Vietname Style Vermicelli Salad Smile Feb 26, 2013

Categories : Vietnamese | Restaurant | Noodles

I absolutely love this dish that comes with vermicelli, fried spring rolls, grilled chicken, cucumber, carrots served with sweet chilli sauce separately. It is a healthy dish that I can take everyday mad

Here at Mekong House, their version is equally good as other established Vietnamnese restaurants in KL. The vermicelli is blanched till just the right texture, with a little QQ texture still remaining. The spring rolls were absolutely delicious with generous savoury fillings inside, deep fried till perfect golden crispy brown. Grilled chicken here is to die for. It taste very much like satay. The meat was really tender and flavourful from the marinade. Pour in the sauce, have a good mix and you are good to go.

Lobak with Coconut Rice Smile Jan 21, 2013

Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Noodles | Nasi Lemak

I first had halal chicken lobak here and immediately fell in love with it. I ordered the coconut rice that comes with chicken lobak, jiu hu char and shrimp belacan, with separate bowl of curry. The lobak was nicely fried till crispy, retaining its juiciness inside. The chicken meat was simply flavourful and satisfying, coupled with the crunchy beancurd skin, another favourite comfort food of mine. Other ingredients tasted good, I gave thumbs up overall mad

Nabeyaki Udon Smile Dec 28, 2012   (Related Review)

This came piping hot in a claypot- udon in Japanese fish-based broth, topped with tempura ebi (prawn), fish cake, fried tofu, shiitake mushroom, egg and chopped spring onions. Quite an abundance of ingredients isn't it? mad

The udon is cooked till perfect al-dente texture, leaving it smooth, silky and has nice QQ bite to it. Broth tasted decent and hearty. Tempura ebi was half crunchy and half soft (nicely absorbed with the broth), simple yet delicious.

Other ingredients tasted decent and match the whole dish very well. I am happy to see a whole egg is being added, a simple ingredient that can take the dish to the next level. I like my egg yolk runny so I quickly spooned out and enjoyed it to my heart's content.

Overall it is a highly recommended comfort food, especially during the rainy weather in December now lol

Curry Chicken Puff Smile Dec 27, 2012

Mr. Siew Bao is a kiosk located at Sunway Pyramid, just below TGV Cinemas. Service is friendly and prompt.

The puff has a golden colour look, the taste is even better. The pastry is incredibly buttery, flaky and light. The fillings were quite generously filled with chicken and potato. It tasted spicy enough and well seasoned. A great snack I would say and I will sure return for more of it lol

If I am not mistaken it cost not more than RM2.80. Considered cheap inside a shopping mall.

Kung Po Chicken Smile Dec 26, 2012

Kung Po flavour dishes has always been my favourite type of chinese cuisine flavour. Spicy, sweet, savoury sauce, it has all in one package that suits me mad

8 Road delievered the dish very well. Chicken tigh meat is used and cut into bite-sized pieces. They are well-coated with the sauce, leaving extra behind which I enjoyed taking with white rice very much. Generous amount of ginger slices, onions and spring onions contributing extra crunchy texture.
