dine in during lunch, and was disappointed with the menu where it only show bento or set meals for dinner price.
totally not worthy, and they claimed  that they used premium tea which does not allow any refill.
bento average price range from RM40 onwards, and receipt is hand written.

Terrified breakfast Cry Apr 25, 2014

Drove to look for fish noodles at 88 market place, and a friend of mine had tried this shop before get us there.

My friend initial order for fish noodles was fried fish with konlou noodles. Guess what? The noodles came as soup noodles and not fried fish. We are rushing so we did not made any complaint to change the fish noodles. I ordered just fish meat only. Mix grouper fish meat without noodles, just to try out the deep sea fish meat. WTF! The first bite of the fish was fishy and stinky, and not to forget the fish scales that were still attached to the skin. At that moment, I suspected that they served us overnight fish meat, in which they didn't sold out the night before, and that meal which we had was at morning around 9am. Heck! I would not step into this shop again for the stinky and fishy fish meat taste still fresh in my mind!

Tea time at Padi House OK May 13, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Sweets/Snack

Have seen a lot of changes in Setia Walk ever since last year visit.

My friend brought me to thi s place, Padi House for a high tea. It is actually coincide with my birthday (soon), and she decided to choose a piece of cake to have an early celebration.

We had ordered a mascarpone layer cake, a set of camomile tea, and to quench my thirst, I added one double fruit juice (orange+granny smith).

Although the mascarpone layer cake is one of the chef recommended, I did not taste any wow factor in it. Overall, the cake just taste blanc, and in the middle of the cake, they put in the lady finger's which is commonly used to make tiramisu. Frankly speaking, a tiramisu cake is more well worthy than this mascarpone layer cake. I had expected it to be more cheesy and creamy, because of using mascarpone as the attraction. However, it was not as what I had expected. Oh, well... it is definitely own preferences. If you like to have lighter taste of mascarpone cake, without the feeling of getting to creamy taste from the cake, then you might prefer this mascarpone cake.

The camomile tea is quite common. For those whom likes to chit chat while and spend time at a place to have gathering, you might opt to get the tea, as they will give free refill of hot water to the tea bags.

The fruit juice that served had no added sugar, and I had asked them to serve with no ice cubes. Fruit juice was a safer choice, but the volume seems to be a little too small for me.

The service from today's visit was somewhat disappointing. Lack of attention, and hard to get any waiters or waitresses to notice you, especially when you are seated at the smoking area.

curry mee OK May 05, 2014

Saw  this penang road famous teochew chendul shop. I stopped by and have a good look, and curry mee and asam laksa are on the menu board. Well, I can't really get the aroma of the asam laksa but I can easily catch the curry mee scent overpowering the shop.  What's more?  I went to the counter to order a bowl of curry mee (it is vermicelli mixes with noodle) and their original chendul.

The curry mee was jus nice to me with handful of curry flavour and not spicy at all (a bit  disappointed as I wanted a little spiciness). Nevertheless,  the curry mee still better than the chendul which I think I can have better chendul at other places such as at ss22... and the chendul is rather too heavy with coconut milk.  The red beans were disastrous as I taste not fresh and smell like it had been kept in a fridge for more than a week. It does smells like that to me.. because I had kept red bean dessert too long in the fridges that it smells like rotten to me.
It might not my day to get such a bowl of chendul.. but I shouldn't be served to me at the first place because they supposed to have keep a good reputation for quality chendul...
Curry mee is good. ..jus that those served cockles were too small.

Lunch OK Apr 28, 2014

Once arrived at Sabah, my friend and I called an old taxi uncle whom we called him as Uncle Siao. He is a very kind taxi driver whom is willing to bring us to eat at Restaurant Kuo Man.

Each of us ordered a different type of meal, uncle with his beef stew dry tuaran mee, my friend with mix fish fillet with dry tuaran mee, and lastly me with mix pork with dry tuaran mee.

I was not impressed with the mix pork dry tuaran mee, as the pork taste too porky to me. I do not have the exact word to describe the porky taste, but I can be sure to tell that the pork smell had covered the whole freshness of the soup. The intestine however, taste good and I am not a fan for kidney, so, I could not comment much on it.

I did not try the beef stew either. Therefore, I could not chip in my opinion for the beef stew. Somehow, my friend and Uncle Siao said the beef stew was awesome, and smooth. For those whom can have beef, you might want to have a try.

The killer for all these 3 types, was the mix fish fillet dry tuaran mee. The tuaran mee seems ordinary for me, although I must admit the chillies together with the tuaran mee was good. The fish fillet served were all fresh, you do not have the stinky smell of rotten fish meat taste when you take the first bite. The soup was filled with the fish essence. Worth to try the fish fillet mee. (Quite expensive though, just be prepared)
