Peanut Cream with Mochi

Peanut Cream with Mochi

I think peanut cream filling goes really well with the hotcakes. The cream tasted creamy and smooth but although it has a nice sweet taste, I did not find the cream tasted like it has peanuts except that it was rich and dense. Perhaps that is how it was meant to be with just a hint of it. The hot cake's crunchy skin made each bite quite a delight when the cream and cake flavours mixes. It tasted mildly sweet but the custard has a milky taste that is additictive. This really makes a good snack for any day.

NY Finest

NY Finest

Being a pizza fan, I was game to try something different from the usual Domino's or Pizza Hut. And what else to order if not New York's Finest which is one of their signature flavours. It certainly lived up to its name, with toppings like italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, black olives, mushrooms, onions, red and green bell peppers; how could it go wrong right? It has a mildly heavy salty taste which was not overpowering and the mushrooms really gave its unique flavour of earthy mushroom taste which blends really well. Their pizza crust really delivers as it was just the right consistency with enough spring in the pastry and there was a sweet aroma from the many ingredients.

Roasted Pork Tamago Ramen  Smile Aug 17, 2012

I really like the ramen at this restaurant. The noodles are thin and cooked with the right consistency and springy texture. One of my favourite is the Char Siu Tamago Ramen which has roast pork, seaweed, spring onion and boiled egg. The egg is really the highlight of this dish. The runny yolk really adds so much flavour to the already tasty soup and made it savoury sweet. I could taste a mildly strong salty flavour from the roast pork slices which is not fatty. Each bowl costs RM26 which is well worth the price.

Stir Fried Vegetables Smile Aug 17, 2012

This restaurant has very good dishes which are highly recommended. The seating is limited and I felt at home while dining there with the cosy decor. Even an ordinary dish like fried kailan was worthy of mention. The kailan is fresh with a tinge of bitterness that comes with it. It was stir fried with garlic and the sharp taste of garlic delivered the right flavour to the dish. It was also not oily with just enough oil to keep it moist and crunchy.

Hainan Tea Smile Aug 17, 2012   (Related Review)

This restaurant have food that is just average but has great coffee and tea. And they have a special range of hainanese coffee and tea that is quite good. I like the Hainan Tea which is actually hot tea with milk. There was a distinct tea taste that is just nice neither too thin or too strong. It has a creamy texture from the milk which is a taste I left lingering long after. The tea comes with a thin layer of froth and has a nice aroma too.
