Most of the people staying nearby Damansara Uptown & Damansara Utama should be familiar with their existence by now. They have been operating in this area for 2 years now, but it is too shame for me that I never had time to drop by this Japanese Restaurant before. Finally, here I am for lunch. It is run by a Hong Kong chef who has the love for Japanese cuisine. After working in the F&B industry in Hong Kong for years, he decided to move his restaurant business to Malaysia as he fell in love with the laid back and relaxed environment in Malaysia. Wakon Japanese Restaurant is located Damansara Uptown (Next to Frisson Coffee). Wakon has a very simple menu which mainly consists of grilled dishes such as Pork Neck Skewers, BBQ Squid, BBQ Chicken Wings and many more. On top of these, Wakon offers ala carte menu such as rice options, ramen and their signature such as Black Truffle Mixed with Udon. The ambiance of the place was simple and comfortable Japanese Izakaya-style interior. They have 2 types of seating area. Open spaced dining seating area and private room.

Crab Roe Salad as an appetizer while waiting for the foods.

Crab Roe Salada @ RM13.90

Wasabi Gyoza has a nice twist to it. Yeah!! Perfectly Pan-Fried Gyoza with creamy Wasabi on top rather than dipping it with shredded ginger and vinegar. It was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. In additional, Wasabi really adds an additional kick to it. The best thing about it is that the flavour was not too strong and it is suitable for everyone.

Wasabi Gyoza @ RM14.90

BBQ Pork Belly was super good. It smells so tempting that will make you loose your patient in taking picture. It was juicy and tender and just melts in my mouth. It is one of my favourite parts in the pork and I guess most of us love Pork belly right??

BBQ Pork Belly @ RM6.90

BBQ Pork Neck Meat was tender and caramelized perfectly. They use an electric charcoal to prepare the skewers instead of real charcoal to avoid having the smoke trapped inside the restaurant and to ensure customers enjoy the food in a good ambiance. Who like to dine-in in a smoky place right??

BBQ Pork Neck Meat @ RM7.90

BBQ Squid was not chewy and cooked at perfection. Yummy!!

BBQ Squid @ RM18.90

Everyone loves Chicken Wing. What if told you that it is something extra special that you gonna be crazy about it?? (If you are a crazy fan of Tobiko as well?? Yeah!! Their chicken wing is stuffed with Tobiko and my first impression was "WOW, damn good, how they do it" The chicken was tender, juicy and when you bite it, the Tobiko just burst in your mouth "WOW"

Mentaiko Chicken Wings @ RM12.90 (1 set 2 pcs)

BBQ Brinjal was good and not overcooked.

BBQ Brinjal @ RM9.90

Scrumptious combination of udon, Truffles and Tobiko. It has a unique taste makes you addictive for it. Good!!!

Black Truffle Mixed Handmade Udon @ RM46.90

Filling bowl of Tomato Udon consists of tomato and corn. Tomato lovers, this Udon is especially for you.

Tomato Udon @ RM8.50

Udon noodle in a flavorful pork bone marrow bones broth. This is my favorite that I whooped the whole bowl by myself.

Tonkatsu Udon @ RM8.50

Promotion:

1. Purchase RM50 above, get any non-alcohol drink for free.

2. Purchase RM100 and above, get a bottle of 300ml Sake for free.

Head now to enjoy this deal with delicious foods.

It is a delicious lunch for me. Some of the dishes that I enjoyed the most was BBQ Pork Belly, Wasabi Gyoza, Tonkatsu Udon and Mentaiko Chicken Wing. Good and friendly service. Sure drop by again with my sister as she loves Tobiko too. Be patient to wait for the foods as it will be freshly prepared once yu order and will be served piping hot.

I first tried Antipodean Cafe at Bangsar and I have really fallen in love with their Big Breakfast. So when I know that they opened their new branch at Atria Mall, nobody can be that happy as I am. It was too crowded several times when I was shopping at Atria Mall so I have to drop my plan and have dinner somewhere else but this round when we went there around 8.30pm it was not crowded so we decided to have dinner there. Antipodean Cafe is located at Ground Floor, Atria Mall (Opposite Mango Shop). We were welcomed by the staff at the entrance and we are required to order our food before seating and that is little unpleasant for us as we have to order it really quick and we were left with little time to browse through the menu (Eventough the choices are limited, I guess we still need time to think what we wanted to have for dinner). The ambiance was nice with good lightings and comfortable as the seating area is located nearby fountain. We ordered Beef Burger and All Day Breakfast.

The Big Breakfast is another disappointment. 1 slice of bread with a little amount of butter spread, 2 poached eggs, tiny tomatoes with stingy seasonings and few slices of Bacon. It is one of the disappointing Big Breakfast I have eaten in a while. Just that Bacon and Poached eggs are good.

All Day Brekfast @ RM 23

I was really shocked when the Beef burger was served to us. Mini burger with stingy fries and salad for RM 24.On top of that, it was not delicious too. They really spread the fries so that it looks pretty much a lot. Totally not worth to pay Rm 24 for such a small burger.

Beef Burger @ RM 24

It was a disastrous dinner for us. I visited their branch with full of hope and excited but in return what I get was a disastrous meal experience. We have to find another place for supper in the heavy rain as we were feeling hungry and most of the cafe was closed (10pm). We have no choice but to have Texas Chicken for supper. Will I drop by again? It is a big "NO NO place for me". Seriously!! It is not a problem for us to pay RM 30 for a meal provided that the meal is worth the price in terms of food and quality.

My boyfriend is not a big fan of desserts but I am not sure why he is so interested to visit this particular cafe so I brought him to Miru Dessert Cafe on Valentine day night for dessert and he was so happy. We were welcomed at the entrance by the staff and we were informed that it’s currently full house so we have to wait for our turn. After waited for about 5 minutes, we were seated on 4 pax table near the counter. The ambiance of the cafe was lovely with a white colour theme. You have to order and pay at the counter. Once your order is done, they will serve it to the table. He ordered Ferrero Toast and Triple Chocolate Brownie. So greedy right him!!!

Triple Chocolate Brownie was so yummy, I only manage to get 2 spoons and he finished the whole plate of it with my sister when I was busy taking photos of the Ferrero Toast. Pity me!!

Triple Chocolate Brownie @ RM 17

Ferrero Toast was gorgeous. It was thick and toasted beautifully. It was topped with a scoop of vanilla Ice- Cream and crushed Ferrero Rochers Chocolate and Whipped Cream are placed on the side of the plate. So no worries, it is more than enough for the toast.

Ferrero Toast @ RM 17

It was a good Valentine Day celebration with my sister and a handsome boyfriend. Dessert are yummyliciois and good service but be patient to be waited as it will be always full house at night and people will be nonstop coming one by one and it remains full house during our entire stay. We loved it.

"HAPPY VALENTINE DAY EVERYONE"

This year valentine day fall on Sunday and you guys know that Valentine Day is the time where all the best restaurant and cafés are fully booked for lunch and dinner. After calling a couple of restaurants for dinner and lunch reservation, I gave up as everything was fully booked even Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar, Atria Shopping Mall. Not to give up, I decided to walk-in for lunch at Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar as this particular restaurant really attracted me with very good reviews. Manmaru Robatayaki is located at Ground Floor, Atria Shopping Gallery (Next To Nando's) Manmaru Robatayaki is a Japanese restaurant. We were welcomed by the staff at the entrance before seating us 4 pax table. Thank God!! I got a place. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived around 11am but it started filling up soon later on. The ambiance was restaurant was lovely and something different to the usual Japanese restaurant environment. I loved it. It looks classy to me. After going through the menu, I ordered Yee Sang, Volcano Roll, Hotate Chawan Mushi, Tori Katsu Curry Don, Hot Ocha and Spicy Tuna Temaki.

Green Tea @ RM 3

It was my best Yee Sang I have eaten so far. Salmon was so fresh and it just melted in our mouth. I just loved it. All the ingredients were so fresh. Fruits and Home made Plum Sauce gives an additional taste to it. Gorgeous!!

Yee Sang 2-4 @ RM 48

Chicken Katsu Curry was tasty. Fried Chicken was tender and juicy and it was fried to perfections.

Tori Katsu Curry Don @ RM 20

Volcano Roll was light, cheesy and delicious.

Volcano Roll @ RM 38

Spicy Tuna Roll was tasty. Tuna was so fresh and has a nice spicy kick in it. Spicy Tuna Roll was something new I tried and it never fails to impress me.

Spicy Tuna Temaki @ RM 9

Chawmushi was so smooth and silky, while the salmon egg gives a nice kick to it. Yummy!!

Hotate Chawan Mushi @ RM 30

It was an yummyliocus dinner. The presentation was gorgeous and I cannot resist myself from taking photos of it and I even uploaded each of it in Facebook and Instagram that was really a rare case. Usually I will choose the best photo to upload in Social Media but for this restaurant everything looks beautiful that I decided to post all of it. Everything was good from the service to the foods. I loved it. Sure, drop by again whenever I feel wanted to have a good Japanese Meal. Thumb Up Guys!! I just loved your foods.

It was our first time to Jaya Shopping Centre and we were not aware of the Food & Beverages choices available in the Shopping Mall so after our Banjiro Mastani "Classic Love Story Movie" at TGV, Jaya shopping Centre we had our dinner at Chili's. Chili's is located next to Serai. We were welcomed by the staff at the entrance and he seated us in the nice cushion seating. After going through the menu, we ordered Mushroom Soup and Fajitas Wrap (Chicken, Beef and Prawn). It was crowded when we arrived at 9pm as the restaurant only close at 11pm. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely and it is similar to all the Chili’s Outlets.

Mushroom + Chicken Soup was my all-time favourite in Chili's and it is a must order item. The taste still remains the same even after few years. Good!! Mushroom + Chicken a weird combination but it was simply delicious.

Mushroom + Chicken Cup @ RM 5.95

Fajitas was yummy just the Grilled Beef was a little chewy. We requested it to be done medium rare.

Fajitas (Grilled Beef, Prawn and Chicken) @ RM 48.95

Pita was unlimited refills but 3 pieces for each of us is more than enough. Tasty!!

It was a good dinner for us. Nice service and delicious foods. We loved it. My sister loved their Mushroom + Chicken Soup and even visited the next day to just have their soup. Weird right but it was just too hard to resist for her.
