DELECTABLEBYSU. OK Jul 31, 2012

Delectable's shop was located right next to the ATM machines and their desserts, biscuits and cakes are just too difficult not too look at, because of their colour and how yummy they look.

These were just some of their desserts that were displayed. They have other things like cupcakes and biscuits that were displayed in the shop. All their cakes and Macaroons come in such a large size selling at a really reasonable price! I really want to try their cake one day!

But for that day, I only settled on a piece of Raspberry Lime flavored Macaroon [RM10]. I am sure you know what a Macaroon is and even more have even tried one at least once in your life. It's really popular among the youngsters these days. A macaroon is actually a sweet meringue based confectionary mainly made from egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder/ground almond and food colouring.

Delectable has many flavors for their macaroon. Some are like the salted chocolate and caramel. Our Raspberry Lime flavored macaroon to us, was a bit disappointing. The outer layer of the macaroon was the only thing we found good. It was crispy and crunchy. But the filling inside of the macaroon was really not good at all. We didn't like how it tasted and the texture of it. It wasn't cream, it was like some sort of berry flavored jam thing. But their box and what they use to sell their dessert in is really good and beautiful.

MYHONEYMOON.  OK Jul 31, 2012

'Our Desserts, Your Honeymoon', is the slogan used by My Honeymoon, which we think is pretty creative, sweet and meaningful. My Honeymoon is created by a couple who shares a mutual love for desserts and spent their honeymoon in Hong Kong just trying out desserts! Can you believe that? I mean, they just went to Hong Kong, not to visit the the tourist destination but instead they tried almost every dessert shop in Hong Kong! Something really interesting, isn't it?

This is their Mango Black Sago [RM6+]. This dessert is actually plain tasteless black sago with mango pieces and some coconut milk or cream? Not too sure which it was, but we think it's coconut milk. The mango pieces were very sweet, and was a good combination with the creamyness of the milk and the tasteless black sago. It'll be better if there's some ice added into this dessert.

This is their Grass Jelly Sago [RM5]. In this dessert, there are cubes of grass jelly, shaved ice, same cream/milk as the dessert above and sago! smile We usually order this when we visit My Honeymoon. Really because the milk goes really well with the sago, grass jelly and shaved ice. The combination is really so good! This is really recommended. But it's really milky.

Overall, the desserts in My Honeymoon are really good. And they have a really wide range of desserts to choose from. They not only have cold dessert but they also have hot desserts like Soyabean Pudding [Tau Fu Fah]. So that's an alternative for those who don't like cold desserts. For the prices, it's quite reasonable for what you're paying for. A little note for everyone out there, don't always stick to the usual dessert like Snowflake. Try out something new like My Honeymoon. It might actually made your day! smile

FORMOSATAIWANESEFOOD. Smile Jul 31, 2012

So what does the term Formosa actually mean? If you do not know this, back like centuries ago, the place we call now Taiwan is not called Taiwan. They call that place Formosa. This means, historically Taiwan was actually named Formosa by the Portuguese which actually means beautiful island. Let's look closer to the food shall we? smile

In Formosa, it's a little different because, they have a lot of set meals. And these set meals are really affordable and convenient for students and also office workers. But for that day, we ordered a bowl of Oyster Mee Sua [RM4++]. Sorry, I forgotten the exact price of the food. The bowl of mee sua was so gooood. To top it off, the few drops of peppers and coriander and oyster, makes it all better. It was served hot and it tasted even better. I sweated so much while eating because of the goodness of this bowl. I couldn't stop eating it. They served their chili paste separately, so that's good. Because if you don't want it to be too spicy, then you can put lesser. Alter it according to your choice!

I also ordered one of their sets. But I forgotten what's the name of the set. The set consisted of a really large piece of Fried Chicken, Braised Tofu and Egg and also a bowl of Steamed Rice with some preserved vegetables and some gravy on the top [RM10]. This was also so good! smile I saw most of their customers having the fried chicken set. Because it's really cheap and satisfying to have it for lunch! Their fried chicken was crispy from top to bottom. And it wasn't too oily. Their tofu and egg was filled with the herbs aroma. The rice and the chicken is a really good combination.

The food in Formosa is really so good, that makes me going back all the time. Many people don't know that Asian Avenue has so many stalls of good food. Please drop by their stall to make my tummies happy! smile

AMAZINGROJAK Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Indian | Stall / Warung

If you are a Subang-er, you probably know the fact that many people don't mind lining up no matter under rain or shine, just to have a plate of this indian rojak. If you're not a Subang-er, the stall is actually located near KFC, the really famous fruits shops and also Subang Square. Without fail, every time we pass there, no matter what day, there is always a really long line at this indian rojak shop. I am really not over exaggerating! You don't believe it, go see it for yourself.

I ordered the Indian Rojak with additional Sotong and Telur (Squids and Egg) [RM4.50]. In that one plate, it contains fried dough fritters, bean curds, prawn fritters, some additional indian fried thing that we are not so sure what it's called smile, hard boiled eggs, shredded cucumber and turnip and top it off with some amazing sweet and a little spicy peanut sauce.

If you really ask my opinion, the rojak is really so good! lol There are no words that could describe how good the rojak is. The fried items were so crunchy and crispy and the sauce had the right balance of sweet and spicyness. And the sauce really blend so well with the other stuffs.

HOTSTARFRIEDCHICKEN. Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Warung

Hot Star isn't the first shop to introduce Malaysia the Taiwanese Large Fried Chicken. But it is actually the first shop that we have come across that only specializes on fried chicken. Most of the other Taiwanese shop sell other food like rice and mee sua, but Hot Star doesn't! Think of it like a Taiwanese version of KFC.

This is their Hot Star BBQ Large Fried Chicken [RM7.90]. f you prefer something a little sweet and salty, we suggest you for their BBQ large fried chicken. It's really really good! Their fried chicken is not oily at all, and the ratio between the flour and chicken is appropriate, so that's a good thing. And their fried chicken is really meaty and not boney! Very very good! smile yum yum.
