Ginger Fish Slices Smile Dec 08, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

Another must try dish is Ginger Fish Slices (姜葱鱼片). This dish cooked with plenty of ginger slices and spring onions. Stir fried with fish slices and the gravy taste delicious. The fish slices were fresh enough presented a sweet taste. Quite a big portion for just RM 15 (S). For those who love to eat egg,

you can try this fried egg with long bean , a very homey taste with plenty of diced long bean selling a plate at RM6 (s) only. Extremely cheap!

As you know Malacca is a place famous of Baba Nyonya Food, you can see many of these Restaurant at every corner. Restaurant Ole is call 親切餐馆 in Chinese . This Restaurant is not far from the Hotel I stayed during my visit to Malacca. So i decided to try out the dishes here. The environment here is very comfortable with simple baba nyonya style decoration. I ordered some of their signature

dishes like Ayam Pongteh ( 豆酱鸡)Itik Tim ( 娘惹咸菜鸭汤), Telor Dadar Cincaluk and Nyonya Chap Chai . Ayam Pongteh cooked with fermented soy bean , potatoes , mushrooms and secret ingredients. This dish more to sweetness and the chicken soft and tender. The gravy is nice to eat with white rice. Here they served white rice with banana leaf in a big basket , quite a unique way. Price RM13 for small portion.

Itik Tim (娘惹 咸菜鸭汤) OK Dec 08, 2013

Itik Tim is salted vegetable soup with some duck meat. Normally you can find this menu in Baba Nyonya Restaurant . I have not try this before , to me is similarly to Hakka Pork Salted Vegetable Soup. I find it a bit salty to my taste. Price per serving RM17 (s), another signature dish Telor Dadar Cincaluk is unique and different from the normal Telor Dadar , you can get strong taste of Cincaluk. For those who never try but have heard about Cincaluk this is good to try. Last, we had the Nyonya Chap Chai . This dish combine cabbage , black fungus , Fu chuk , mushrooms and some glass noodles. By looking at the appearance not so inviting , taste acceptable. I prefer more to Cantonese style chap chai with some green. Price Rm11 (s)

Clay Pot Salted Fish Chicken Smile Dec 07, 2013

tongue I love food cooked in the clay pot as the taste very much difference compared wok stir fried. The smell just 'Boom' up when food serve right in front of you. It remains dish hot in temperature till the end. The Clay Pot Salted Fish Chicken full of flavor as the dark sauce mixture of hoi sin sauce , oyster sauce and a few drops of Chinese rice wine or Hua Tiau I guessed. Some crispy salted fish which cut into stripes for topping, chicken meat was smooth and tender .........very appetizing , definitely you need more rice for this awesome dish. Another dish was Homemade Soy Tofu, this soy tofu deep fried until golden brown and it had nice smell of soy, smooth and light in texture. It stir fried with Seng Gua (Petola) some prawns and mushroom slices too. Overall for this dish was delicious.

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

smile This Fish n Chips served in very big portion , it comes with some fries and spaghetti. The fish coated with bread crumb that fried until golden in colour super crispy , not oily and it's nice to eat with tatar sauce . The fries also not bad crispy outer and soft inside. For the spaghetti noodles was nicely done with the right texture and it tossed with some garlic herbs created a nice aroma, very inviting. The price is reasonable and yet you can get big serving

, good for value.
