Vanilla Butterscotch Cake

Vanilla Butterscotch Cake

I am not a fan for cream cakes, the type which leaves you bloated. But the Vanilla Butterscotch Cake is really different. It is a vanilla cake with butterscotch cream and topped with almonds and pistachio. The cake texture is really rich with vanilla flavour and dense. I like the butterscotch cream which is light but creamy and feels really buttery. The nuts added another dimension with their crunchiness and flavour. This is a cake that I do not mind returning for.

Cafe Latte

Cafe Latte

Pacific Coffee is a coffee chain from Hong Kong which is underrated. I really like their coffee which has a nice strong blend. Their Latte has just the right consistency of frothed milk and the espresso still retains its charateristic bitterness which few can achieve. The aromatic blend works so well that I do not need any sugar to enjoy my cuppa. And the brew is just bitter enough without being too strong. Good for any day.

Mango Pudding

Mango Pudding

One of the items in the lunch buffet is the Mango Pudding. The pudding is really smooth and so rich with mango taste. It was served in a wine glass and decorated with chocolate ganache which is crispy. There was a milky texture and the sweetness is really natural from the fruit. Since it is also light, I could finish 2 glasses without feeling heavy, this is one of the best pudding I tasted. Highly recommended.

Sotong with Salted Egg

Sotong with Salted Egg

This restaurant is located in Taman Desa Aman in Cheras and serves good chinese dishes at reasonable prices. They have so many dishes worth mentioning and one of it is the Fried Squid with Salted Egg. It didn't look like much when they served it because the breaded squid looks a bit floury so I did not have high expectations. But I was pleasantly delighted with the chewy texture of the squid and it was quite fresh too with no fishy taste which is prevalent in seafood. And the breading was extra yummy with the salty flavour from the egg which really binds the breading so well. The dish came with chili sauce which was sweet.

Steamed Fish with Chopped Radish Smile Aug 14, 2012

Choy Poh Fish

Choy Poh Fish

Since we ordered dishes with rice, we definitely have to order steamed fish. The waiter recommended their Steamed Fish with Choy Poh (a preserved chinese radish) so we all agreed with the order. It was a good choice, the fish was a variety of pomfret but not as expensive. The fish was topped with chopped radish and this tasted really good as the radish had a strong flavour which enhanced the fresh taste of the fish. The flesh was tender and still juicy so it was really nice when pairing it with rice.
