CHAWANMUSHI.  OK Aug 03, 2012   (Related Review)

I am a steam egg fan, and whenever I dine in a Japanese restaurant, I'll never fail to order myself a cup of Chawanmushi. As daiki cafe is a japanese cafe, I wanted to give a try on their Chawanmushi. I was quite disappointed with the quantity of the Chawanmushi because they gave lesser than half the cup and when I opened it the top of the egg seems overcooked a little. But they gave quite a generous amount of different ingredients in the Chawamushi. The price of one cup of chawanmushi is RM3.

WHEATGRASSSHOTATJUICEWORKS. OK Jul 31, 2012

Don't like vegetables and fruits? But still want to stay healthy and prevent constipation and all sort of diseases? Try to wheat grass shot by Juice Works. Juice works is a juice bar, where you can practically find in most of the shopping malls in the Klang Valley. The one I visited to have my wheat grass shot was the branch in One Utama. When I was a working as a part timer, I was really crazy over juice works. Because their juice is packed with health benefits and vitamins and also they taste really yummy smile

I always come across their banner/poster of their wheat grass shot and also have been wanting to try it out. I like the wheat grass juice they sell in bottles that is green in colour in most chinese restaurants and convenient shops. But that drink is really unhealthy because it contains alot of sugar and such.

Juice works sells 1 wheatgrass shot (20ml) for RM6 something and it comes with a slice of orange. According to juice works, 1 wheatgrass shot is equivalent to 1 kg of fruits and vegetables. I mean 1 kg of fruits and vegetables is a lot. And if i would have to pick to consumer which, I rather drink the wheat grass shot.

CHICKENA'LAKING. Smile Aug 03, 2012

This is called, Chicken A'La King [RM22.90]. It's supposed to be slices of chicken topped with mushroom sauce along with butter rice and steam vegetables. The chicken is oh so yummy smile The sauce is sooo goood! The sauce was creamy with a little sourish because of the tomatoes. BUT, what they served was not butter rice, we think. It tasted more like plain steam white rice, disappointing. Other than that, this dish is really good smile

WAFFLEWORLD. Smile Jul 31, 2012

Being a waffle lover, Waffle World has been one of the restaurant that I have been meaning to try. OU has always been the 'it' place where I always hang out with my high school friends and I pass Waffle World all the time, but I have never try it before. They use to have a branch in Sunway, which I almost tried, but the service there was really bad. My friends and I waited for a table for so long, and no one bother to clean up a table for us. So we walked away. But there's no longer a Waffle World in Sunway anymore.

Banana Walnut. It was a plain flavored waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, chopped bananas, walnuts and some chocolate sauce. It costed RM8.90 which to me is quite affordable for such a big plate of waffle. But I am not a walnut fan, so I didn't quite like that. But overall, the ice-cream and banana is nice, but the waffle, I have tasted better ones.

Besides selling waffles and pancakes, they also serve savory main dishes like pastas, burgers and sandwiches. So, we decided to try one burger. I have forgotten the name of this dish. Inside the burger is a chicken patty topped with mushroom and brown gravy with some crunchy french fries and simple salad as the side dishes. To me, the patty of the burger tasted like kebab meat and quite nice. It has the right amount of seasoning and grilled to perfection. And the mushroom and brown sauce just makes it all better. This costed about RM15+.

Overall, the bill came up to about RM20+ for 2 person. We had no regret trying it. Dropping by One Utama? Why not give them a try? (;

AUSTINCHASE. OK Jul 31, 2012

Austin Chase just recently started their retail store brand not too long ago, starting here in Malaysia and our neighboring country, Singapore. Their menu offers a wide variety of beverages, ranging from espresso, cappuccino, frappuchinos, teas and blended drinks. For their food, they serve cakes, pies, sandwiches, pastas and others. Besides their food and beverages, their store provides comfortable and cozy environment, complimentary Wifi, magazines, storybooks and board games for their customers. So their customers are able to entertain and enjoy themselves while dining in.

So, this was what I ordered, a Turkey Ham Sandwich with white bread. This costed us about RM15+ (including tax). Inside the sandwich contained some lettuces, a pieces of melted cheese, and turkey ham. The sandwich comes with some french fries at the side. The sandwich tasted like other normal sandwiches. Nothing special. But the melted cheese that was used was a little too salty. Their french fries in the other hand was crispy and good.

I had only tried their sandwich, so I can't comment much about their food quality. But the sandwich overall, was just average. But the environment and other service provided like the free books and magazines was something really special. They also have a breakfast menu that looks nice. Their prices are on the high side. That's about it.
