sunday brunch Smile Dec 25, 2012

Categories : Café | Burgers / Sandwiches | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

went on a sunday afternoon for brunch.
Didn't know it was own by same boss of Levain before I was there but once you step in the shop you can surely recognise the selection of breads/cakes/dessert and so on. However, they have different hot food menu, more selection, i think.
Also, food price here is cheaper, i think it's because of the rental of the place as well.
Crowded on weekend so you might wan to consider to go early because the place is smaller compare to levain.

seafood aglio olio, better than I thought, but too much oil left in the plate.
I prefer it t be dryer, less oil visible on the plate. generous on seafood, i found more than 4 shrimps and many squid pieces.

Angry pizza. from the name I can guess that it's a spicy pizza and yes, it is spicy. but i didn't get angry eating it. LOL
the pizza crust is thin and look like indian's naan. good for sharing as the size is around a regular size pizza.
also, recommend to try their japanese dishes, there are more selection of japanese meal here, compared to Levain in Imbi.

Went to EST first wine pairing dinner with Jean-Baptiste Audy Wines.
It was my first wine pairing dinner experience and i hope i get to go for more.. =p
the dinner was held in a private room inside EST.

Menu for that night. RM230++ per pax.

we got to try 4 wines which is paired with our courses. I really love the rose wine that we started with.

The appetizer was nicely presented and i love how the tuna having a pink frame on the outer layer. the pesto sauce on top match well with the fish too.

cream of mushroom that served with a piece of fried mushroom on the side. this dish is ok for me but my friend love it, he said it was the best mushroom soup he never had.. hmmm..

my main course, the beef!
frankly speaking i love the grass-fed tenderloin more than the marble score 5 wagyu skirt steak. i will appreciate more if they serve me a wagyu tenderloin but that could cost MORE for sure? maybe i am just not used to beef which is too raw (asked for medium but i think the wagyu is medium rare). but overall i still love my main course!

our dessert was flour-less chocalate cake. i love it! the combination of the chocolate and cherries are just fantastic! i wish i can have more of this.

ended with a pot of T2 Earl Grey, with more sweet stuff which is not in the picture.

the dinner was great and i need to learn more on wine. hope to see more wine pairing dinner event coming up.

Best Spicy Pan Mee Smile Sep 23, 2012

Their famous dry chili, be careful with the amount that you are adding in your bowl. kinda spicy compare to some other spicy pan mee store.

How to eat spicy pan mee? I love the eggs! just add in some chili and mix everything together!!
I never really like dry type pan mee but this is good! I try the pan me without adding chili, taste good too, not those plain without taste type.
after adding in the chili, i feel like i can eat two bowl! (the portion is not very big though, and they only have one size)
I see a lot of tables were ordering 3 bowls for two pax. I had my lunch before having this, so I had half bowl and my brother had one and a half bowl all by himself.

you can also add some more to go along with your noodles. there are meatballs, fishballs and fu zuk.. I love fu zuk!

Went to Paper+Toast again.
The friendly staff asked why I have not visit them for a long time, surprised that he still remember me. =)
The last visit was when I lost appetite to any food, I asked if they have any muesli or oatmeal, they custom made a bowl of milky oatmeal for me. Very nice.
Smoke Salmon Sandwich RM18

Smoke Salmon Sandwich RM18

Today he suggested me the "small bites sandwiches", end up it's still quite huge! But I finish it up. taste really good!
The half size sandwich is served with swee potato chips. yummy.
generous portion

I think there are at least two to three pieces of smoked salmon. The sandwich is very soft, they have two type of sandwich for you to choose from, I choose the soft one.
Taste good, I love it and will be back again soon!

I also love Prego for their wood-fire baked pizza.
Four Chesse Pizza RM43

Four Chesse Pizza RM43

The four cheese are: Taleggio, Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Fontina
with simple tomato sauce and crunchy thin crust which is baked in wood-fire oven, i am impressed. This pizza is good for a gathering for both cheese lover & vegetarian eater.
I love rolling it up to eat like a pizza roll, yummylicious!!
