Tony Roma's @ Mid Valley Megamall OK Sep 01, 2015

Me and my sister planned to go Midvalley
Mega Mall for shopping. The first question is where to eat whenever we go for
shopping. Since Tony Roma’s is having a Set lunch for weekdays we planned to
have lunch at Tony Roma’s that is located at Lower Ground, The Garden (Beside
KGB). The restaurant serves an extensive menu like Ribs, Steak, Seafood’s,
Pasta, Meats, and Beverages. The restaurant only occupied with couple of people
when we arrived around 12pm but it started filling up quickly for lunch hours. The ambiance is amazing and good lighting. I
ordered Mojo Chicken Set. Mojo Chicken set includes of Drink, Soup and Main
Course.

Ice Lemon Tea is bottomless.

Bread is on the house.

They have 2 types of soup, vegetable soup (Clear Soup) and potato soup (Creamy).I choose Potato soup and it was creamy and smooth.

Mojo Chicken served with grilled chicken, vegetable, yellow rice and sauce. The chicken was tender and juicy with pineapple sauce. Yellow Rice was aromatic and goes perfect with the sauce.

Mojo Chicken @ RM 16.90

It was good lunch for us. Food was good and wonderful hospitality but please double check the price of the food before ordering as not all the foods are RM 16.90, some are more expensive as I saw people are complaining when paying their bills so be alert.

My friend recommends The Porki Society for
their Boat Noodles therefore; we planned to go there for dinner. The Porki
Society is located at Seapark, Petaling Jaya. The restaurant serves their
signature Boat Noodles, Pork Balls, Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ), Moo Tod
Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet), Water Spinach, Fried Rice and Beverages. Couple of
people occupied the restaurant when we arrived as it was raining heavily. The
ambiance of the restaurant was okay, they use tables and chairs like in an
olden school days which is quite cool for me and you can also see the staff Barbecue
the pork satay if you manage to sit nearby the kitchen. We ordered Boat
Noodles, Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ), Moo Tod Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet),
Water Spinach (Pak Boong), Tom Yum Fried Rice and Tub Tim Krob.

Moo Tod Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet) was seasoned and cooked well. Roll them with a cabbage and enjoy it.

Moo Tod Porki (Fried Pork Cutlet) @ RM 11.90

Water Spinach (Pak Boong) was good with the sauce.

Water Spinach (Pak Boong) @ RM 1.90

Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ) was tender and barbecued perfectly.

Pork Satay (Moo Ping Porki BBQ) @ RM 5.90

Tom Yum Fried Rice was aromatic and yummy. It is much better than some other restaurants we tried. Tom Yum Fried Rice was served Tom Yum Fried Rice, Cucumber, Omelette, Pork Rinds and Fried Porki

Tom Yum Fried Rice @ RM 14.90

They have 2 types of Boat Noodles (Thin and thick noodles) and 2 types of choices for the noodles either dry or soup. We choose 1 of everything from the menu to try as the portion is small.Boat noodle tasted okay as they use the Pork Lard that is pre fried earlier and it has some kind of weird oil taste when you eat them together with the noodles but if it was served fresh then it would be heaven. Just the Pork Lard was their drawback.

Boat Noodles @ RM 1.90

You can compare the size of the noodles below. Right side was thin noodle while left side was thick noodle.

Tub Tim Krob dessert has a rich jackfruit flavour and they are generous with the Red Ruby.

Tub Tim Krob @ RM 6.90

It was a good dinner for all of us. The boat noodle needs some improvement but the portion was larger than Boat Noodle Empire Damansara so you just need to eat 3-4 bowls of noodles to make you full and good service.

KimchiHaru @ Jaya One OK Aug 12, 2015

Categories : Korean | Restaurant

As my boyfriend wanted to eat Korean Food
especially Bibimbap. I Google for a good restaurant that serves a delicious
Bibimbap and Mr.Google recommends KimchiHaru therefore I went to their official
website to have a glance at the menu and I was satisfied by the choices available
at KimchiHaru so we went there for dinner. KimchiHaru is located at Jaya One.
They have an extensive menu like noodles, bibimbap, Soups, beverages and set.
Couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived; as it is already 9pm
(Too late for dinner and it is almost their closing time). The ambiance of the
restaurant was okay as they have a very strong chlorine smell that makes us
uncomfortable to dine-in. I ordered Cheese Noodle Topokki, Pork Gochujang
Jigae, Bulgoki Bibimbap, Plum Cider and Korean Tea.

Plum Cider was delicious and I became an instant fan of it.

Plum Cider @ RM 5.40

Korean Tea was okay.

Korean Tea (ICE) @ RM 2

Kimchi is on the house (unlimited refills). Kimchi was fresh and good.

Banchan are okay and it is not unlimited refills. They have ala-carte and set option for the foods. Set includes of 3 types of Banchan at additional price.

It was the first time we are trying Cheese Noodle Topokki but it was super yummy. I loved it.

Cheese Noodle Topokki @ RM 15.90

Bulgoki Bibimbap is served with a bowl of white rice topped with fried egg, carrot, chicken and gochujang. It tasted delicious and served in a big portion but I like my Bibimbap served in a sizzling plate with poached eggs.

Bulgoki Bibimbap @ RM 15.20

Gochujang Jigae tasted good and spicy but I was surprised to see potatoes in my soup.

Pork Gochujiang Jiggae @ RM 13

It was good dinner for us. The foods are good, big portion, friendly service, and reasonable price.

I always see this restaurant crowded with
peoples therefore, we planned to try them again after our failure attempt to
get table on weekends. It will be always crowded on the weekends compare to the
weekdays. Therefore, this round we plan to go on weekdays and the place is not
crowded and we are free to choose our own table to eat (Happy). The restaurant
is located at Damansara Uptown. The restaurant serves a limited menu like Fried
Rice, Noodles, Lala, Vegetables, Soup, Beverages and their signature Hokkien
Mee. I ordered Fried Rice, Hokkien Mee,
Wan Tan Hor and Herbal Drink.

Herbal Tea

Hokkien Mee was delicious and you don’t need a seasoning to eat. In addition, the pork lard gives it amazing taste to the food. It was the star of the night.

Wan Tan Hoo tasted okay. It was a bit salty and very little noodles with plenty of soup. The noodles are clumped together which makes us difficult to eat.

Fried Rice was yummy. It has a very good wok fei flavour and add the sauce with green chillies to have kick to the food.

It was a perfect dinner for us. The foods are tasty expect Wan Tan Hor needed some improvements and avoid seating nearby the cooking area. The portions are big therefore buy different dishes and share among friends. The total bills was around RM 34 for 3 person including foods and drinks.

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | BBQ

Steamboat on this rainy weather is always a perfect idea, moreover on a Friday night. Cool right!! You can spend time with your friends & family until late night without worrying about waking up early for class/work. This round we went Xing Hotpot & BBQ, located at C180, Cheras. This Hotpot & BBQ restaurant offers unique dining experiences compared to some other steamboat restaurant. What is so unique about this steamboat & BBQ restaurant? You get a chance to catch your own Prawns, Escargort and Lala from the aquarium tank by yourself for the steamboat and BBQ. But be careful as the prawns will be flying all over the area while you are trying to catch it. Hahahaha!! We were greeted upon entering and the staff seated us in the table. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived at 6.30pm but it was filling up soon later on. It was an open-air concept restaurant and I guess this concept is perfect to have a BBQ and steamboat as it has good air ventilation and make the dining experience enjoyable.

We chose Tom Yum & Chicken Soup for the steamboat and both of it tasted equally good. Seafood's are good to have with Tom Yum while Chicken Soup is good to have with all the vegetables and tofu.

Beverage Choices (Herbal Tea, Orange Tea, Lemon Tea and Chinese Tea). I loved their Orange Tea and Herbal Tea. Good to have with Steamboat & BBQ.

Few dishes to have while waiting for the Steamboat and BBQ to be ready (Nuggets, Fries, Squid Rings, Salad, Chicken Wings, Prawns, Noodles and Fried Rice)

BBQ meats are good, it has it’s own flavour and doesn’t require any sauce to go with. All BBQ meats are marinated with the spices except Satay and Taufu.

Plenty of seafood choices (Prawn, Oyster, Lala, Crab, Shellfish, Squid, Snails, Fish and Scallops)

Grilled Prawns was meaty and juicy. We used fresh prawns to do BBQ so it was yum. Grilled Oyster is good to have too.

It was a good dinner for us. Friendly service and good hospitality which is very rare to expect in some Steamboat restaurant. Very frequent in refilling the ingredients except the live prawns. I think it is only refilled a couple of times during our entire stay and I manage to get some of it as I am one of the earliest customers of the day. My favorites are Prawn, Tom Yum & Chicken Soup, Crab, Mushroom and Cheese Taufu.

Thanks for the delicious food!!
