As you know Malacca is a place famous of Baba Nyonya Food, you can see many of these Restaurant at every corner. Restaurant Ole is call 親切餐馆 in Chinese . This Restaurant is not far from the Hotel I stayed during my visit to Malacca. So i decided to try out the dishes here. The environment here is very comfortable with simple baba nyonya style decoration. I ordered some of their signature dishes like Ayam Pongteh ( 豆酱鸡）Itik Tim ( 娘惹咸菜鸭汤), Telor Dadar Cincaluk and Nyonya Chap Chai . Ayam Pongteh cooked with fermented soy bean , potatoes , mushrooms and secret ingredients. This dish more to sweetness and the chicken soft and tender. The gravy is nice to eat with white rice. Here they served white rice with banana leaf in a big basket , quite a unique way. Price RM13 for small portion.

Itik Tim is salted vegetable soup with some duck meat. Normally you can find this menu in Baba Nyonya Restaurant . I have not try this before , to me is similarly to Hakka Pork Salted Vegetable Soup. I find it a bit salty to my taste. Price per serving RM17 (s), another signature dish Telor Dadar Cincaluk is unique and different from the normal Telor Dadar , you can get strong taste of Cincaluk. For those who never try but have heard about Cincaluk this is good to try. Last, we had the Nyonya Chap Chai . This dish combine cabbage , black fungus , Fu chuk , mushrooms and some glass noodles. By looking at the appearance not so inviting , taste acceptable. I prefer more to Cantonese style chap chai with some green. Price Rm11 (s)

During my trip to Malacca , I visited to this Asam Pedas Selera Kampung which is located at Bandar Hilir not far from Mahkota Square Shopping Mall. The shop serving authentic Malay cuisine , signature dish like Ketam Masak Lemak really huge in size. We had lunch here , I ordered one of their signature dish call Asam Pedas Fish , the gravy taste sourness , the fish fresh and soft in texture , it just nicely cooked ,very appetizing . Apart from this ,the Rendang Ayam cooked with tick coconut milk gave strong aromatic , the chicken meat was tender and taste great. I just can stop myself to top up rice. They served all kind of ulam which goes well with the belacan chili tumbuk. It really hot buy I just love it.
Another dish was Pucuk Daun Masak lemak which cooked in coconut milk also add on tumeric that gave yellow in colour, the pucuk leaf was soft and nice to eat. Overall plenty of choices , delicious taste and price reasonable. Do try it out for your Malacca trip.
