Herbal jelly Smile Jun 26, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Desserts

This is the place you should go when you're sick or you just wanna have a cup of herbal drinks.

I ordered the cold herbal jelly @ Guai Leng Kou at RM8. Quite big bowl to me though but since I was not well at the same time, I finished this on my own for the first time.

The jelly itself had a smooth texture and it tasted bitter on its own. As you can see, the jelly came with a pot of sugar syrup and you can pour the sugar syrup as much as you like, depending on how sweet you want your herbal jelly to be.

Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest Smile Jun 26, 2012

Instead of having KFC, Pizza Hut and the likes, why not buy Subway? smile

I bought this on Monday at RM7.50 - the Italian B.M.T. Genoa salami, spicy pepperoni, and Black Forest Ham in the Honey Oat bread, topped up with lettuce and pickled cucumbers with honey mustard and ketchup sauce & black pepper, this is much more healthier isn't it?

I usually opt for lettuce and pickled cucumbers only because the more veggies I choose, the messier it gets when I eat tongue Pickled cucumbers are a must in my Subway!

Excuse the messy ingredients you see here but they all make one good combination! Melted cheese in bread, pickled cucumbers with ham, all these stimulate my smell and taste senses lol Bread is soft and warm as well.

Macarons OK Jun 26, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

I got to know about this newly-opened bakery via FB so I decided to drop by one evening to get some snacks.

Very beautiful and cozy setting of the bakery house. Let's move on to the choices they have here; macarons, mille crepes, cupcakes and cheese cakes.

Some examples include:
~ mille crepe: musang durian, oreo chocolate, baileys, citrus cheese
~ macaron: vanilla, orange, mango

Priced at RM3.90, I bought 3 to try - chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla flavoured macarons. Well, to be honest I prefer the macarons here than the ones in Dreamz Bakery because they're not too sweet and I could taste the corresponding flavour in each type. The only downside is the price.

On top of that, I've had some unforgettable experience with the staff here. The lady handling the cashier machine seemed to be very blur and gave me the wrong amount of change and despite me telling her the problem, she still looked confused and had to be reminded again before she realized what she did wrongly :|

Chicken and salted egg congee OK Jun 26, 2012

Fell sick the other day and I had no choice but to drive out to hunt for.... porridge!

Bought this chicken and salted egg congee at RM6. Quite pricey if you asked me. Complimentary yau char kuey was given though. Overall this porridge tasted ok, I believe the reason why it tasted so yummy was due to the artificial seasoning present in it. Smooth texture of porridge, plenty of chicken slices and 1/2 salted egg, that's good enough to comfort me when I was sick sad

Red Dragon Smile Jun 26, 2012

One Juice Works a week, keep the doctors away tongue

Staying alone outside means I don't get to consume fruits very often. Yes I do buy fruits from the stall at my workplace but it's usually watermelon, honeydew, papaya, guava. It's hard to get fruits like dragon fruit, lychee, mango and the likes. So what do I do? I purchase a cup of Juice Works!

Red dragon = dragon fruit + lychee. The taste of dragon fruit is very bland and it's perfectly matched with lychee. Did you know that dragon fruits are low in calories and their seeds are rich in lipids? As for lychees, they are super rich in vitamin C that 9 lychees are equivalent to an adult's daily recommended vitamin C requirement.

Sweet and cooling, just the way I like. Get a Power cup and it can be my lunch/dinner of the day smile
