One of the few things which I love about the Leng Chee Kang in Penang is that it is cheap, delicious and full of ingredients! The leng chee kang at Chai Leng Park is no exception as well!

I randomly picked this stall, as there were many leng chee kang stalls along this row of food court stalls. The bowl of leng chee kang arrived not too long later, and it did not disappoint one bit.

It was filled to the brim, ranging from longan to white fungus, sweet potato, agar agar and a whole other ingredients which I do not even know its name!

For RM3, this is very worth the money! Surely something I cannot get from KL with these kind of prices. The ingredients are so much, I actually felt that there was not enough liquid to go around with.

Came by Penang once again for work purpose, and as always Chai Leng park's foodcourt is the way to go for me. After dinner, I was walking back to the car when I saw this fried chicken stall and I could not resist myself.

As I have beer in the hotel, I decided to get something sinful from this stall which will go well with my beer. I ordered the fried chicken skin, which was not common in KL until recently. It was freshly fried, and 5 pieces for RM1 it was super worth it.

In my opinion, the best part of a fried chicken is always the skin. This stall fries the skin into pure crispy joy. Of course it is full of oil, but it goes so well with beer, I actually felt bad after finishing it.

Quality tau sar pheah

Quality tau sar pheah

I like tau sar pheah alot and always seek to find some quality tau sar pheah. It's also known as Tambun biscuit. So my colleagues went to Penang for training and I asked for their help to get a box back(RM8.50), from any shop. They brought back a box from Hock Lok Siew. I've never heard of them. Each one of them are bigger than regular size. At first bite, the crust was thin and soft. I can almost smell the freshness of it. The green bean filling was compact and sweet. It's sweeter than normal. It taste salty at first and gradually become sweeter and sweeter. Overall, it's a fantastic experience and it's comparable if not better than Ghee Hiang.

Awesome tau sar pheah

Awesome tau sar pheah

I'm a fan of tau sar pheah. And when my friend went to Penang, I told him I ABSOLUTELY must have a box if this delicious delicacy, no matter what. In the end he got 1 box for me after a looooonnnnnggg waiting line. Very grateful fpr that. What makes this so good is basically everything. It's fresh and packed in 4pcs a roll. Once open, the smell of the processed green bean will envelope your senses. It has a good yellowish/brownish freshly baked color. I can finish 1 pc in one mouthful. and I just love that the biscuit will somehow melt in your mouth. The texture is soft and smooth and sweet too. And it's at an affordable price of RM5.50! Wish they could open a branch in KL so that I can savour this delicacy more often.

Fried oyster @ George Town Smile Sep 06, 2012

Recently went to Penang for food hunting with my friends and we found this coffeeshop which has many Penang's famous food.

We ordered the Fried Oyster (Oh Chien) as it is a must to eat in Penang!

The fried oyster took some time to arrive, as we were among the first customers and the cook was still preparing the ingredients and heating up the pan.

But once it arrived, we awed at the size of the oyster, as we would rarely find such big oysters in KL. The taste is quite good, as expected from a famous coffeeshop in George Town. The mixture of starch and egg was well done too. In fact, I feel that they actually added more eggs than starch, making the dish full of eggy goodness!

This dish is worth recommending, and I wouldn't mind coming for this fried oyster the next time I come to George Town.
