Came across this restaurant in the shopping mall and saw many people taking numbers for seats. Since we weren't too hungry, we don't mind to wait. So, we took the number and patiently waited. We were finally seated after 20 minutes. During the wait, we enjoyed watching the chefs performing their Ramen skills at their see through kitchen.

The restaurant was decorated tastefully with oriental influence. As you can see, there is a Buddha statue in the middle of the restaurant.
Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Ramen

Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Ramen

Mom ordered double boiled chicken soup with ramen. This dish is excellent. The chicken soup is so flavourful. The soup is non oily and the chicken essence is boiled into the soup, making the soup absolutely sweet and refreshing. The ramen itself was very good too. The ramen was springy and cooked nicely. The soup in the ramen is also slightly flavored.
Signature Pork Ramen

Signature pork ramen was also very good. The pork slices were soft and succulent, with tiny layer of fats. Once you put the pork into your mouth, it will starts to melt. The soup was also very flavourful, and i finished the whole bowl of soup. That's how good it is. Other condiments in the ramen are siew bak choy, seaweeds, egg and scallions. I feel that the chefs did a good job in making the ramen. The noodle is not too thick and cooked perfectly, you won't feel the noodle being too soft for overcooking or too hard for undercooking.
Original Xiao Long Bao

Original Xiao Long Bao

Lastly, is the famous xiao long bao. They serve many types of xiao long bao, but we like to taste the original one before trying other new xiao long bao. It came in steamy hot bamboo container. There are 6 bite size xiao long bao. The skin of the xiao long bao is just nice in thickness. The way to eat it is to make a hole and let the juices of the meat flow out into the spoon. Next, you drink the juices and eat the remaining xiao long bao. The juices were indeed flavourful, full of sweetness from the meat. However, i would prefer more juices from the xiao long bao. Perhaps it was just too good and i wanted more. The minced pork meats were well marinated and when bitten, you can still taste the juice splashing out from the minced meats. I would definitely order this dish again.

Overall, I don't mind the waiting time for a good meal in this restaurant.

La Kaffa Smile Sep 27, 2012

La Kaffa is a newly open outlet selling primarily coffee and tea.

Sea Salt Rose Tea. The name and the picture of this drink was very appealing. Without hesitation, i placed my order on this. The drink was prepared quickly and I collected the drink from their counter. The drink has this lovely rose pink color, i think this will sell well to the ladies. On top is a thick layer of creamy foam with sea salt added. The sea salt will start to melt into the foam in less than a minute, so, catch your glimpse of the sea salt before disappearing. I was recommended to drink from the cup, not from the straw. First taste was the salty cream foam, then the rose tea. The cream foam was indeed salty but i can tell for sure it is sea salt, not normal table salt. The rose tea was also very fragrant but too sweet for me. If the rose tea was less sweet, then it would be perfect. I'm very impressed with this drink. It brings my taste bud to another level. You just need to slowly sip the drink, and let all the taste and flavour immersed into your mouth.

Kuey Teow Teng @ O&S Smile Sep 04, 2012   (Related Review)

Kuey Teow Teng is another famous stall in this coffee shop. This stall is just right in front of the Prawn Mee/Lor Mee stall. This stall sells Penang fish ball noodle soup. This is the only fish ball noodle soup that I will eat in Klang Valley, because all other fish ball noodle soup just can't compete with this one.

You can choose to have other types of noodles like mee hon or mee, but for me, I stick to the original and most famous, Kuey Teow. Original Penang Kuey Teow Teng is made with duck meat soup, however, I'm not sure if this stall is using duck meat. I suspect it is using only chicken meat and bones for the broth. But what makes this Kuey Teow Teng special is, the broth itself is the winning recipe even if it wasn't made of duck meat. The broth is so delicious, so flavorful, so clear, and so addictive. I see lots of people including myself finishing the soup till the last drop.

The fish balls were fresh and sweet, the fish cakes were nice, and some chicken strips and beansprouts were the main ingredients. Not to leave out the fried pork lards that give the additional flavours to the dish. Their kuey teow was also nicely blanch. Kuey teow was smooth like silk, and the flavours were all absorbed into the kuey teow.

This guy that sells the Kuey Teow Teng still calls out my name when he sees me. Imagine how long I have known this stall and still serving good food. Again, I wish he sells Kuey Teow Teng until the age of 80.

RM5.00 a bowl.

Lor Mee Cham @ O&S Restaurant Smile Sep 04, 2012

O&S has been around for so many years, that as far as i could remember, I have been patronizing this coffee shop for more than 20 plus years. Most of the food stalls here serve some of the best Penang and local dishes in Klang Valley. Every weekend and lunch time, the place will be pack of people. Expect to share tables, because so many people came for their good food.
Lor Mee Cham

Lor Mee Cham

One of the stalls that you shouldn't miss out is the Penang Prawn Mee and Lor Mee stall. This stall has been around for so long, the man selling it has turned from a young man to a middle aged man. I ordered a bowl of Lor Mee Cham. Basically, Lor Mee Cham is half Lor Mee mix with half Prawn Mee broth. I like the thick and starchy broth of Lor Mee, and flavorful broth from the Prawn Mee. Be assured that even if you ordered just either one, they will definitely satisfy your craving for a good bowl of Lor Mee or Prawn Mee.

The Lor Mee Cham is serve with half an egg, mee hoon and mee, beansprouts, three medium size prawns, and blended garlic sambal. All ingredients are fresh, especially the medium size prawns. The prawns were so sweet!!!! And prawn meats were firm and bouncy. Since the prawns were so fresh, it is no doubt the broth was so nice and sweet. They say prawn mee broth is made of simmered pork bones and shells of the prawns.

The booster for this dish is the blended garlic sambal. This really add in so much Oomph to the dish. The combination of sweet prawn mee broth with thick and starch Lor Mee broth, plus the garlic sambal, is an ultimate winning dish. I can have a second bowl if i want to.

RM5.00 a bowl. Options to add more ingredients.

I hope this guy will keep selling Prawn Mee and Lor Mee until the age of 80. tonguelol

I always like to eat Japanese snail, they tasted like clams, juicy and sweet. The Japanese Snail we ordered this time is prepared in the Thai special sauce. I love this sauce very much. It was slightly creamy, full of spices, and slightly spicy. The creaminess of the sauce was very addictive and made me keep scooping out more sauces. The japanese snail was also stir fried with some vegetables.
