Cheesy ebi Smile Oct 24, 2012

This is the Cheesy Ebi which I stumbled upon one day while purchasing breakfast at The Loaf. Feeling adventurous I bought one to try. The bread looks harmless on the outside but when I bite into I was surprised. Somehow the cheese mixed well with the fresh prawn and it tasted weird to me. I am not the type of person who enjoys seafood early in the morning so I was quite surprised with the bread. The prawn was still bouncy and juicy and it was still warm as cheese oozes out.

peanut butter donut Smile Oct 24, 2012

Donuts are one of my favourite tea time snacks and I would usually purchase half a dozen during lunch and keep them for tea time later. One of my favourite donut is the peanut butter donut from J.Co Donuts. The peanut butter is stuffed into the donut and the top part has a glazing of peanut butter and nut crumbs. The peanut butter cream inside the donut is quite light and has a strong nutty taste.

Beef ribs Smile Oct 24, 2012

Tony Roma's served good ribs but the down side was it was beef instead of pork. I did not dare to set the bar too high when I ordered my platter of ribs.

The ribs were humongous, maybe it is because bovine bones were bigger than porcine but more on that another time. For me the sauce overpowered the spices and natural flavor of the beef. The prawns were crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. While the mash potato was a bit too dry for my liking.

beef nabemono OK Oct 23, 2012

Sushi Zanmai was having their monthly promotion where a unique item or japanese cuisine will be featured and given discount for the whole month. Incidentally this month, their promotion is on nabemono. Nabemono is a something like shabu shabu except it is in a smaller scale and fit for 2 person maximum. I ordered the beef nabemono which was very small bowl. The soup stock was delicious and the beef was tender too. The mee was a bit too soggy in my opinion and did not go well with the soup.

Grape smoothie Smile Oct 23, 2012

Was bored with usual drink of milk tea with pudding, so I went for the grape yogurt instead. Its a mixture of grape juice or extract and a small amount of yogurt to make it sweet while leaving the telltale tangy aftertaste of yogurt. The most interesting thing about this drink is they put in chunks of seedless grapes into the drink. The grapes are cut into little cubes without it's skin and goes well with the drink.
