Nice fried pork Smile May 08, 2012

Passby this shop several time but never walk in because I personally dislike fried stuff.
Give it a chance one afternoon because I am quite bored with the normal lunch selection in Pavilion already.
I am glad I gave it a chance, i love it!

A set which come with rice (refillable), tofu, miso soup, cabbage (refillable) and the fried pork dish.

pork fillet cutlet & pork loin cutlet

although the pork is fried to golden crunchy, the inner layer is not dried up, still tender and juicy!!! and it is not oily because they did put a steel stand to let the oil drip down to the plate, not absorb back in the meat. very nice.
I love the cabbage!
One more special thing in this restaurant is you can mix your own sesame sauce for your tonkatsu! the waitress will help you up if you dunno how.

not a very affordable lunch but the portion is big, with the refillable rice and cabbage, you can definitely get a very full lunch.

Cay Tea, traditional tea from Turkey. Not bad. best if you are having sweet ice cream, drink this the mild up the sweetness in your mouth.

four scoops. we had honey (super sweet), strawberry (a bit sour but still sweet), hazelnut and the original goat milk vanilla flavor. I love the original one the most!
Pistachio Special RM26

Pistachio Special RM26

ice cream on plate, have to eat it with fork and knife! it won't melt fast so you can slowly enjoy it. the pastry beside are traditional turkish dessert pasrty, love the baklavas (the puff thing) the most! the dolama (green sausage made from Pistachio) is too sweet for me.
the Pistachio ice cream slice are very special, I do not know how to describe the taste but it is definitely something different. However, I must say I love the original flavor the most!

other than those very very sweet ice cream, Mado Cafe also serve some sweet dessert like waffles and parfaits, also some turkish dishes. The price are on high range though.

The Troika, a new luxury residences in KL area, it is located just behind Inter Continental Hotel.
On the ground floor there is a beautiful cafe as well, Acme Bar & Coffee.
I went there on a saturday morning to have my brunch and a little "me" time, doing some reading and enjoying the sunshine.

not difficult to find this place. if you are taking public transport like me, stop at Ampang Park LRT station, go to intercontinental hotel/citibank direction, walk in jalan binjai, and you will see it soon, the Troika. The cafe is located at the ground floor of the building.

My tea, very expensive tea I will say. but the packaging is very pretty! It's the first time I have Tea Forte's tea too.

my brunch. waited quite long for the dish to be served.
In this cafe you can easily find smoked duck dishes. Kinda salty due to the cheese and smoked duck but the thick tomato slices in it make it better.

The food here is kinda on a high price range (especially the tea!), but the environment is one of the best in KL! and I notice that they have sunday brunch buffet as well. those who love to eat more on holiday can opt for that.

Marmalade Cafe Smile Feb 29, 2012

Went to Marmalade in Publika for a brunch with a birthday girl friend.
This branch is bigger than Marmalade in Bangsar Village and I personally prefer this branch if you ask me.

It is actually quite far away, you need to walk out from publika and it is located nearby the children playground. Ask direction at concierge counter if you are lost.

I had this as I always love breakfast meal. Love the grilled mushrooms but the baked beans are too cold, hope it is warm. This is a no pork food place, but I wish they could give selection to replace chicken sausages with beef sausages or beef bacons. =p
The potato cake is quite special, they actually lightly fried a scoop of mashed potato over the pan and it harden on the surface like a potato biscuit.
Green Eggs RM17

My vegetarian friend order this green egg. Pesto scramble egg on a toast serve with grilled mushroom. We all love mushrooms, don't we? I think it is a very special dish as I never tried any other pesto dishes other than pesto pasta.
Aglio Olio RM24

Aglio Olio RM24

Their Aglio Olio is very colorful! unlike the other plain aglio olio spaghetti which just come with seafood slices, this aglio olio comes with lots of mushrooms and colorful vege! love it!
