Rebranded interior, Taste reduced Cry Dec 16, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Seafood | Halal

Conveniently located at Ampark park, my old office. Where i used to hang out there for lunch or dinner. Store ambience overhere is quite poor, considering the old condition that the store had subject to. But overall, the store is very well maintained, with its cleanliness and seat arrangement being done without much hassle to the customer. Staff are friendly and quick to respond to our call to service, and it took them less than half and hour to serve the dish of the day for us, Garlic mussels.

One side note, the restaurant had recently undergo a rebranding. Where their menu and interior design had change to much modern rather than old day design style that we used to see in Manhattan fish market when they first started few years ago.
Garlic Mustard

Garlic Mustard

Used to be one of my favorite, the garlic mussel is serve together with a strong flavored garlic sauce plus together with some white bread. After their rebranding exercise, i will say not only prices increase but quality had decrease tremendously. Garlic sauce no longer as heavy flavored as before, the size of the mussels had reduce so small than you will be disappointed. I do feel like they want to improve profitability, but please do it while maintaing your quality and serving size please, now it is like we have to pay more but getting a lot less. sad

Failed Spaghetti Cry Dec 15, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Seafood | Halal

I remember that day where i am craving for Spaghetti, and as i come across the Fish & Co in paradigm mall, i decided to give this seafood shop a try on their Spaghetti. Located at Level C of the mall, it is quite easy to find this restaurant as it is conveniently located near escalator at the far end of this level.
Chicken & Mushroom Spaghetti

Chicken & Mushroom Spaghetti

The Chicken & mushroom spaghetti. Portion wise, too small compared to Ben's. Definitely not enough even for a girl like me, and it cost a whopping RM20 (excluding tax) for it. Taste wise, it lack the creamy and cheesy flavor that you will expect from a typical Cabonara sauce. Chicken and mushroom is also not generously given, the taste just failed us, in our opinion a "failed" dish.

Services is adequate and the store is kept clean as expected. But with similar problem with the outlet in One Utama, staff are generally unhappy from a point of view of a customer. And when you are served by unhappy staff, you cannot expect much from them. Though they don't shower their frustration on customer, but it is not a comfortable place i would like to stay for long.

Oily Dry Ramen  Cry Dec 15, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba

We come across this restaurant in paradigm mall, because there is a promotion that if you like their FB fan page you will be given a FREE drink. Since there is such promotion, so me and my boyfriend though of giving their Mee a try as well. And of course, we liked their fan page too to exploit the promotions. The restaurant is located at the far end of the mall, so if you don't see this restaurant on the other end of 2nd floor all you have to do is walk to another end. lol

The store interior is good, it is design to reflect the Japanese restaurant design. It offer a good and comfortable place to dine in, even after meal we can sit down there and have a few chat about work before we go on to shopping. Staff are friendly, and quick to lead you to your seat and take your order, within 20 minute the food is served.

I though of going a bit more adventurous this time on food, so i decided to go for something not my normal order dish. For the first time in this store, i decided to go for dry Ramen instead of Soup Ramen. When it is served, it did open my eye with the presentation of the food, shiny Ramen at the bottom couple with a soft boil egg. But when i tasted it, the feeling is on the other end, it let me hanging there. There isn't much taste of the Shoyu sauce, nor the soft boil egg played any part on the taste of the food. The Mee is too oily, and the Slice pork lacking in taste, the flavor is not strong enough compared with others. With Price about RM15 per bowl, i think it is not worth the money.

Chappati with Hot Dog Cry Dec 15, 2012

Store signboard

The first time i tried a dish like this can be trace back to few years ago in Genting, don't know what to call it but it is a Chappati make hot, and roll together with some onions and cheese. And few years later, it is almost everywhere in Malaysia now, and of them is Satay Chic'a Cheese. Not so prominent brand, but after all a brand awareness is not too important in food, but the taste does.

Located right in front of the MBO cinema, this kiosk sell what is mentioned above. Chappati roll with hot dog, and various other similar preparation dish. We catch up a bite just before the movie started to see if this kiosk has what it takes or otherwise. Services is adequately good, however seating is not being cleaned up where we see plate and cups are left at the counter even when the staff is doing nothing but standing there, and given the added factory that the seating area is small, it is not a pleasant spot to sit down.
Hot Dog Chappati

Hot Dog Chappati

After a minute or two, the Chappati hot dog roll is done which cost about RM6. It's size is smaller than what i had experience in other store, here i meant the Chappati that is used. They roll it with a hot dog, plus some onion and mayonnaise. Taste of it, is not that great to be honest, the mayonnaise is not very milky and the ingredient is not fresh, which result in the taste being neglected, and leave a "not so great" impression.

Bad taste Home Restaurant Cry Dec 13, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Café | Restaurant | Noodles | Dim sum | Nasi Lemak

Menu

Menu

Lately the concept of "Home made" dish is rising, due mainly because of the need of working people to dine at home. Thus lately, there are more restaurants coming out with this concept as part of their marketing plan, and In house cafe is one of such kind. Located just right next Shell station Genting Klang, this restaurant can be easily located as it is facing the main road leading to Wangsa Maju.

Since it is my first time in this restaurant, i decided to go for something more special in this restaurant. And in their menu, they have a Pork rice in Wooden container, looks a little bit special and unique for me. So i ordered this, and they took quite a while to serve the food to me. The whole restaurant staff look a bit messy and unorganized, it is like sitting in between of war zone. Where staff work in extreme stressful environment and services is bad. However, the restaurant are still properly clean up and at least it offer a comfortable seat.
Pork Rice in Wood container

Pork Rice in Wood container

The experience with this pork rice is bad, the whole food can be describe as such : A pork hard like a rock poured with tasteless condense liquid and placed on top of an egg which is cold and dry like a aged skin and the rice is not cooked properly that it is very hard to chew with. Though i ordered the sweet and sour sauce but it ended up tasteless, i had a bad dinner in this restaurant, but i guess i probably give this another try as they have a different variety of menu from dim sum to mee and rice.
