I am always a fan of Japanese food, even Japanese curry rice!

I love the not-too-overloaded sweetness in the Japanese curry with appropriate level of spiciness.

Do you know the Japanese use apple paste in their Japanese curry?

That is why Japanese curry tastes lighter but not too bulky like other types of curry in Malaysia.

I was invited to the grand launch of Coco ICHIBANYA, 1Utama along with other MHB members and the founder.

I was among the first few to try their Japanese curry rice.

This is a very new concept in Malaysia to have an outlet specially for Japanese curry rice.

Guess what? Quite a number of people don't know about Japanese curry.

I saw their puzzled looks when I mentioned "Japanese curry".MHB members - Yours truly, Kate Lee, Kelly Siew, Sharon Loh, Stephanie Lim.Supermodel Amber Chia. TV Host Gary Yap, Orange Ning and Julie Woon.

CoCo ICHIBANYA’s tagline is “The
tastiness you can choose” where you get to customise your meal based on
your preference and appetite – from the spiciness level of the curry, to
the various toppings, and even the amount of rice. There are 7
different levels of spiciness for the curry, starting from mild for
kids, the signature original flavour, and from level one’s medium hot to
level five’s “crazy hot”.

There is a selection of over 30 meat and
seafood varieties to choose from including chicken, beef, pork, prawns,
clams and more, and some are paired with toppings such as egg, corn and
croquettes. If you’d like more toppings just add-on what you want or if
you want more/ less rice, simply order the amount that is right for
you.

On the menu are also some fusion items
like spaghetti with curry meat sauce, curry gratin and curry pilaf,
while for those who don’t eat spicy food there are also non-spicy
options such as seafood spaghetti with cream, creamy corn soup and
salads. Have some juices, coffee, teas, soft drinks, floats, milkshakes
or even beer to go along with your meal and have a sweet ending with
some Matcha or vanilla ice cream!

------------------------------

Some of their signature dishes:

Seafood Spaghetti RM22

Grilled Spinach, Bacon and Corn Curry RM20.00

*Signature Star dish* Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry RM26.00

There are 5 levels of spiciness available. I personally think level 3 is just nice for the aroma, spiciness and taste.

The spiciness of level 3 does not overwhelm the aroma and taste of the Japanese curry gravy. For people who love to challenge the maximum spiciness can go for level 5.

For people who can't take spicy food, you may stick to standard which is level 1 and enjoy the taste and aroma of Japanese curry.

Fried fish curry RM25

Fried Chicken Curry RM20.00

The chicken cutlets were crispy on the outside but tender on the inside.

Perfectly accommodated the Japanese curry gravy.

Coco ICHIBANYA serves more than what I posted. For full menu, please click HERE!

The CoCo ICHIBANYA branch in 1 Utama seats a
maximum of 65 persons in the 128 square meters restaurant which exudes a
casual, friendly and unpretentious ambience. Folks in Penang, look out
for the second outlet which will be opening in Queensbay Mall soon.

I had a wonderful experience dining at Coco ICHIBANYA even though I was served with only few dishes but I will definitely going back for their Japanese omurice!I had my Japanese curry rice at Coco ICHIBANYA, have you?

Yummy!

*burp* *oopsy*

I didn't know about the existence of this place until my boyfriend mentioned about it!

The way he described it like typical steamboat noodles with frozen steamboat ingredients.

I told him, "Hey! I must it on my own! Your description is really misleading!"

It has a very ancient China feeling.

Imagine the scenes you saw in dramas.

Oh yes, exactly those!

"Noodles", it said.

As a first timer, I chose Home made fish paste as my choice!

Taste is good, soup is good, ingredients are fresh, portion is generous & the price is definitely affordable.

Definitely not a what my boyfriend described it as!

This is way better than what I imagined it to be!

They only have limited choices of soup base, Clear Fish Soup OR Spicy Soup.

You can choose to mix and match by yourself (a.k.a. M.I.Y.).

My choices:

Home made fish paste (FRESH!)
Clear Fish Soup (YUMMY!)
Additional vegetables
Rice noodles (not Rice vermicelli!)

My boyfriend's choices:

Pork balls
Clear Fish Soup (He said the spicy soup is nice too!)
Bursting Meat balls (This is nice!)
Rice Noodles

If you opt for extra alcoholic flavour, you may purchase a bottle of chinese wine and keep it at the restaurant.

The rice wine comes in different range based on the age.

The one I added is 5 years old rice wine.

You may add it into your soup for the extra OHM!

BUT....

Be careful on the amount you add.

My boyfriend added too much into my soup.

K.O.

I will be back for more comfort food!

***I don't own all these photos***

I was being invited to the soft launch of Tossed, which is located at Jaya Shopping Centre on one fine Sunday.

I was welcomed by all these relaxing props.

I like how it is decorated with mock grass with comfortable furniture, like bean bags and chairs.

Imagine blogging at such an environment.

Relaxing much.

I think I can definitely write better at there.

I THINK.

==============================

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Tossed! Signature Fruit Salad

RM18.90

An explosion of colour and flavor tossing fresh fruits & vegetables with homemade vinaigrette.

It consists of many kinds of fruits!

Definitely our daily dose of Vitamin C!

Secret between you and me, this was how the boss attracted his wife.

*hint hint*

Cappuccino

RM10

Spicy Seared Salmon

RM14.90

Salmon pieces seared to perfection with chilli & an assortment of spices.

A good plate to share with your friends and family while dining at Tossed!

Laksa Johor

RM16.90

Spaghetti in slowly simmered fish gravy topped with fresh vegetables served with a homemade sambal.

I love how the bean sprouts match with the broth but a little too salty to my liking.

Tossed! Beef Burger

RM22.90

Home-cooked style gourmet beef patty slapped together with a slice of aged cheddar and an array of fresh vegetables in a bun, which will surely satisfy.

Carbonara

RM18.90

Turkey ham & mushrooms in an egg and cream based sauce.

Don't leave it for too long as it will get too thick and sticky.

This is good while it is hot.

Creamy, Flavourful and yummy.

Basil Pesto

RM18.90

Chicken fillet served in a creamy pesto.

This is delicious.

One of the best pesto I ever tried.

Triple Melt Cheese Toast

RM12.90

An assortment of three cheeses melted between toasted bread.

Mediterranean Lamb Salad

RM19.90

Juicy boneless leg of lamb marinated in a Mediterranean style accompanied with feta cheese over a bed of salad and finished off with a balsamic reduction.

The taste of the lamb is not too strong.

Suitable for people who dislike the overwhelming taste, even I can accept it.

Salmone

RM20.90

A salmon infused creamy tomato sauce.

Not the one I've expected, taste wise is just alright.

TOSSED! SEVEN STARS: SIGNATURE DRINKS (from left to right)

Award Winning “Honey Bee” RM12

East meets West in a concoction of refreshing & herbaceous flavours. (This is good for people who dislike something too sweet but flavourful.)

Shaken Cranberry Tea RM10

Soothing teas with a hint of cranberry. (This is good! Refreshing and not too sweet!)

Fizzy Blue Lemonade RM10

A pineapple infused favourite. (I personally like the mild pineapple taste but a little too sweet to my liking.)

Sirap Bandung RM8

A classic drink that is infused with rose, soda, and Australian milk. (Sparkling Sirap Bandung. Don't leave it for too long as the melted ice will dilute the taste.)

Lychee Virgin Mojito RM12

Your virgin mojito with a local twist. (A little too sweet but the lychee taste is yummy.)

The Rocher RM12

Chocolate hazelnut milkshake. (I prefer something more chocolatey if I opt for a chocolate drink.)

Café Latte

RM10

Tossed!

I was brought to this non-halal cafe not long ago.

I was like...hmm....another cafe with typical black interior.

=X

But they changed my mind with their food.

If you pay attention to the details, you will find things that excite you.

Ordered Green tea by pot and requested for two cups.

The kind of food that changed my mind.

PORK MEATBALLS!

I hardly came across pork meatballs in Malaysia!

This is very tender and juicy too!

Sorry because I took a bite. =P

Egg Benny.

Not the typical egg benedict but with pork bacon!

I really have to hashtag #eggporn. This is what I usually do if I dress up a little.

Anyway, below are the details of the cafe:

1Utama outlet is one of the many outlets which adopted Green concept.

MATERIAL

The outlet is well-designed with natural recycled wood which often available for purchase from several second-hand wood shops.

The craftsmen had to spend days just to remove the nails from the wood before they can proceed with the painting and installation works.

ENERGY SAVING & CARBON REDUCTION

Energy saving air-conditioner & LED lamps were installed as one of the contribution towards our lovely Mother Earth.

TOILETS

Besides all these, their toilets are environmental friendly too!

Eco-friendly bidet toilet which is made in Korea come with several useful functions to reduce the usage of toilet paper.

DECORATIONS

The repackaging of the old, used items has done by BMS creative team.

Very catchy, very friendly to our environment as they recycled the unwanted items instead of disposing them.

If you want to enjoy the best things in the world, you need to have a good health.

Being healthy doesn't mean have to skip all your favourite food.

Instead, you can convert them into healthier options with healthier ingredients.

Besides cafe, they are selling all kinds of organic merchandises as well.

From skin care range to daily sauces.

It is a great place to shop for you needs and wants.

FOOD REVIEW

We were served Less sugar Ginger tea and Spirulina tablets before meal.

If you do not know the benefits of Ginger and Spirulina,

Click HERE for GINGER and HERE for SPIRULINA!

Fruit Tea RM17.90

I always love to have fruit tea at organic vegetarian food parlours.

This is definitely to my liking as it is not too sweet with the strong hints of various types of fruits.

Besides that, it is also rich in Vitamin C and other types of vitamins.

Definitely beneficial for our health.

If you prefer it with stronger taste, do press it to squeeze more essence out from the fruits.

It is now ready to serve and enjoy it.

******SIGNATURE*****

Organic Soy Milk Curry Laksa Noodles Set Meal RM23.90

Why is this their signature dish?

They replace the unhealthy coconut milk with Organic Soya Milk (worry no more about cholesterol)
They replace the traditional cooking oil with Grape Seed Oil
Alfafa Sprout (prevent arteriosclerosis)
Home-made grind herbs and spices for better taste
Unbleached Flour and Brown Rice Vermicelli (ZERO burden to the body)
Organic Coconut Oil to boost up metabolism

Sounds too healthy and you don't think it is yummy?

YOU ARE WRONG!

It is yummy!!!

Taste just like the typical laksa but beneficial to our bodies!

Don't compromise but switch to healthier options of your favourite food!

Five Colours Energy Chinese Ulam Rice (Hakka Lei Cha)

Black (Kidney) - Organic Black Fungus (High in protein) & Organic Black Sesame (Nourishes blood and hair)

My first try on Lei Cha was good.

The High-Fibre Lei Cha soup is smooth and flavourish with a hint of mint taste.

How to eat?

Just add your desire amount of the ingredients and mix it with the soup!

Chinese Traditional Herbal Soup with Rice (Vegetarian BKT)

This is another best seller.

Unlike the Vegetarian BKT I've tried, this is rich in herbs and well-flavoured with herbal taste.

I can now add another dish into my list because I am not a fan of the meat in the traditional BKT but I love the soup!

It may look small but trust me, it isn't small.

Full of healthy organic ingredients in healthy herbal soup.

YUM!

The best moment is to have a cup of fruit tea after all the healthy food.

Today, I feel so healthy and happy for my body.
