I wasn't convinced initially when my friend told me to try out this stall at Food Republic. Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to dine in at this place one day and fell in love with the food immediately. Up till today, I would come back here for the food it offers.

This set above is the Chicken chop set. Comes with a bowl of soup of the day and rice. As you can see, besides chicken breast meat, vegetables and bean sprouts were also part of the set meal. Cooked with the special sauce, the chicken will be the last to be served on your aluminium foil placed in front of you.

Nyonya cuisine in KL Smile Jan 11, 2012

Sick of eating Western cuisine or Asian food Then you should try Nyonya cuisine!

Peranakan place is located on the link bridge connecting the Old wing and New wing of One Utama and it's easy to be spotted with its decorations.

Been here a few times and I must say I'm not bored of the dishes served here yet.

First up is the claypot tofu. Well, it's not served in claypot for sure. However, it is cooked with the similar ingredients as of those commonly found in hawker stalls. Japanese tofu of course, mushroom, carrots, chicken, green peppers. Due to the lack of claypot, this dish seems to be lacking of "wok hei".

Next is kangkung belacan. It is slightly spicy but I think it's suitable for those who can't eat spicy food. Plenty of fried shrimps found in this dish, but the saltiness blends well with the spiciness, definitely very appetizing!

Last is honey chicken! I love this particular dish so much that i always order the same dish in each of my visit. Fried chicken sprinkled with sesame, in honey sauce; crunchy and sweet at the same time.

I’ve heard/read reviews on this café but didn’t have a chance to visit it until yesterday. Since some of my colleagues will be on leave on the last working day in the year of 2011, a few of us decided to have dinner before the weekend.

This café shouldn’t be too difficult to be spotted; it’s located next to Full House, above Movida. There’s a staircase on the left leading up to the café. From the outside, it is just another handphone & accessories shop and the café is located in the inner part of the shop. Since the shop both manages direct sales and restaurant at the same time, there aren’t many tables around inside the shop. However, there is a smoking section (I assume it is because it’s located at the balcony area on the outside) for those who prefer to dine in surrounded by a more lively environment.

Clean and cozy - these are the words that I would use to describe the café. The tables and chairs are in black & white, with the smoothing music played in the background and the cooling environment, it’s not too hard for one to fall asleep.

There were 7 of us, but only 3 different types of main course were ordered. We opted for our food from the set dinner according to our own preferences. Beef bacon pasta carbonara, chicken pasta carbonara (specially requested) and al-funghi mushroom olio were picked along with drinks such as iced black coffee, Dilmah specialty hot tea drinks (flavours: peach, caramel, blackcurrant, lychee etc).

Coffee Chemistry Café also has an offer for those who order their lunch/dinner set. Mushroom soup can be added on at RM4.95, a 50% discount from its original price. Needless to say, all of us ordered the soup. I would say it’s worth it as the soup is thick and filled with mushroom bits.

All in all, this café is worth visiting when you're at Sunway Giza mall.

Beef, chicken or vege? Smile Jul 19, 2012

I knew I had to pay a visit to this place when I saw the pictures of burgers served here posted on Facebook. Charcoal buns! How special is that? lol

Basically, this place serves more beef burgers than chicken and vege and the beef used is 100% Australian grass-fed. Also, chicken burgers usually sold out faster than among all so it's best to be there early if you want chicken!

This is the hangover burger set. Crispy hash brown + beef + maple syrup + mushrooms = my yummylicious dinner! Who knew that such combinations produce a rather weird yet delicious burger right? The beef patty is not completely well done to bring out its natural flavours to the customers; if you're one who don't like eating slightly raw beef, then you should request for the beef to be well done when placing orders. Fries were served piping hot and crispy as well smile

This is the Beautiful Mess version 3.0. You get fried portabella mushroom, sunny side up in green pepper, mozarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, lettuce and beef in charcoal bun. I can't find the perfect word to describe this burger because it's just so good that I kept wanting more! Runny egg yolk which made the beef patty more juicy and flavourful than it already is, or the crunchiness of green pepper and fried mushroom, whichever it its, I guarantee you that you won'r regret ordering this!

Attack the yolk! Smile Jun 26, 2012

Bf loves ramen while I'm not really a big fan. I suppose it's normal to eat the type of food that your lover loves right? And now, I find myself crave for ramen on rainy day sometimes.

Both of us stumbled across this restaurant while waiting for time to pass around KL city one day. Needless to say, this was his choice to have lunch. Limited amount of dishes were served here, mainly ramen.

Presenting you the house specialty - Marutama Ra-men; ramen in chicken broth with Char Siu slices, seaweed, spring onion and 3/4 boiled egg.

The broth at Marutama was very flavourful, but it's a shame it's not pork broth sad Char Siu was tender and fat as well. Among all ingredients, I loved the egg the most!

That's not all, if you want your ramen/broth to even more flavourful, there’s free flow of deep fried sliced garlic and freshly roasted sesame seeds provided.
