Gobo Upstairs Bar & Grill, Level 6, Traders KL

Gobo Upstairs Bar & Grill, Level 6, Traders KL

The restaurant name should be "Gobo Upstairs - Bar & Grill", which is located at Level 6, Traders Hotel, KLCC. Gobo Chit Chat is their buffet restaurant.
No more complimentary parking for diners unless you are hotel in-house guest.
Complimentary Truffle Butter with bread

Complimentary Truffle Butter with bread

Best thing for dining here is the complimentary truffles butter, together with the little bun that you can ask for more if it's not enough. (but always remember not to have too much of starter, you need to leave space for main course & dessert!)
Kobe D Rump RM105++

Kobe D Rump RM105++

300grams Kobe D Rump
Always order the best cut as it will definitely worth your money. We ordered it to be medium rare, which is the best for beef steak (our preference)!
We also ordered a 200grams Angus Sirloin to be medium rare but somehow it turn out to be more like medium well. Hmmmm... maybe I put it on my plate for too long and it cooked up itself (I was too busy with the side dishes I ordered, so beware, eat your main course first when it is served!)
Nolan Private Selection - T Bone Steak RM120++

Nolan Private Selection - T Bone Steak RM120++

This 500grams T-bone is super thick and nicely grilled. Love the sexy grill lines on it!
Norweigian Salmon Steak RM48++

Norweigian Salmon Steak RM48++

Other than beef, there are several seafood, lamb, vegetarian (risotto), pastas selection on menu too. not many choices though. I say we shall focus on beef when we come to Gobo!
This Salmon steak is not bad, the skin is crispy but somehow I think the chef sprinkled a bit too much of salt on it.
Mango Tart with Pepper Ice Cream

Mango Tart with Pepper Ice Cream

There are around 5 or 6 dessert to choose from. This is one that I must recommend, for the special sensation of pepper ice cream combine with mango tart. Yes, pepper ice cream! It's the first time I have spiciness in my ice cream!
Magic Mushroom

Magic Mushroom

Magic Mushroom is for those who love sweets. The dessert presentation is so cute!
The leg of the mushroom is actually something like pavlova and the top is blueberry mousse, another lovely combination!

I went to Gobo Upstairs twice in a month because I miss the truffles butter! But of course, the steak is a kill too! Too bad it is still a bit too expensive for me to dine in frequently, when is the next special occasion =p

Oh yes, you should call to make reservation before you go. Better to call earlier.

sunday brunch Smile Dec 25, 2012

went on a sunday afternoon for brunch.
Didn't know it was own by same boss of Levain before I was there but once you step in the shop you can surely recognise the selection of breads/cakes/dessert and so on. However, they have different hot food menu, more selection, i think.
Also, food price here is cheaper, i think it's because of the rental of the place as well.
Crowded on weekend so you might wan to consider to go early because the place is smaller compare to levain.

seafood aglio olio, better than I thought, but too much oil left in the plate.
I prefer it t be dryer, less oil visible on the plate. generous on seafood, i found more than 4 shrimps and many squid pieces.

Angry pizza. from the name I can guess that it's a spicy pizza and yes, it is spicy. but i didn't get angry eating it. LOL
the pizza crust is thin and look like indian's naan. good for sharing as the size is around a regular size pizza.
also, recommend to try their japanese dishes, there are more selection of japanese meal here, compared to Levain in Imbi.

Portobello Mushroom baked with Goat Curd Cheese RM42

First time trying this and I am so so so in loved!
The portobello is huge in size, 3 pieces in one plate but you can definitely share this with a few friends.
The goat cheese on top melted after wood-fire-oven-baked. taste really good!
Caesar Salad RM34

Caesar Salad RM34

Caesar salad is one of my all time favorite salad starter too. Prego's caesar salad never let me down, with the beautiful poached eggs and generous parmesan cheese~ another restaurant that serve good caesar salad is The Mill, Grand Millennium KL. It is a buffet restaurant, but I always just go for the caesar salad..=p

Southgate is a very quiet mall, but still I love going there, only for the pork restaurant located in it, Kafe Tery Pork.

Pork Rib Ramen RM13.90

Pork Rib Ramen RM13.90

They have many selection of pork dishes, one of the popular one is ramen, and this is one of the choices they have for ramen. The dish looks normal but the pork bacon is very well=prepared, for pork lover like me. They also have rice if you think noodles is not your thing.
Breaded Pork with Cheese (Double) RM28

Breaded Pork with Cheese (Double) RM28

One of the western dish selction, cheesy pork roll. They already pre-cut the pork roll and the cheese actually flowing out already. omg so tempted!
Pork Meat Ball Pasta RM12.90

Pork Meat Ball Pasta RM12.90

They have spaghetti too. I was not very looking forward to it but it came out really nice. the pork meat ball smell so good and so tender and yummy! The spaghetti is a little bit too wet though, if they can fried it over the pan, I think i will be even better!

Spending per head: Approximately RM20(午餐)

Went to Marmalade in Publika for a brunch with a birthday girl friend.
This branch is bigger than Marmalade in Bangsar Village and I personally prefer this branch if you ask me.

It is actually quite far away, you need to walk out from publika and it is located nearby the children playground. Ask direction at concierge counter if you are lost.
The Works RM28

The Works RM28

I had this as I always love breakfast meal. Love the grilled mushrooms but the baked beans are too cold, hope it is warm. This is a no pork food place, but I wish they could give selection to replace chicken sausages with beef sausages or beef bacons. =p
The potato cake is quite special, they actually lightly fried a scoop of mashed potato over the pan and it harden on the surface like a potato biscuit.
Green Eggs RM17

Green Eggs RM17

My vegetarian friend order this green egg. Pesto scramble egg on a toast serve with grilled mushroom. We all love mushrooms, don't we? I think it is a very special dish as I never tried any other pesto dishes other than pesto pasta.
Aglio Olio RM24

Aglio Olio RM24

Their Aglio Olio is very colorful! unlike the other plain aglio olio spaghetti which just come with seafood slices, this aglio olio comes with lots of mushrooms and colorful vege! love it!
