages, Desserts, Bagel and Pasta. The ambiance of the cafe was good and it was crowded with people studying or using laptops and it motivates me more to do my assignments. I ordered Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Bagel with Additional Poached Egg, Flat White and Typically Mango.

Typically Mango tasted okay. Don't have strong mango flavour and it just tasted blend with yogurt and sweet.

Typically Mango @ RM 14

Flat White tasted okay but terrible latte art.

Flat White @ RM 10.50

Smoked Salmon Cream cheese Bagel was okay. The dressing for the salad tasted weird for me and I still prefer thousand island or sesame dressing for my salad dressing. Bagel was good and I added Poached Egg @ RM 3 as I loved to have smoked salmon with poached egg. Next time, I should just order Bagel with cream cheese filling and add additional poached egg because it tasted much better than having with the smoked salmon. Too many vegetable fillings, gives a mixed taste and does not get along.

Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Bagel @ RM 19.50

Overall, it was okay tea time for us. Expensive and the foods are just mediocre. Just the positive feedback is friendly service, free Wi-Fi and easy to get car parking.

I was so happy to know that there is a restaurant in Fraser Business Park that serves Hunan Cuisine. Something new for me to have other than Mamak and Hawker foods. So I was very excited as I never tried Hunan Cuisine before. After my meeting with my friend. I went to Restaurant Xiang Man Qiang for dinner. Restaurant Xiang Man Qiang is located at Fraser Business Park (Same row with Secret Recipe). They serve Hunan Cuisine. Hunan Cuisine is a type of Chinese food that is more towards Spicy, Oily and Salty taste. Something new for me compare to my regular Chinese food. We were greeted upon entering. The ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable and cozy.

Spicy Chicken Cube was delicious and it's amazing to eat with rice.

Spicy Chicken Cube @ RM 35

The meat was full of flavour, fresh and it looks adorable. Too Spicy but I loved it. One of my favourite dishes in the restaurant.

Hot & Spicy Baby Lobster @ RM 69

Steamed scallop was delicious. It is meaty and has a good kick of garlic taste in it.

Steamed Scallops with Vermicelli @ RM 39

Garlic Fried Ribs was tasty and the meat breaks apart from the bone easily.

Garlic Fried Ribs @ RM 49

The Stone pot frog was served in a spicy sauce (No comments as I don’t eat frogs).

Stone Pot Frog @ RM 39

1) Pork + Cucumber was a lovely combination and taste was addictive for me. Dip it in the spicy sauce and enjoy. Loved it!! Pork on the Hanger @ RM 32

2)Golden corn was sweet and it is one of the dishes that I really enjoyed having. It balances the spicy taste from the foods. Must order item for me. Golden Corn @ RM 19

3) Fish soup was tasty and pickled vegetable (Cabbage) adds a lovely flavour to the soup. My sister loved it. Boiled Fish With Pickled Cabbage @ RM 49

Bored with a normal century egg, try it with chilli here. It just pack the punch of heat that you are looking for.

Century Egg with Chilli @ RM19

Pumpkin Bread tasted good and it’s the best dish to end the meal.

Pumpkin Bread @ RM 19

It was a lovely dinner and most importantly I really enjoyed myself trying new cuisine. It has its own unique taste that is totally different from my normal Chinese food. Moreover, this restaurant also tones down their spicness and oily taste to suit Malaysians tastebuds. My favourite dishes are Pork on the Hanger, Golden Corn, Hot & Spicy Baby Lobster and Pumpkin Bread. If you wanted to try new cuisine like me, give a try to this restaurant.

Thanks for the delicious meal.

I wanted to have something clear and simple for my lunch so I recommend Restaurant Foo Chow to my Boyfriend and he agrees to bring me there for lunch. Restaurant Foo Chow is located at Pudu. They serve Fish Ball Noodles, Red Wine Chicken, Side Snacks and Beverages. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived around 11am and we find our own place to sit. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean and comfortable. We ordered Foochow Red Wine Chicken, Foochow Fish Ball (5 Pieces), Foochow Fish Ball Noodle and Barley.

Barley @ RM 1.80

Fish Ball Noodles was yummy. It ticks all my criteria. The noodle was smooth and goes perfect with the soup. Moreover, the salted vegetables adds an extra taste to the soup.

Foochow Fish Ball Noodles @ RM 5

Foo Chow Red Wine Chicken was a simple and comforting dish. My Boyfriend loved it. It has a rich Red Wine taste in it.

Foochow Red Wine Chicken @ RM 9

Foochow Fish Ball (5 Pieces) @ RM 1 per piece.

Foochow Fish Ball was bouncy and delicious. It is a must try item for me.

Overall,it was a good lunch for us. The foods are delicious but the staff/person who took our order is a kind of rude to us. For us, service is also one of the important criteria that a restaurant must have but this restaurant failed to do so. Second visit? I will think about it.
