Yum-(not!)-agoya  Cry Nov 28, 2013

Being one of the "Big 4" of ramen in KL, it didn't live up to the standard at all. Soup had a funky smell (must be from the bamboo shoots), and very salty. While excessive saltiness isn't a crime on its own, its bad when the whole balance is weird and has that odd smell.

Noodles were unremarkable in texture and taste, and there was very little pork (although they were quite tender, but way too fatty).

Diversifying your portfolio reduces your risk, right? On paper, that's correct, but in the case of Neroteca's meat platter, it's just 3 times the disappointment.

Beef and lamb were both tough and dry. I didn't appreciate the fact that the meat was both tough and fatty - it's usually one or the other, as trade-offs to each other. These were the worst of both worlds.

Pork was bland, dry, and unexciting.

The sauces were decent, but really this isn't a dish that's worth spending money or calories on.

Stained Experience Cry Nov 26, 2013

Coffee: Pretty decent, has a kick, tastes full and rich without giving me that unpleasant "caffeine" aftermath that caffeine-sensitive people like me usually get.

Cheesecake: So boring, unexciting, and not particularly good. Not dense enough, and not rich enough. Yet, SO EXPENSIVE (RM14!!!) for this tiny slice.

Not even a good place to work. Plug points at selected areas only, and quite warm (open area within the mall, where it's not so cold upstairs).

Also, barrista was totally and utterly blur when asked some questions about the food.

This meal really "Burn" Cry Nov 26, 2013

Despite being an advocate against chicken burgers, I went against my better judgement and tried the chicken burger (in this case, actually a sandwich) at the famously overhyped Burger Bakar Abang Burn. It was big, granted, but that huge piece of chicken is actually 80% flour. I'm not exaggerating. It was tough, hardened flour, and 20% meat (which was tender, but too little to salvage the meal).

I'm not singing praises about the beef either, but at least that's passable as a quick cravings-buster.

Terlalu berazam Cry Nov 22, 2013

Saturday morning, car blocked in, bad start to the day. Forced to walk to a nearby cafe to have breakfast. Zam Zam was the nearest. Cafe is HUGE. Two tables seated - me, and another. Nothing served except nasi lemak and roti canai for breakfast... WHAT?!

Outraged, but still hungry. Ordered nasi lemak ayam. How bad could it be? Bad. Very bad.

Chicken was cold, tough, flavourless, and in tiny portion. Rice was hard. Sambal tasted of salt and nothingness. Horrible. No substance, small portion, bad price. Very displeased. Didn't finish my food. Angry.

Will never eat nasi lemak here again, and if given a choice, would not eat anything here at all. Ever.

No wonder there's hardly anyone there except first-time chumps like me.
