WATAMI... sounds like "wan tan mee"... tongue
ha! their 1st outlet is in Pavillion~ and that's where i had my 1st meal with WATAMI...
1 Utama outlet is not new anymore now...
had many meals there before this~
just that was too rush to take picture for blog...
let's not waste our time on my grandmother story...
the menu and the complimentary wet tissue

the menu and the complimentary wet tissue

WATAMI is not a sushi house...
but they do serve sushi... just more expensive than those sushi houses~
as we can see they called themselves as Japanese Casual Restaurant...
they served more hot cooked food...
and their hot cooked food mostly are good food...
at least all i had before are~ smile
Ika Maruyaki RM 19.90

Ika Maruyaki RM 19.90

grilled squid with teriyaki sauce...
grilled to perfection, chewy and juicy... yum! lol
Yaki Udon RM 18.90

Yaki Udon RM 18.90

this is superb! fried udon topped with dried fish...
i always worry that it will be very salty...
but it was not! it was so nice!
Beef Pepper Rice RM 19.90

Beef Pepper Rice RM 19.90

the first time i had pepper rice was in Food Republic...
an express pepper rice stall...
i like the strong pepper fragrance and the mixture of corn, beef and rice~
of course this is so much better if compare with the Food Republic one...
more proper and well presented...
Ishiyaki Omuraisu RM 21.90

Ishiyaki Omuraisu RM 21.90

i can't remember what it is in english...
it tasted like fried rice with their special sauce...
with scallop and some other seafood in it...
topped with egg and Japanese bean paste...
Sumiyaki Jelly RM 6.90

Sumiyaki Jelly RM 6.90

so happened i wanted a dessert...
and i was worrying after i placed the order...
worried that the dessert will be too sweet...
the coffee jelly topped with milk and whipped cream...
it was just nice which i can taste the coffee and a little sweet of the milk...
and it's not so filling... just nice for dessert... =)
whenever we feel like having Japanese food but not sushi...
WATAMI is always our choice...
they have outlets in Pavillion and Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya...
is very convenient for those who stay or work in KL and PJ... lol

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant

it was last month buddies gathering~
we fixed it once a month on this year CNY...
and i'm glad that we are keeping the promise...
actually it's not difficult at all...
almost every month we will have someone's birthday to celebrate...
on the months that no celebration, that's where we plan for gathering~
this time was at Ben's General Food Store, Bangsar Village I...
Bangsar has became a common location for our gatherings or celebrations...
just because it's in the middle of everyone's staying place...
hmm... seem like i've gone too far~ tongue
let's back to the topic...
Fried Eggplant & Sliced Chicken

Fried Eggplant & Sliced Chicken

this fried eggplant with sliced chicken tasted just like our Chinese style fried eggplant...
only difference is it was a cold dish...
served with french beans, kicap manis and garlic dressing...
it was really good that i finished all 2 portions...
why 2 portions?
because they served me the wrong one which supposedly the Roasted Cod Fish...
Half Spit-Roasted Chicken with 2 sides RM 29.90

Half Spit-Roasted Chicken with 2 sides RM 29.90

i remember seeing a photo of the roasted chicken in their oven from a blog...
that's the main reason why i wanted to try...
this half roasted chicken served with their special brown sauce and 2 salads...
salads choose from the salad bar~
and yes! it was tasty...
roasted to perfection, chicken remains juicy and tender... lol
Marinated Button Mushrooms & Barley

Marinated Button Mushrooms & Barley

button mushrooms & barley salad is the most popular salad in Ben's...
very good reviews from bloggers...
served with spring onions, soy and lemon~
hmm... i won't say it was not good, just that not what i like...
too sour to my liking... still prefer the eggplant~ shocked
Roasted Cod Fish & Pineapple

Roasted Cod Fish & Pineapple

another salad with high ranking among the bloggers...
served with green chili, cucumber, tomatoes, coriander, and coconut milk dressing...
overall was quite okay, only the cod fish was too fishy...
kinda disappointed... mad
Mushroom Lasagna RM 23.90

Mushroom Lasagna RM 23.90

Ben's has very famous lasagna...
especially the B.I.G Lasagna with minced beef filling...
i wasn't on the mood of having beef that day~
so, i had the mushroom one...
it was really delicious with generous minced mushrooms and cheese...
will definitely go back again just for the lasagna... yum yum! smile
Ben's General Food Store in BVI

Ben's General Food Store in BVI

while waiting for my girls to be ready to go home...
i walked around and took a few shot...
with the big signboard hanging on the fences, hardly to be missed...
salad bar

salad bar

the salad bar offers variety of salads...
pick your salad after the orders placed...
all the salads seem really delicious and attractive~
another entrance

another entrance

i was wondering are they doing another kind of business besides...
but it was the same outlet with another entrance~
Ben's has a few outlets located at different locations...
very convenient and easy to be found...
will definitely go back for the lasagna and of course all the others menu... ^^

ever since 1 Utama Shopping Center done with it's old wing renovation~
there are lots of new restaurant setting up for their patrons...
Petite Millie is one of the restaurants that attracted my attention...
there was a day almost all the bloggers' link showed the title "Petite Millie"...
so, we went on a Saturday date~ smile
Petite Millie = Little Millesime

Petite Millie = Little Millesime

an extension of restaurant Millesime located in Menara Kencana Petroleum in Solaris Dutamas area...
setting based on the modern European casual dining...
cuisine served is French influenced~
(information from their Facebook page)
Darjeeling Tea & Peppermint Tea RM 7.00 each

Darjeeling Tea & Peppermint Tea RM 7.00 each

served with piece of nice cookie...
the cookie was really good~
Poutine Cheek... and it's deadly RM 26.00

Poutine Cheek... and it's deadly RM 26.00

the 6 hours braised beef cheek served on bed of fries and topped with sliced cheese...
mixed everything and enjoy the tender juicy beef cheek~
the fries were so great after soaked in the gravy...
it was really filling as there were lot of fries...
Poutine is one of their signature dishes... MUST TRY item! lol
Manilla Clams Linguine RM 26.00

Manilla Clams Linguine RM 26.00

served a la minute braised clams with garlic and chili flakes...
topped with saffron aioli~
it was good but the portion was slightly small...
bf said he didn't feel anything in his stomach when he finished the linguine... mad
Luv a Duck RM 23.50

Luv a Duck RM 23.50

had another of their signature dish - Tartine, the 'tarting' sandwich...
i wanted the tartine introduced by the bloggers but i couldn't find it in the menu~
then i saw the lady sitting next to us was having the tartine...
then, i told the waiter i wanted the same...
peppered duck breast and fresh rocket leaves bedded on country bread...
so yummy! oh ya~
it served alongside with the "fries" which made from the crispy edge of Tarte Flambee...
healthier and it was really good... but, i missed out a shot of the "fries"... sad
never mind~ i will definitely go back for things that i've yet to try...
like Leprechaun's Brew, The One Tartine and Millie Mascarpone... tongue

Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe is famous with their interior arrangement...
my first visit was their first outlet in NZX...
then the Sunway Giza outlet~
this time, our birthday girl wanted to visit the Jalan Yap Kwan Seng outlet...
driving to KL after office hour was crazy...
stuck in the jam for almost 2 hours to reach the cafe...
walked into the cafe, was really disappointed on their service and the environment...
the sofa was in bad condition...
the pieces of leather came out from the sofa everytime we moved... mad
hardly get a waiter to approach us even we've put our hands up high...
the whole cafe was not maintain in good condition... sad
thank God~ their food was still okay...
Mushroom Soup RM 8.90

Mushroom Soup RM 8.90

tasted like normal canned soup...sad
Alfredo Spaghetti RM 17.90

Alfredo Spaghetti RM 17.90

like the milky creamy base...
generous on the ingredients too...
Al Funghi Spaghetti RM 14.90

Al Funghi Spaghetti RM 14.90

very good vegetarian pasta...
Soft Shell Crab RM 10.90

wasn't crispy enough...
but my friend said couldn't expect much on the amount they charged...
Pan Sear Dory Fish RM 16.90

Pan Sear Dory Fish RM 16.90

this was the best dish of the night...
i love the sautéed sugar pea shoots and mushrooms on top very much...
bedded on siew pak choy with lemon grass cream...
Braised Lamb Shank RM 28.90

Braised Lamb Shank RM 28.90

their braised lamb shank was not bad...
the lamb was juicy and tender...
served with ratatouille...
Seared Atlantic Salmon RM 26.90

Seared Atlantic Salmon RM 26.90

the salmon was slightly overcooked, but still okay...
only the teriyaki sauce made the salmon was a bit too salty to my liking...
served with mashed potatoes, greens and deep fried lotus root...
Profiterole RM 9.90

Profiterole RM 9.90

this was the worst dessert i've ever had...
it tasted really weird and with too much of cream in it~

i think Fullhouse should look into the maintenance of the Jalan Yap Kwan Seng outlet...
the condition was so poor that we can't really enjoy ourselves there~
of all, i would say Sunway Giza and Sunway Pyramid have the best outlets...
if you wanted to visit Fullhouse, pick these two... ^^

went to Poco Homemade again with mom, sis and baby niece...
after so long, finally i get to bring mom there~ smile
it was a wonderful Sunday~
with my beloved family and the yummy-licious homemade dessert~
Irish Cream Pecan Cheesecake RM 13.00

Irish Cream Pecan Cheesecake RM 13.00

baby niece's favourite cake...
she finished half of it...
it was really nice as it was not too sweet...
and the fragrance of pistachio made it perfect~
Pistachio Cake RM 12

Pistachio Cake RM 12

Irish Cream Pecan Cheesecake made with coffee liquor~
mom loves it but i think the coffee liquor was a little too much...
the taste of liquor was too strong and has covered the fragrance of cheese...
if you love coffee like my mom does, this would be a great choice...
