Mille Crepe Smile Dec 31, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Café | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Mille crepes are made popular by a cafe called Nadeje in Malacca. Since then, mille crepe places have sprouted here and there in and around KL; though they never really took off in popularity that much. The mille crepes here are fresh, creamy and come in various flavours. The vanilla is the best - sweet and simple.

Chatime in Selayang finally OK Dec 31, 2013

My girlfrield always complain there is no Chatime or Gong Cha nearby her. Finally, there is one in Selayang Mall, which is within 10km distance. The quality of Chatime here was pretty consistent as we ordered the same drink, i.e. Horlicks milk tea.

Samosa Smile Dec 31, 2013
Categories : Indian | Stall / Warung

This is my first time eating samosa this way - drenched with cholay - after being introduced to this way of eating by my Indian friend from India.

The samosa is hot and very fluffy inside (with potatoes) and moderately crunchy on the outside. The cholay gave it a much needed moistness and extra oomph.

Simply Malaysians Smile Dec 31, 2013
Categories : Malay | Stall / Warung | Nasi Lemak

Malaysians just love nasi lemak. At times, normal nasi lemak from a simple, rugged stall can be pretty good. The rice was very fluffy, the sambal was balanced with sweet and savory range. Despite the lack of chicken, it was very good comfort food on its own.

Cholay Bhatura Smile Dec 31, 2013

This is cholay bhatura, which is a dish of baked indian bread (something like puri), served with chickpeas cookedwith sauce. The chickpeas are soft and earthy - not spicy at all... maybe a bit peppery. The cholay is thin and flaky. A very nice Punjabi dish.
