Komugi Cafe @ Paradigm Mall Smile Jan 30, 2016

Categories : Japanese | Stall / Warung | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

After our dinner at Fa-Ying, I take away breads from Komugi for next day breakfast as my boyfriend loved their breads and he used to take away breads from their Pavilion Outlets. Komugi bakery is located next to Elianto, Paradigm Mall. They have take away and dine-in options for the customers. The cashier counter is located at the centre and both sides are nicely arranged with cakes and breads while behind the cashier counter is the place to dine-in. It was a nicely set-up bakery shop. I take away Butter Cheese, Raisin Special and Krone. I loved their breads and I can have them for breakfast for 3 days with a cup of tea. So healthy right.

Krone must be stored in the fridge as it is best eaten cold for me. The custard is only filled in after you buy to avoid it from getting spoiled. It just melted in my mouth. Me and my sister really loved it.

Krone @ RM 4.80

Soft and fluffy bread with melted cheese and butter on top. Good option for breakfast.

Butter Cheese @ RM 3.20

Uncle Don's @ SS2 Smile Jan 18, 2016

We went SS2 to photostate our college notes on the way back home and we thought it will just take about 10 minutes and we can go back home for lunch but it turns out to be a disaster. Yeah!! It took 45 minutes to settle our stuff and by the time it’s done, we started to feel hungry. Since our car is parked nearby Uncle Don we decided to have lunch there. We were welcomed by the staff at the entrance before she seated on the table. They serve fusion foods. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived around 3pm. The ambiance of the restaurant was good and they have indoor and outdoor seating area (Smoking area) for the customer. We ordered Sizzling Sisig set and Homade Tortilla Wrap.

Homemade Ice Lemon Tea. Refreshing!!

Set inclusive of drink (Ice Lemon Tea) and Ice-Cream. They have 3 types of meat choices to choose from. Chicken, pork and chicken and my sister chose pork. Minced pork, diced onion, capsicum and egg served in a sizzling hot plate. Yummy!! It was very flavorful and both of us loved it.

Sizzling Sisig (Set) @ RM 12.80

Sizzling Sisig (Set) was served with rice and keropok.

They have 3 types of meat choices for the wrap (Beef, Pork and Chicken). Beef was not available on my visit so I choose pork for my wrap. The Wrap was served with vegetable and special homemade sauce. It was simply delicious. The sauce tasted like a mix of Bolognese and Satay Sauce to me but it was very flavorful and the sauce gives an additional kick to the wrap. The Fries were freshly prepared and served with a sprinkle of Chili powder. In my opinion, it would be great if they toasted it for a couple of more second to have a nice crunchy texture for the wrap.

Homemade Tortilla Wrap @ RM 12.80

Just a normal Vanilla ice- cream.

It was a perfect lunch for us. Good food but the only drawback is the staff cannot communicate good English and it was a bit difficult to make a conversation. But few can talk better English (Sign language always wins sometimes). Make sure to buy a coupon for your car parking as the saman rate is very high in SS2 especially during weekday lunch hours.

When I was invited to try Nadeje Mille Crepe, I recalled my visit to Melaka a year before and I would love to visit Melaka again. Nadeje has opened a new outlet at 1 Utama Shopping Centre and I guess it must be a good news for all Nadeje Mille Crepe lovers. Now you guys can enjoy them in Petaling Jaya instead of traveling all the way to Melaka. Nadeje Mille Crepe is located at ground Floor, 1 Utama Shopping Centre. They only serve cakes and beverages. A small bakery with some tables & chairs for the customers to dine-in.We were greeted upon entering . It’s either you choose the cake from the counter and ask them to serve it to the table or have a seat first and order from the menu in the table. I ordered Original and Banana Chocolate Mille Crepe. A couple of people occupied the bakery when we arrived around 8pm.

Banana Chocolate is a must order cake for me in Nadeje whenever I visit their outlet in Melaka. It was delicious and it is still my favorite crepe.

The Original was yummy. Normally I won't go for original but this round it was recommended by the staff so I gave it a try. My boyfriend and sister loved it and they even finished it off.

I called my friend whether she want anything for dinner on the way back home after my dinner at The Grumpy Cyclist as there is a Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurant located nearby and she said "She is fine with anything" .I was attracted by the beautiful aroma of this particular restaurant. Any guess? It is Namaste Indian Restaurant, located next to The Grumpy Cyclist. They serve both North Indian and South Indian foods. After going through the menu, I ordered Vegetable Briyani and the staff told me the waiting time will be 15-20 minutes. While we were waiting patiently, the aroma from the food was too hard to resist so we ordered 1 additional Thosai for us to take away. The foods are good therefore we drop by the next day for dinner. For dinner, we ordered Egg Briyani, White Rice, Chicken Varuval and Mum's Fish Curry (This Post is a combination of my dine-in and take away)

Complimentary Papadum was freshly prepared after they have taken your order. It was fresh and crunchy and it takes some time to be served.

Mint Chutney was watery and it does not have good minty taste.

Egg Briyani was delicious. It was served with 2 Hard boiled egg hidden underneath the rice. Yummy!!

A big portion of rice. It can be shared by 2 people.Mum's Fish curry was a delightful dish. The curry was slight spicy with the use of curry powder and spices. Fresh slice of Tenggiri Fish cooked with ladies finger and brinjal. My boyfriend loved it.

Chicken Varuval was okay. Sadly it was not up to my expectations as it does not have the best kick of black pepper and spice flavour. I guess its maybe because of the Bell pepper they use to prepare the dish instead of dried chilies.

Vegetable Briyani was so flavourful with spices. The portion was very big and it can be shared by 2 people. Vegetable Briyani @ RM 10.90

Thosai even tasted delicious. It was served with coconut and mint chutney. If I am not mistaken the coconut chutney was freshly prepared once we place the order.

Thosai @ RM 2.90

It was a good dinner with my sister and boyfriend. Nice foods except Chicken Varuval and Mint Chutney that need some improvements. The foods are reasonably priced but be ready to wait for 30 minutes to get your foods during non-peak times while peak time, 45 minutes – 1 hour. This is because the foods are freshly prepared once order is placed to ensure the foods are served piping hot and fresh.

A unique name for a cafe and I guess the name itself tells us that this cafe owner loves cycling. I heard a very good review about this cafe from my friends therefore me and my sister went there for dinner. The Grumpy Cyclist is located at TTDI, Petaling Jaya (Next to Namaste Indian Restaurant). The cafe serves Beverages, Cakes and a couple of main courses. We were welcomed by the staff at the entrance and he leads us to the cashier counter to order the foods. Yeah!! You have to order and pay at the counter. Once your order is done, they will serve the foods to your table. We ordered Gran Fondo, Pasta Di Bici and Mini Palkova. A couple of people occupied the cafe when we arrived at 7pm. The ambiance of the cafe was cool with bicycle hanging on the wall and tables with T-Shirts. They have indoor and outdoor (Smoking Area) seating area for the customer.

The Gran Fondo was gorgeous. A Plate of Toasted Bread, Bacon, Sausages, Baked Beans, Salad and beautiful Eggs creates the perfect choice for dinner. Baked bean was cooked with spices rather than served blend. The generous amount of vegetables was tossed with good Balsamic vinegar. I loved their dressings. Bacon was yummy and the sausages were boiled instead of fry. Healthy!! The guy who served the foods was so humble. He greeted us and explained to us about the food before serving it on the table.

The Gran Fondo @ RM 18.87

Pasta Di Bici was recommended by the staff. It looks small when it was served on our table, but I am full by the time I finished half of it. It was cooked perfectly with the spices. Best Aglio Olio I had recently. I liked it.

Pasta Di Bici @ RM 15.09

Since we were seated next to the dessert counter, I was really attracted to the Mini Palkova. Therefore, I add on that for our dessert after the dinner. Beautiful crust with cream, fresh fruit and cumin seeds. It is just to die for. Every mouthful was heaven and it always a perfect choice to end a meal with dessert.

It was a good dinner for us. Friendly & humble service, delicious foods and reasonable price. Sure, drop by again.
