Thosai Smile Feb 23, 2013   (Related Review)

I love to have this roti besides from the usual roti telur or roti kosong. The version here is one of the best thosai in my books. My mum and I loved the thin layer of fermented rice batter, with aromatic rice flavour and slight sourness taste to it. Not to mention that it was crispy, quite addictive stuff mad The dhall here was good as well, with the reasonable consistency and warm temperature.

Roti Canai Kosong Smile Feb 23, 2013

The roti canai here is another winner in my books, as I can hardly spot any oil in it or on the plate, literally zero oil. A healthier choice compared to oily roti canai out there. The outer layer is nicely pan fried till crispy, while the interior is fluffy. I like to take this with generous amount of fish curry. It is a bit of letdown as it lacked spices that fish curry should have.

Sotong Kangkung OK Feb 23, 2013   (Related Review)

This is my mum's favourite dish so she cannot afford to miss this dish when in Penang. The kangkung vege was nicely blanched till the right texture there by retaining its crunchiness and bright green colour. Same goes to the well blanched sotong slices, tender and nice to savour. The black sauce was thicker than here in KL, which I find lacked the strong taste. But the chilli paste/sauce saved the dish.

Fruit Rojak Smile Feb 23, 2013   (Related Review)

This famous Penang delicacy is not to be missed, thanks to its inviting ingredient inside named prawn paste. This unique point in this dish makes me craving for more and more. The fruits here are fresh and crunchy, went well with the black sauce concocted with har kou and peanuts. Sadly the prawn paste was not as thick as it used to be 10 years ago. Maybe I should find another stall that serves sticky har kou with fruits smile

Oh Chien Smile Feb 23, 2013

Penang is famous for its delicacy called oh chien aka oyster omellete. I can't afford to miss this, particularly due to the very inviting aroma as I was sitting at the table just in front of it. The oysters here tasted really fresh and sweet, something I can't get here in KL. But the size was rather small and little overcooked. The batter with egg was nicely fried with wok hei and well seasoned. I can't stop dipping it into the special sesame chilli sauce. Quite addictive stuf I would say.
