Big prawns OK Jul 27, 2012

The famous char koay teow in Penang! Also famous for charging high prices and for having a stuck up attitude.

Erk.. Why is a man cooking Sister's CKT? tongue

Look at the size of the prawn they include in the noodle! It's so huge, much bigger than the prawns I normally see in char koay teow. Fresh and crunchy too. Apart from that though, I didn't find anything special about their noodles that would upkeep such a name. I don't mind paying more for good special food but this is a 1-time-try thing.

After a disappointing day of not having the chance to taste the famous Sister's Char Koay Teow, my friend was so excited to find it here in Gurney Drive. Hence, the plate of (more expensive than usual) Char Koay Teow with duck egg. Like some other dishes we ordered here, it was way too salty for us!! Maybe it's the duck egg? There wasn't a smoky aroma, just saltiness. The extra we paid for the duck egg was not worth it.

Char Koay Kak OK Aug 06, 2012   (Related Review)

This plate of char koay kak is definitely not the best I have had in Penang AND in KL. The pieces are quite big and they aren't soft enough. More like chewy and bouncy instead of a softer melty texture. The portion is reasonable though and they do include lots of big, juicy beansprouts. The dish, especially the egg pieces, were very salty. Apart from the salt, I don't really taste much from this dish.

Seafood OK Aug 03, 2012   (Related Review)

This is a plate of some assorted seafood. Honestly, I think that if a dish has to depend mainly on its sauces for flavour, it is not a very good dish. These, especially the tofu (did not even have the bean taste) were rather bland. The fish cake in crab shell may look good but it was incredibly hard to remove from the shell! Overall, the seafood's fresh and the fried ones were oily. Just would have preferred more taste.
