Blown away by incredible cendol Smile Dec 27, 2013

So we decided to stop by Seremban on the way back up to KL from Malacca for cendol (among other things), and we were not disappointed at all. The cendol noodles were slightly salty, which I think is the defining characteristic. Ice was finely shaven (by machine), and the red beans were soft and mushy. Coconut milk was refreshing. Self-service, but quite fast. RM1.70 each. Really a steal!

Dolci is sweet Smile Nov 28, 2013

Cielo Dolci is my favourite gelato place in Malaysia by leaps and bounds. First of all, their gelato is super dense, with as little air trapped in between as possible. This is one of the reasons why it's so expensive, but so good. Still, only marginally more expensive than the competition. But the best part is all their crazy flavours that WORK (they even have/had nasi lemak flavour!).

However, this day, I was less adventurous. I had coconut with gula melaka, and salted caramel.

The gula melaka flavour is very muted, could hardly taste it. The coconut is fragrant and sweet, but not intensely so. The salted caramel is as it should be - creamy, richly sweet, and delicately salty. I like this combination. Very balanced.

Kambing overload! Smile Nov 28, 2013

I don't remember exactly what this was, but it's somewhere along the lines of goat's cheese or goat's milk pasta. The taste was very, very creamy and milky. Small portion, but really, really rich. The meat is shredded mutton, so it's basically goat and goat. Haha. The mutton was super soft, too.

Despite being so small, the flavours were so rich that I felt super full after eating this. This still stands as my favourite pasta that I've ever had, ever, so far.

Nasi campur Smile Nov 28, 2013

I think they call this nasi dulang or something, which is basically a platter of rice with various (pre-selected) dishes (like nasi campur but you don't pick the dishes, but it's already fixed).

The rice is not normal white rice - it's more aromatic, and served hot. The sambal is super thick and quite spicy. The chicken looks ordinary, but it's very tender and flaky - I think it's ayam kampung. Overall, this tastes like it is made of very high quality ingredients and not like your regular street food.

Moo Moo Magic Smile Nov 28, 2013

They say Paradigm Mall is magical, but you know what's really magical? This frozen yoghurt. The hype over froyo may have come and gone, but Moo Cow lives on strong. Why? Great product.

My favourite - original flavour with Hershey's chocolate sauce. The froyo is smooth and milky, unlike most places which has more icy texture. In fact it's smoother than many ice creams I've tried!

The deep rich chocolate sauce balances out the sourness of the froyo.
