The ice-cream at Quan's really does deserve mention. I am not sure what brand of ice cream it is but one thing's for sure. It is really creamy and taste really smooth.

Among the many flavours, I love green tea the most. It is very easy to call it a flavour but not have much of the taste in it. Here, the ice cream is really full of the taste of each flavour. The ice cream is sweet but not so much that it kills the taste. And it is not too chunky or frozen. And they serve it in a little shot glass. Really shows how much they paid attention to the little details. Like the decor on their walls which are all about movies.

Another flavour that I like is the classic vanilla. It was again just the right consistency and just sweet enough without being unpleasant. Ice cream is served as part of their set lunch.

Another dish I like to order at Quan's is their Tom Yam Fried Rice. Their fried rice is actually a tad too oily but tastes great. The tom yam's spicyness really perks up my tastebuds and the rice is also well flavoured with shredded chicken meat, prawns, fried egg and carrots. Chips, tomatoes and cucumber is served at the side. Once the runny yolk from the egg is mixed with the rice, the taste is further enhanced. Feels really moist and not too salty.

Chawanmushi Smile Aug 16, 2012

I've always had a liking for steamed egg especially the japanese type which they called chawanmushi. I tried the version at Yuzu and is not disappointed. It had the smoothest texture with the steaming done with just the right timing to give it the nicest sheen. The ingredients were mushroom, fishcake and unagi. Really tasted super delicious as the mushroom and unagi had such strong flavours. The milky texture is flavoured with soy sauce and has a sweet salty taste which was just great with the dish served hot. Highly recommended.

When you step into the restaurant compound, you are immediately transported into a tranquil setting with a balinese feel. I love their decor and was really excited to try their food. To start off, I ordered the Raspberry Bandung with Roses Flavour drink. Usually I am not keen for iced drinks but this time I am glad I tried it. The bandung syrup has a sweetness that was not overpowering like some bandung mixes. I think they struck a balance with the milk and syrup. It has a nice aroma from the rose flavour. It was more like the flowery version of a teh tarik with the smooth milky texture and a layer of syrup at the bottom. There was just enough ice to chill the drink. A good choice although it cost RM8.

I really like the Jujube Tea at B Station, a korean restaurant. This is actually a kind of date with a slightly earthy and sweet taste that was so natural. The juice is a bit like tangerine taste but not as strong and there are bits of the pulp in the drink. There were bits of pine nuts added for extra taste. The pine nuts with its special flavour really made the tea taste unique. Everything about this restaurant really calms the mind. I will definitely return although the food is just normal.
