Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles | Dim sum

As we couldn't decide what to order in The Han Room, we ordered a set course per person. The concept was pretty good as each person was served with small serving.

Crispy Cod Fish Roll with Chicken Floss. Crispy toped with mayo sauce and chicken floss taste superb for a starter.

Double-Boiled Coral Shark’s Fin in Shark’s Bone Soup. Thick and tasty.

Deep-Fried Spare Rib with Red Wine Sauce. Tender meat with red win sauce a combination of sweet and sour.

Braised Whole Abalone with Gluten in Foil

Braised Ee-Fu Noodles with Shrimp Roe & Beancurd Puff

The courses comes from the set are served per person, so all pictures above are based on single serving. It's delicious and food served are of quality. The Han Room under the Oriental Group serve al la carte chinese cuisine, noodles, rice and desserts are available.

Great Ramen, truly from Japan! Smile Jun 08, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen/Udon/Soba

There aren't many good ramen places in KL and this is one of the best I've tried. I've heard of a few good ones but hasn't got the chance to try them out. But after having a bowl of ramen from Yamagoya, I crave for more.

We certainly had a feast that afternoon. The newly Yamagoya Ramen all the way from Japan has over 140 outlets of franchise branches. Recently, just weeks ago they had finally open in Solaris Dutamas, hence, the first Yamagoya outlet in Malaysia.

Mukashi Special Ramen, RM 24

The signature ramen, a must have when your at Yamagoya. Served in tonkotsu (pork bone) broth, topped with spring onions, ear fungus, 2 slices of cha-siu, seaweed, beansprouts, bamboo shoots and soy sauced egg. The noodles was superb with the wholesome broth paired is pure flavoursome. The thing I liked about their ramen is that their broth are milky yet think but not too oily and are really smooth.

The pork bone stock broth are flown in all the way from Japan, and reboiled at the outlet while everyday soup is freshly boiled again daily to prevent the pork oil to be too oily in the soup.

Miso Ramen, RM 24

Blending two different soup together, Miso Ramen has a refreshing taste with a slight tinge of spicyness adds flavour to the entire bowl of ramen, it has a very significant unique taste. Served with 2 slices of char -iu, bamboo shoots, ear fungus, beansprouts and topped with spring onions.

Char-siu are extremely good. With the right amount of fats, it's tender, thin sliced with perfect taste and aroma of the pork. We were also told by the outlet manager that he would go to the pork supplier to source for the best pork by smelling it fresh and raw, he can identify which is the good ones they would order.

Yamagoya Soy Sauced Egg, RM 4

Eggs are boiled with soy sauce and other ingredients enabling the fragrance to enter into the egg bypassing the shells. Therefore, the boiled eggs have a great colouring texture of light brown and extra contrast on the egg yoke.

Goyza, RM 11

Fried Chicken, RM 11

Squeeze some lemon juice over the crispy fried chicken and just eat it that way, without any sauce or dressing. It's thin crispy fried chicken, one bite and you could taste how juicy it is with the lemon juice squeezed earlier it completes you and just craving for more. The chicken doesn't taste flat at all and we asked the outlet manager for it's secret in making fried chicken, he said, by selecting good chicken; specifically all these ball rolled fried chicken is made out from only the thigh of Kampung Chicken!

The environment! They even have a hair saloon above them under the same owner.

Not forgetting, Mugi Cha, RM 2

Best served cold, mugi cha is a drink you should order in Yamagoya Ramen as it's rare to be seen in Japanese restaurants around KL. The reason to be served cold and it's the only option in Yamagoya Ramen is because when mugi cha is served hot you'll taste the slight bitter taste in the tea itself, hence they only have one option which is cold.

Trying Out Blackball OK Jun 08, 2012
Categories : Taiwanese | Café | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt | Desserts

After all the hype on snowflake, I crave for desserts more. The outlet of Blackball similar to snowflake opens in Sri Petaling.

Their signature Grass Jelly Ice was exactly the same as snowflake best seller.
Nothing special on that. However, they do have other desserts which you should try if you decided to give blackball a go.

Winter Melon, RM 5.90
I've got to agree, Winter Melon is great, just like Gong Cha winter melon tea, this one is superb. Beats the Signature Blackball. It comes with pearls too!

And my personal favourite, or perhaps most ladies would love this.

Cranberry Crushed Ice, RM 6.50
It's like a ladies dessert, sweet and sour, just complicated to describe. I would classify it under 'sexy'. Cranberry brings a sweet and sour flavour and melts the crushed ice. While jelly and pearls neutralised the sour taste. Great one and this is what I call a one of it's kind dessert. Majority of girls or guys who enjoy berries, I'll recommend you to try this.

Overall the environment is good. They do have in-house wifi as well.
