Classic Cravings Smile Jul 14, 2020

Pining for a British roast? Shepherds pie? Bangers & Mash? Well, not quite... but as close as you'll get in this colonial town where the Brits mined tin and fled to the nearby hills when the sun was too intense. Yut Sun's famous chicken chop is tastier than it looks, and you'd be hard pressed to not order a piece of bread to mop up all that delicious brown gravy. A week later you'll start having cravings for it again, trust me...

Tasty Pakistani Smile Jul 14, 2020

Yet another feverously popular place that I found quite by accident. I struggled to get a table in the labyrinth restaurant where congregations of gastronauts popped handfulls of nosh in their mouths and spoke loudly causing debris to fly in gravity defying patterns.

That being said, the curry was spectacular, the complimentary fish curry had real oomph, and the naan was good but too bready/doughy for my liking.

Penang's Best Ramen Smile Jul 14, 2020

Suckerpunched by a bowl of soup? Today I was.

Penang has Laksa and Curry Mee spots galore, but what I found severely lacking was a solid bowl of Ramen. I tried a couple places with no luck, and was on the verge of giving up when the fight to live returned. I commandeered a cab, hurtled north, walked around the block a few times waiting for it to open, was told by the waitress "It's salty so if you want it less salty order with extra broth". I reassured her it was ok. I was right. This was top notch ramen. Everything, except perhaps the slightly dry-chewy pork, was on point.

You could easily find worse ramen than this in Tokyo, or anywhere in Japan for that matter. This is well made, and well balanced and bloody delicious.

Succulent Foul Smile Jul 14, 2020

Moist, tender, lip-smackingly amazing Hainanese chicken in Chinatown? TICK!

Ever with my ears to the ground, the old chinese receptionist bestowed legendary status on this fine establishment, so with that recommendation ringing in my ears I considered it my duty to test his utterances. He was bang on! The deceptively plain looking broth also packed a deep chicken punch! Poultry sacrifice of the highest order.

Phenomenal South Indian Smile Jul 14, 2020

Categories : Malaysian variety | Indian | Restaurant | Mixed rice

Undoubtably one of the best places for South Indian food in KL. Prices are a bit higher than the roadside places but its worth it.

Try the house special chettinad chicken curry! Don't be afraid if the waiter warns you its spicy, its not really. The food here really is top top notch, although the chicken pieces have a lot. of bones....
