Seafood is one of the many reasons why I love going back to my hometown, Kuala Selangor. Every time I go back, I’ll visit this restaurant, commonly known as “Restaurant Ah Zui” by the locals. Crab porridge is one of the recommended dishes here. Depending on how many persons there are, the restaurant will prepare the porridge with the appropriate amount of crabs. Don’t you crave for the delicious looking porridge after seeing the picture above? The porridge is sweet due to the crabs and one shall not worry about the “fishy” (or “crabby”?) smell at all because the crabs used are absolutely fresh. The ginger slices in porridge make it even more fragrant. Next up, it’s the clams in ginger and onion sauce. Again, I have to stress that seafood here is fresh. Thus, even if the clams are cooked in a sauce that tastes milder than spicy ones, there is no muddy smell. On the contrary, the sauce brings out the freshness of clams. Since the sauce is also flavourful as it’s been cooked with clams, I like to eat my rice together with the sauce

This is the Taiwanese Style Salted Crispy Chicken 盐酥鸡, which is one of the chef's recommendation in Xian Ding Wei. It's categorized as snacks on the menu but I had it for my main course, with rice of course. Basically it's small chunks of chicken pieces fried to crispy perfection, and then sprinkled with pepper, salt and chili powder. In terms of taste, it's quite similar to chicken cutlet from Shilin XXL chicken.

The reason why I had them with rice is because if these snacks are to be eaten on their own, they could be too salty due to the salt. Make sure you drink lots of water after eating this (or beer? I think they go well with each other )

Many people may not know about this shop because it's hidden away in a row of shop in BU4, nearby to new wing of One Utama.

I had to make an appointment to ensure that I have a table because the seats here are quite limited, so remember to call before you visit!Let's go to the main point. In the picture above, on your left is Gary's Cool Green (apple + aloe vera + honey) while on your right is Summer Splash (watermelon + orange + grape ). I've drank both and I preferred the Gary's Cool Green because it's more refreshing to me as it only contains one type of fruit juice. I'm not saying that the other is bad but due to the presence of 3 different types of fruit juice being mixed together, none of the taste stands out, which in turn causing the drink to be quite normal.

For the main course, bf and I ordered the famous reverse pork burger (RM30).So why is it called a reverse pork burger? That's because unlike any normal burgers, this huge burger consists of 2 huge pork patties sandwiching a slice of toasted bun in between with other ingredients like cheese, tomato slices, lettuce, and bacon. Here's a closer look. The patties are very juicy and flavourful, each mouthful explodes with new taste in my mouth. The fries on the side are too much to me, given the fact that I'm already bloated after finishing the burger but I did take some and I find them to be crispy and salty, just the way I like.

Mamak shops will not be on the top of my restaurant-to-dine-in list but I had no choice to have my late dinner at this shop one night.

Again, me being me, I ordered the nasi lemak biasa because I don’t fancy having some very oily meal at such late hour. Priced at RM2.50, this nasi lemak is such a disappointment to me. Yes the rice is fragrant enough and there is also an egg given (I prefer fried egg though), but the anchovies and peanuts are hard not crispy at all. Most importantly, the highlight of my meal – sambal is served cold and tasted weird. I’ve eaten at other mamak shops and most of the times the nasi lemak is fairly good.

Nasi lemak is like the most basic order on a menu that should at least be prepared very good and delicious but this one at Padang Kota failed to meet my requirements.

Located at one of the busiest streets in Dataran Sunway, I Heart Yogurt is another shop which sells frozen yogurt. Unlike Tutti Frutti or Moo Cow, I Heart Yogurt also serves main courses like fish and chips and the likes. Simple but pretty setting of the restaurant makes one feel cozy. Over here, one can choose 3 different sizes of yogurt servings:
Simple Snack (RM8.50 with 2 premium toppings)
Meet Me Halfway (RM13.50 with 3 premium toppings)
Larger Than Life (RM17.50 with 4 premium toppings)There is only original and seasonal flavour (mango for now) frozen yogurt for the customers to choose from. I’m impressed that I Heart Yogurt has over 40 different toppings provided. To top it off they have a corner which allows us to add on additional toppings without additional charges! How awesome is that? I chose original flavour with dragon fruit and longan as toppings, honey star as extra free toppings. I usually don’t like original flavour because it’s always too sour in my opinion but the one at I Heart Yogurt is acceptable to me. Not to mention that the toppings I chose have made my yogurt to be sweet.Made fresh daily and with no artificial flavours and additives, I foresee that this will become my new favourite dessert for its price compared to other froyo providers
