The trend of drinking bubble milk tea or having a bowl of taiwanese dessert are so common among Malaysian these days. This particular store which I am writing about is not excluded from the trend. Buddy Soy Smoothies is a new store which just opened a few months back offers a wide range of drinks and dessert which emphasize on soy bean as the main ingredient. Located strategically next to Chatime at the lower ground floor, the store is not difficult to be found at all as it's not hidden at any corner in the shopping complex.

They use natural and fresh ingredients in every cup.

Sweet Corn Soy (RM4.80) which looks like corn in a cup!

Evergreen Japanese Cucumber (RM5.80) which was pretty refreshing. One of my favorite!

Cucur Udang. I prefer the traditional one which is crispier and more tasty.

Kaya Puff. Not too sweet and the pastries texture was smooth and won't fall apart in every single bite.

Coconut Tart. Something quite filling and I would say this one might be their best seller.

One of the all time favorites, the ABC The Lot RM5.30. For those ABC lover, this one is a must try.

Brotzeit German Beer Bar & Restaurant flagship outlet at Mid Valley will observe this tradition by having its very own official tapping of the first Octoberfest bier barrel. Brotzeit offers both indoor and outdoor dining options, in a chic and contemporary styled restaurant. We boasts the best of Bavarian cuisine, serving up grassroots cuisine from the beautiful south-eastern state of Germany and offering the widest range of premium biers from the Paulaner family of biers.

Salad mit Schafskase/ Feta Salad
This is mixed salad with feta cheese, red bell peppers, semi-dried tomatoes, onions, olives, garlic croutons and sour cream tossed with house dressing. The portion of this salad is easily good for 2-3 pax or even more. The combination of the sour cream and house dressing gives a very appetizing touch onto the salad. For those who doesn't like heavy feta cheese taste, you can still scoop it out from the salad.

Brotzeitflade Speck/ Bacon Pizza
This pizza consist of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, onions, vine ripened tomatoes and chili. This is one of the best pizza I've ever tasted. It's tasty, not too cheesy, crispy and spicy thanks to the chili padi.

As for the main dish, we had the Oktoberfest Platter which is not available yet on the menu. This sharing platter for 5-6 friends or family is only available during Oktoberfest. This platter comes with Brotzeit Signature Pork Knuckle, Oven Roasted Chicken, Gipsy Bacon, Lumberjack Steak and Garlic Pork Sausages. It is served with sauerkraut and potato salad. I like the sausage, roasted chicken and bacon but I find that the lumberjack steak was a little dry for my liking and the pork knuckle is quite oily.

Kaiserchmarren/ Emperor's Cake
Last but not least, the Emperor's cake derived from shredded pancake with rum and raisin served with plum sauce.

Sweet & Savoury Duo
This sweet and savoury duo are made with crispy chocolate bacon on white chocolate mousse with lemon pepper marinated strawberries and apricot sauce. Yes real bacon is used to make the crispy chocolate bacon.

Profiterole Duet
Next up is the Profiterole Duet. This is a chocolate profiterole with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sugar apple fritter on vanila sauce. The vanilla ice cream got my attention. it's soft and not too sweet for my liking.

Have you heard about this new taiwanese dessert shop called the Blackball? If you are staying around Subang SS15 or always hang out at Asia Cafe in Subang, I'm sure you won't miss this particular shop. It was back in the year 2006 where Blackball first started and it has bloomed up in a very short time standing as one of the biggest dessert chains in Taipei with over 20 outlets and still expanding. Now, we can all have experience the awesome and original Taiwanese tea and dessert at the first BlackBall outlet in Malaysia which is located in Subang SS15 as I had mention earlier.

Cranberry Crushed Ice with Milk (RM6.50) add Aloe Vera (RM1)

BlackBall Signature with Brown Sugar Jelly and Sweetened Bean (RM6.50)
The owner explained that their 'Xian Cao' is the finest quality 'Xian Cao' imported directly from Guan Xi, producing top notch quality 'Xian Cao' tea and grass jelly, it gives the heavenly taste we will never find in other dessert chains... literally they all tasted the same to me! xD

Red Bean Ice with Barley and Lotus Seed (RM6.50) add Sky Pearl (RM1.00)
The owner claimed that they use only handmade taro balls with natural ingredients, promising every customer that it is the most chewy taro balls have ever tasted.

By combining the various type of Original Taiwanese Tea selections with the dessert, customers can either choose to have a light drink or to have a bowl of icy cold or hot but refreshing dessert in Blackball.

Grass Jelly Ice with brown sugar and sweetened bean (RM6.50)

What I like most about Blackball is their Taroballs and Black Pearl. Price wise, quite competitive and of course they are way better than ZenQ!

What they can improve on is, their crushed ice and also maybe the size of the bowl. When the crushed ice melted, it seems to be almost overflow.

Although the famous Snowflake is just right beside them but their winning point is that the location of this floor is ground floor and most family members and elder people would rather settle down at Blackball instead of taking the stairs up to Snowflake.

Hey guys, some of you might know that I am from Sabah and seafood is very popular from the place where I come from. No doubt that sometimes I will have slight demand on choosing a seafood place to go to in terms of the taste, portion and price. Anyway, there is a seafood place very near to the place I stay which is in Kota Damansara. This seafood place is called Bali Hai Seafood Village.

For the very first dish, we had the Australian Lobster and Canadian Geoduck Sashimi with Superior Soup Steamboat. Lobster flesh is commonly known to be eaten raw but what about geoduck? Not many know about the taste of raw geoduck which is a species of very large, edible, saltwater clam.

I've tasted both the lobster and geoduck raw and cooked in the Superior Soup Steamboat. For the lobster, the flesh is soft, fresh and sweat and as for the geoduck, it has a chewy texture in it but quite appetizing.

Second dish is the Stir-fried Vegetables. This plate of vege comes with lotus, french beans, celery, cashew nut, wild mushroom and chili. It's nicely fried without overcooking it and not too salty or oily as well.

We had a fish dish next, and it's called the Vietnam Style Mackerel. The sauce that comes with the dish gives a sourish and sweet taste onto the fish good to eat along with rice. The sauce which is placed on the saucer is just for photography purposes.

The sauce is covered on top of the fried mackerel was tasty but I'm not quite sure if I can taste the freshness of the fish.

After that, we had the Golden Garlic Steamed Freshwater Lobster each. What I like most about this dish is the generous amount of garlic they topped on these freshwater lobsters. It was one of my favorite dish that night. I recommend this to you to give it a try.

Right after the delicious freshwater lobsters, we had the Crispy Deep Fried Chicken with Thai Sauce. From what we heard from the chef, this dish is cooked just like how they did in Thailand. The vege and the shredded chicken meat was put at the side of the roasted chicken. I kind of like the roasted chicken with the sweet and sour thai sauce with a hint of orange but the side vege and meat were a little out of the way to scoop them one by one.

The price for the set course above is RM 1388 and comes with Fresh Fruit Platter and sides starter.

I've been wanted to try Aunt Christina's Sarawak Laksa since a very long time after reading some of the food review blog post and my Sarawakian friends in KL who actually recommended this place one of the best Sarawak Laksa to be found in KL area.

Located at Lucky Garden in Bangsar, this little stall takes a part of Nam Chuan Coffeeshop. They have other choices such as economy rice, Penang prawn mee, pan mee and of course the Sarawak Laksa.

Laksa Sarawak (Small RM6.50 / Big RM7.00)

A bowl of Sarawak Laksa to cure my cravings. On top of the bee hoon, you can find the 2 fresh prawns, some chicken meat strips, bean sprouts, omelette strips and coriander leaves. In my opinion, the laksa gravy was pretty rich and the flavour was almost similar to the one I had back in Kuching a few months back but the bean sprouts was a little too much that every single bite I had to chew the bean sprout more than the noodle itself. The prawn was too raw as well, the laksa gravy wasn't hot enough to make it less raw. It was too pricy too. I guess maybe the rental in Bangsar cost more than places like PJ or the owner purposely increase the price just because some famous celebrity went to eat at the stall before and it was on the newspapers.

My typical cup of hot Milo while Daniel having his hot Teh-C.

Apart from the Sarawak Laksa, Aunt Christina also sells rendang, black pepper chicken and pig stomach which I heard was quite good as well.
