Two Pesos Steamboat, SS2 Smile Jun 30, 2015

Have been listening to a lot of comments and saw a lot of photos about this place.

I've came across the affordable price with the worth-the-price portion!

No MSG, no preservatives!

All the flavours are well-blended by Two Pesos.

This is their menu.

Sorry, there is no English version.

FYI, I can read Chinese and speak fluent Mandarin.

*My relatives thought I couldn't. T___T*

Back to the topic, I will roughly list out some of the special flavours they have.

For example, Milky Steamboat with Seafood, Sukiyaki, Mongolian Herbal, Taiwanese Satay and more!

My friend ordered the Two Pesos Stone Pot which is the clear soup.

RM13.50.

This is not the only ingredients, of course.

Oh yes, this belongs to my friend.

Seafood, Corn, Vegetables and etc.

I ordered the Milky Steamboat with Seafood.

RM14.

This is how it was when the waiter served me this pot.

Full of ingredients.

Turn up the flame and boil the soup.

The ingredients will slowly immerse into the MILKy broth.

The end product.

I like it.

I love milk and of course, milky products.

Concentrated(Don't imagine it as Condensed Milk), creamy and the taste is just nice.

If you don't fancy milk that much, don't try this.

How can I not take a picture with my first Milky Steamboat?

http://instagram.com/jiayeen *Ignore my zit. =(*

A closer look of me with my Milky steamboat!

Look at the broth!

Due to the affordable price, you have to do some of the things by yourself.

Top up your own broth. Get your own utensils and sauces.

Another thing is......if you are going in a group of more than 4, you all might have to sit separately because they do not have long table to cater for a big group of more than 4.

People have been telling me about this place.

They even complained about the price.

Their price for a decent plate of BBQ Pork a.k.a. Char Siew is actually reasonable due to the current inflated prices everywhere.

It is not easy to be found for a non-local.

As I have been staying in PJ for my whole life, it is easy peasy lemon squeezy to me!

Come on, PJ roads aren't that bad as compared to other roads!

FYI, I have been trying on Full Manual camera settings, courtesy of Sony because Sony gave me an opportunity to obtain some basic photography skills!

Therefore, the photos below are 100% Manual settings with no edit!

I didn't want to have Oily rice for my lunch so I've decided to order their Hakka Noodles.

It was not bad for me as not too dry with appropriate amount of sauce and soup.

The portion for this bowl of Hakka Noodles is quite huge(I have normal appetite) for me.

It would be great for a big eater, especially a guy? I presumed?

BBQ Pork a.k.a. Char Siew.

It was awesome for the first few bites.

The melting caramelised char siew in your mouth........with the dissolving fats of char siew.

After a few bites, I couldn't take in more because it is seriously too sticky and too sweet to me.

Over-caramelised, I must say.

Smoked Chicken Leg was our only choice as we were being told that the char siew is only left with one person's portion.

This is quite pricey as compared to char siew or normal chicken rice.

Reasonable as they gave the whole leg!

The only downside is.....never eat it with Char Siew.

Char Siew's taste will overwhelm its taste!

Char Siew 1, Smoked Chicken Leg 0.

You lost!

BUT...individually, it is nice!

Smokey Chicken Leg.

Not too salty nor blunt.

People kept checking in this place for their nutella pizza.

I was curious enough to check out this place on a fine Sunday.

It is not really near to where I stay.

It is definitely worth my trip.

The prices are not pricey and the portion of the food is generous.

We used GPS to find this place as we are not familiar with Sg. Besi area.

I am guessing they have the all-round Christmas feeling as their decoration theme is more towards the Christmas.

If you are following me on Instagram, you would've seen this picture.

Pineapple juice vs Apple juice.

Even the glasses they are using are in the shape of house.

Silent! The two bears are sleeping soundly!

They have nutcrackers everywhere.

It somehow reminds me of a Christmas movie which involved a lot of moving nutcrackers.

Oh me and my fantasy.

They serve big breakfast and other kinds of brunch.

What they are famous of are their all-day breakfast meals.

Savoury Waffles as well with grilled chicken chop.

The-nutella-pizza-that-attracted-me.

Nutella Pizza with bananas and strawberries.

I am always a fan of Japanese food, even Japanese curry rice!

I love the not-too-overloaded sweetness in the Japanese curry with appropriate level of spiciness.

Do you know the Japanese use apple paste in their Japanese curry?

That is why Japanese curry tastes lighter but not too bulky like other types of curry in Malaysia.

I was invited to the grand launch of Coco ICHIBANYA, 1Utama along with other MHB members and the founder.

I was among the first few to try their Japanese curry rice.

This is a very new concept in Malaysia to have an outlet specially for Japanese curry rice.

Guess what? Quite a number of people don't know about Japanese curry.

I saw their puzzled looks when I mentioned "Japanese curry".MHB members - Yours truly, Kate Lee, Kelly Siew, Sharon Loh, Stephanie Lim.Supermodel Amber Chia. TV Host Gary Yap, Orange Ning and Julie Woon.

CoCo ICHIBANYA’s tagline is “The
tastiness you can choose” where you get to customise your meal based on
your preference and appetite – from the spiciness level of the curry, to
the various toppings, and even the amount of rice. There are 7
different levels of spiciness for the curry, starting from mild for
kids, the signature original flavour, and from level one’s medium hot to
level five’s “crazy hot”.

There is a selection of over 30 meat and
seafood varieties to choose from including chicken, beef, pork, prawns,
clams and more, and some are paired with toppings such as egg, corn and
croquettes. If you’d like more toppings just add-on what you want or if
you want more/ less rice, simply order the amount that is right for
you.

On the menu are also some fusion items
like spaghetti with curry meat sauce, curry gratin and curry pilaf,
while for those who don’t eat spicy food there are also non-spicy
options such as seafood spaghetti with cream, creamy corn soup and
salads. Have some juices, coffee, teas, soft drinks, floats, milkshakes
or even beer to go along with your meal and have a sweet ending with
some Matcha or vanilla ice cream!

------------------------------

Some of their signature dishes:

Seafood Spaghetti RM22

Grilled Spinach, Bacon and Corn Curry RM20.00

*Signature Star dish* Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry RM26.00

There are 5 levels of spiciness available. I personally think level 3 is just nice for the aroma, spiciness and taste.

The spiciness of level 3 does not overwhelm the aroma and taste of the Japanese curry gravy. For people who love to challenge the maximum spiciness can go for level 5.

For people who can't take spicy food, you may stick to standard which is level 1 and enjoy the taste and aroma of Japanese curry.

Fried fish curry RM25

Fried Chicken Curry RM20.00

The chicken cutlets were crispy on the outside but tender on the inside.

Perfectly accommodated the Japanese curry gravy.

Coco ICHIBANYA serves more than what I posted. For full menu, please click HERE!

The CoCo ICHIBANYA branch in 1 Utama seats a
maximum of 65 persons in the 128 square meters restaurant which exudes a
casual, friendly and unpretentious ambience. Folks in Penang, look out
for the second outlet which will be opening in Queensbay Mall soon.

I had a wonderful experience dining at Coco ICHIBANYA even though I was served with only few dishes but I will definitely going back for their Japanese omurice!I had my Japanese curry rice at Coco ICHIBANYA, have you?

Yummy!

*burp* *oopsy*

CoCo ICHIBANYA is a non-halal establishment which serves pork and beer.

CoCo ICHIBANYA is located at:

Lot LG 333A, Lower Ground (New Wing),

1 Utama Shopping Centre,

Bandar Utama,

47800 Petaling Jaya,

Selangor.

Telephone: 03-7732-8937

Operating Hours: Daily from 10.00am to 10.00pm

CoCo ICHIBANYA is a restaurant chain
owned by Fuji Group, the company of Fuji Japanese Restaurant in
Thailand, and for more information, head over to http://www.ichibanya.co.jp/english/index.html

I didn't know about the existence of this place until my boyfriend mentioned about it!

The way he described it like typical steamboat noodles with frozen steamboat ingredients.

I told him, "Hey! I must it on my own! Your description is really misleading!"

It has a very ancient China feeling.

Imagine the scenes you saw in dramas.

Oh yes, exactly those!

"Noodles", it said.

As a first timer, I chose Home made fish paste as my choice!

Taste is good, soup is good, ingredients are fresh, portion is generous & the price is definitely affordable.

Definitely not a what my boyfriend described it as!

This is way better than what I imagined it to be!

They only have limited choices of soup base, Clear Fish Soup OR Spicy Soup.

You can choose to mix and match by yourself (a.k.a. M.I.Y.).

My choices:

Home made fish paste (FRESH!)
Clear Fish Soup (YUMMY!)
Additional vegetables
Rice noodles (not Rice vermicelli!)

My boyfriend's choices:

Pork balls
Clear Fish Soup (He said the spicy soup is nice too!)
Bursting Meat balls (This is nice!)
Rice Noodles

If you opt for extra alcoholic flavour, you may purchase a bottle of chinese wine and keep it at the restaurant.

The rice wine comes in different range based on the age.

The one I added is 5 years old rice wine.

You may add it into your soup for the extra OHM!

BUT....

Be careful on the amount you add.

My boyfriend added too much into my soup.

K.O.
